Hey Leah & Suzie I live in the Hills too - Stirling. My first fill has sort of worn off - I had great restriction in the first couple of days but I don't have that anymore. Although I am a lot tighter than I was, I can still eat quite a bit and can still eat quite quickly. Looks like you were in with Patroney for your first fill the day before me, Suzie... I was actually supposed to be banded on 26 Feb but there was a problem  got sent home at 8.30pm and re-booked for 4th March. For the last 3 weeks I've been sticking around 102.5 - 103.5kgs so I was hoping the fill would unstick me but I haven't seen any movement as yet - can't wait to get into double figures. Well keep in touch... BM09

Banded March 4th - anyone else?

So I had my 1st fill today and it was a piece of cake...hardly felt a thing. Apparently I had 1.6 in my size 10 band already and the Dr added another 2.4 to take me up to 4. I've got significant restriction now and could only eat about 1/2 cup for lunch (that was at 1pm and it's 5pm now and I'm not even starting to get peckish). I have another appt in 3 weeks to see how this fill is working for me. Also, that yucky feeling of pressure in my chest and throat has completely vanished (after I had the fill...how strange!!!) BM09  -
Hey! When I had been banded for 3 weeks I was managing to eat around 2 cups of food at a time and my dietitian told me I needed to go on to something a bit thicker. You might want to talk to your nutritionist. Best of luck! BM09

Hey JagBand Yeaye! I found my twin!!!! Are you on solids yet? I'm tolerating solids so I figured, why not? I've not been doing much exercise at all - I am so bad!!! I try to walk with the dog and do some incidental exercise at work, walking around the corridors and up and down the stairs. Keep me updated, twin! BM09:wub: -

Hey! Not bad 28lbs down post-op. No restriction and can eat ANYTHING!!! I have my first physicians appointment tomorrow. I don't know if I'll get a fill or not cos I have been having a strange feeling of pressure in my oesophegus (sp?) and throat which (very strangely) comes and goes and especially goes when I eat!!! (what's all that about?) I've been REALLY exhausted in the last week- I went back to work 4 days post-op and now I wonder if it was too soon. How are you going? BM09 -
Hey! Any Adelaide Bandsters out there? BM09

34 days post surgery, 13kgs (28lbs) down...
BandedMarch2009 posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi everyone Just found this site and it looks like it's going to be very useful. I was banded on 4 March 2009 and so far I've lost 13kgs (28lbs). Most of that loss was right after surgery and I haven't lost much in the last 2 weeks (only 1-2kgs). I think that's because I've been on solids for the last 2 weeks (I know I'm bad but I was getting so hungry and my dietitian sort of OKed it). I have almost no restriction and can eat ANYTHING. I've not had any problems with getting anything down or making it stay down (save one time when I think I ate too fast and it hurt when it was going down, but it DID go down and it stayed down). I have my 1st post-op appointment with the bariatric GP. In the last few days I've been experiencing and strange feeling in my chest and throat but the funny thing is, it comes and goes and usually goes when I eat. I'm going to ask the GP about this tomorrow - hope it's nothing untoward, like a slip (argh!) Looking forward to getting to know you all and interested in making some Bandster friends from Adelaide (and beyond). Love BandedMarch2009 -
