I Want My Band Removed Now!!!!!

Dear Bubble, Although your post was over a year ago I hope you are still out there. I want to thank you for this post, it really motivated me. I was banded 4/1/09, immediately lost 40 lbs and then stalled. You have given me so many things to think about and implement. I just found this thread and have stared at the beginning to read all the posts.
  2. Thanks for the response. Yes, I plan to talk to my dr today. My problem is that I can eat any kind of carb, any amount. I really need a fill, even though I love my present fill for taking my 25 meds twice a day. Hope your day is a good one.
  3. Thanks so much for your reply; it took me forever to get it after trying to go thru my email. Anyway, I've had a pretty good day: Lunch: Mahi Mahi & lettuce w/oil & vinegar Supper: Scallops with lettuce salad. But still "think" I'm hungry--think I need a larger fill. I want to try that journal site--after my visit last wk my dr wanted me to start a food journal and I just haven't been consistant, maybe this will help. Thanks again.
  4. Well, guess I don't know the secret to having anyone answer my post from 7:30 or so this morning.:blushing: I could really use your input. I just spent another fortune at the grocery this morning and still feel like I don't have much to eat. For lunch I had: 4 oz of Mahi Mahi (first time I've ever cooked or eatten this fish) and a small bowl of lettuce with oil & vinegar.
  5. Good Morning, I have been reading your posts because I needed some protein ideas, but I noticed a lot of you all hardly eat any protein. Now, I'm confused. I was banded 4/1/09 and was losing weight fine, then around the 6th wk I started gaining--after all that pain I don't want to be gaining w8!! Have lost a total of 37-40 lbs. My dr told me that I was not eating enough protein--I have irritable bowel syndrom which gives me lots of diarrhea & nausea, so I was just happy to eat anything I could keep down (and inside). Got a bit carried away with the carbs:mad2: and quit losing and even started gaining. All my dr really wants me to eat is protein first and foremost, then if I have room, veggies next, and then fruit. My first question is why can I eat large portions of foods I'm not supposed to eat with no problem, and then can't keep down a few bites of scrambled egg? Second question, how are you all eating so many carbs and still losing weight? I am also a diabetic (4 shots per day) and when I eat only protein my blood sugar bottoms out and then I eat CARBS! A vicious cycle. Today I have eatten two slices of ff ham.
  6. I can certainly understand, I had a big Diet Mt. Dew craving before surgery:tongue_smilie:, but I gave it up completely with my pre-op diet. One thing that helped me is the "no drinking with meals rule", I really liked to drink Mt. Dew with my snacky foods. And upon stopping I had some bad headaches, however, my dr allows coffe so that took care of that. But the biggest reason I stopped the Mt. Dew was because my dr told me (or I read) that carbonation could damage your band or some part of it by causing erosion. And after going thru the sugrery, I don't won't nothing touching my band! Good luck to kicking your habit. If I really want a "shot" I drink a cup of Sugar-Free Swisse Mocha International Coffee:wub:. It's 30 calories, but really satisifies my cravings; you can buy it by the can at the grocery. scout47

    Dr. Charles Morton

Good Morning, Tomorrow will be my second-month anniversary of my lap-band surg. Dr. Charles Morton and his staff have been great to me (and my insurance co. has had no problem with his charges). The second time I had a fill, a lady named Anook (not sure of her title or how to spell her name) saw me and she was very, very helpful (and gentle) with my questions and gave me great suggestions. My next fill is next week and I look forward to it. I can't say enough nice things about his office. scout47

    Banded 4/1/09

:w00t: Finally feeling much better, I think my dr's date (Day 7) was just too early for me to start solid foods. As of today I have lost 23 lbs! I am using my first day of pre-op diet as my starting w8. Ok, I'm going to ck this out and see if I have posted my blog correctly.

    Gas pain- help!

I learned in the Chat room Friday that a lot of people were suggesting Gas-X Strips (you know, put on tongue and they melt in mouth); I am getting some today. They also advise walking around and for me just leaning forward releases some gas. Gas is a very painful thing; I have never understood why in this day and age passing gas is supposed to be so funny:thumbdown:. Even cartoons are based on this concept ie "Chowder", etc. Of course my grandson (age 11) thinks it is hilarious. Cartoons today are mostly disgusting anyway, what happened to "Tom & Jerry" and "Bugs Bunny"? Man, do I sound old:blush: I was banded 4/1/09 and my port incision is still sore, think that is just normal for a while. Anyway, good luck.

    So Disappointed!!!

Jennifer, So sorry about all your frustration, but have you noticed everything usually gets fouled up when dealing with drs offices and insurance companies! I have been trying to line my surgery up since August 2008 and seems like everything my insurance lady told me about the steps to take SHE was the one who was not following through. But, I finally got approved and was banded 4/1/09! And I won't even go into all the misinformation my drs office sent me. Anyway, just hang in there and keep fighting for yourself because if you just left it to those who are supposed to know what they're doing, you might be waiting a long time. So, regardless of the frustrations YOU just keep following things up. And remember God is in charge. Happy Easter, scout47

    Dr. Charles Morton

Jonthan, I'm late finding your question, but I was just banded 4/1/09 by Dr. Charles Morton who was highly recommended and I was pleased with him. I haven't really thought about "fill" charges--assumed the charges would be covered by my insurance. So far my initial out-of-pocket payment at pre-addmission was approx. $280 (after $250 deductable). My first post-op appt is April 22, 2009. Even though I have had a lot more pain than I ever dreamed of, everybody in Dr. Morton's office has been very helpful and my phone calls to his office were returned within a few hours. So far, so good.
  14. And why does it say you have no friends yet? I clicked on "Befriend tish76.
