Too tight and miserable...

Hello All.....I just wanted to share my lastest band story with you. On 12/8 I went to get an adjustment, my 5th, on that day came with 9.5 ccs in 14cc band. I got just ONE cc which brought me to 10.5ccs...well 3 days later I had to get an UNFILL!....It was one of the scariest times I experienced since I had my band. I could not eat, drink or swallow anything!....not even my own saliva!....I was throwing up like crazy, I ended up in the emergency room that Sunday morning and my doctor removed 2ccs bringing me down to 8.5ccs and now Im fine , THANK GOD!!!..... I know we all have complained at one time or another about not having enough restriction, but you DO NOT want to be overfilled....it is no joke!...I know for sure that my sweet spot is near!....its gotta be somewhere between 9 and 10.5ccs....I will be sure to get smaller amounts in the future, maybe .25ccs at a time. There is one bright spot however.....I lost 9lbs in 5 days...but I do not recommend doing it that way at all! Overall I am very pleased with my band and have lost 77lbs so far....Just wanted to let you know....dont rush the restriction....take your time, it will come!.....Take Care -

Hello All and congrats on all the weight loss and success stories. This is hard work and forget what all the haters have to say, WE KNOW!!!!!......I had my 4th fill on 10-13, I have a 14cc band and now have 9.5 cc's in my band....I love it....Its hard to know what I can eat from day to day. What I can get down today may send me running to the restroom tomorrow but hey, this restriction is what the band is all about....I hope this is my "sweet spot". I sure know when I get a "soft stop" however....my clue to stop eating is a small burp, hiccup or as soon as I feel the slightest discomfort in my mid chest. I've learned that if I try to go pass that....PB CITY for me!....so I stop no matter how good the meal is.....I'm down 69 lbs and my energy level is through the ROOF!....Im down 10 sizes from last winter and love shopping again. Good Luck to all and keep up the hard work!

Hello...I hope all is going well for you....I love my band, eventhough I have a ways to go Im enjoying the journey....its still gets hard for me...my experience so far is not that I gain but I tend to get "stuck" at the same weight for weeks...its only until I get a fill do I see a big decline in numbers....I've had my 3rd fill and it seems to be working just fine....I do get stuck episodes more often but I just have to remember to chew chew chew and eat small bites...take care

Hello Group.....I had my 3rd fill yesterday and its hard to tell if this will be the "one" for me.....I have a 14cc band and now have 8.5 ccs....I've done pretty well, Im down 60lbs since the beginning of my journey and I have at least 70 more lbs to go to reach my first goal....I can feel a small amount of restriction now eventhough Im still on clear liquids....I hope this fill lasts a lot longer than the last.....good luck to all and keep on with the good fight!

Hello Everyone....I had an awful episode of getting "stuck"....It was an eye opening experience to say the least!...I now know for sure my 2nd fill is working.....I had my 2nd fill 8-4-09, which I got under floroscopy because my Dr. could not find my port :w00t:...2.8cc's. I now have a total of 6.3 cc's in a 14cc Allergen Band. After 2 days of liquids I tried to eat some rotisserie chicken....I thought it was tender and juicy enough, I think I just didnt chew well enough!....Well gang....lesson well learned....CHEW..CHEW..CHEW!!!!... Oh I have started eating a LOW GLYCEMIC INDEX food diet plan...It seems to be helping...search the net for more info and a list of foods....check it out.... I have lost 8 lbs since my 2nd fill!!.....I am so happy with my band! FILLS 7/14/09.....3.5cc's 8/4/09.......2.8cc's....total....6.3cc's Good Luck to all

Hello, I also have a 14cc lapband AP large....I had my first fill on 7/14 and I got a total of 3.5cc's...It was fine that day and maybe a day or two after, I felt like I did just after surgery....but now I feel like I can eat more (not as much as before surgery) but more than I would like too.....I do have to learn to recognize when the band tells me to stop eating....I notice I get an irritating feeling in my chest area if I eat too much. I'm hoping that another fill or two will get me to my "sweet spot!"..... 1st fill 7/14 3.5ccs -
Hey girl!....glad you are doing well....I thought it would be later but the dr wants me to come in 7-14 to get my first fill!.....I need to crank up the exercise, but I've been trying to get over an awful cold and sore throat!.....the scale is still going down...slowly but at least down!...down 17lbs since surgery.....take care

Hello all June Journeyers!!!....I had my surgery 6/19/09 I feel fine and thank GOD the whole procedure went well from start to finish...Im now eating pureed foods and seem to get full on 5-6 oz. Since the start of my journey in February, Im down 48 lbs (about 15 lbs of that is post op)...It feels great and Im looking forward to losing the 90 lbs left to lose!....take care and good luck to all....:tongue2:

Hello...glad to finally hear from you...Im glad you are doing well and congrats on the weight loss!...Im doing ok too....Its just hard to figure out what to eat...Im still on pureed foods but its not that bad....Im down 14 lbs since surgery and I notice that I get full after about 5-6 oz of food. It feels like I could eat more but I dont....I dont want to start have pains or throw up!.......from my highest wt in Feb til now...Im down 48 lbs....take care!

Hello fellow banster!...I know we had surgery the same day, I was just checking to see how you are doing. My surgery went great! Not much pain and little discomfort. Im just have lots and lots of gas! I feel bloated but I guess that will pass within the next couple of days...
Im still on a clear liquid diet I start full liquids on Monday for a full week...everything is going well and even better than expected....take care

Hello....I too have to be at the surgery center at 6:30 am!...I can not wait to get this done...I have to admit I cannot sleep...but I have to look at this as a new beginning, a new chapter in my life and I so look forward to having more energy to keep up with my 2 year old!!!!....I thank GOD for the opportunity and I am so blessed to have found this site where there is so much advise and support. I wish all the best of luck and a speedy recovery.....see you on the losers bench! -

Hello...I have Aetna POS II...my coverage required a 3 months program, covered at 100%. I started my journey February 25, 2009 with my seminar and was done with the last DR consult May 29, 2009. Once I completed all my tests and submitted to Aetna, I was approved in 4 days (June 4, 2009)....my surgery is in 3 days!!!.....June 19, 2009.....good luck! :wink: Cherri current 297!

Syntrax nectar SWEETS...VANILLA TRUFFLE IS THE BEST!!!!!...you can mix it with lots of things....fruit, ss chocolate syrup, reduced fat PB. etc.....it is the best whey Protein ISOLATE out there. Hey how are you? I have the same surgery date!!! Girrrrrllllll....June 19th....we got this....Im so happy for you....we are on the same type pre-op diet too....Im having a shake for breakfast, lean meat and green veggie for lunch and a shake for dinner.....congrats girl.....keep in touch!!!!
