  2. Happy 37th Birthday Bdoll!

  3. Your calories do seem a little too low. How many carbs, fat, and protein do you get each day? These can be just as important as calories.

    Time off from work

I also have a desk job. I went back to work in 5 days. I had no problems. Just keep your liquids handy and get up and walk around every 30 minutes. Best of luck to you!!!
  5. Wanted to give an update to my eye situation. I went to my eye doctor and my regular physician. I have ruptured blood vessels in my eyes - not serious though. My regular dr. says it is actually not uncommon for throwing up. I will take 7 - 10 days to heal so for now I look really wierd. But the good thing is that it will heal and no problems!
  6. Last night I ate a 3 ounces hamburger patty that didn't agree with me. Almost immediately i threw it back up! There was even a little blood in with it. I called my bariatric nurse and she said to not be alarmed and take pepcid ac for 2 weeks and go liquid for 24 hours. About 2 - 3 hours later my eyes looked wierd. They had these red splotches all around them like an allergic reaction. I have never had a reaction to anything. I had not even taken the pepcid yet. My sister is a nurse and she gave me some benedryl and eye drops. I took 2 benedryl last night. This morning it is worse. Same puffy red spotchy around eyes. Now my eyeballs have red blood pools at the bottoms. Has anyone ever had this happen after throwing up??
  7. Another good thing that I like is ground turkey with taco seasoning. It satisfies my taco bell craving without the guilt. Refried beans are also good. Best of luck to you!
  8. My first and ONLY stuck episode was also with chicken. My nurse told me chicken is one of the worst for this problem with band and bypass patients. It is just a VERY dry meat. She recommended always adding something to chicken like salsa, marina sauce, gravy, or spaghetti sauce. I know it was a scary thing to have happen. I cried and told my husband to stay away until I got it unstuck. It was definately a learning experience. Best of luck to you on NEVER experiencing this again!
  9. Unfortunately it's not about hurting the band - but hurting yourself. The no drinking while eating is to prevent the liquids from washing the food down into your lower stomach quickly. Thus you would get hungry faster. My doctor recommends if eating out put a napkin over your drink or take the straw out. You can always ask them to take it away. At home it is a matter of convenience. Keep it out of sight and out of mind. Best of luck to you!
  10. Congratulations on still losing. This can be a tough journey. I was banded 8 days ago and already have thoughts of cheating. I sucked on an M & M yesterday - but I only ate the one. I am in Crossville. My husband is from Cookeville. Its nice to meet someone from your own area! Best of luck to you!
