    Maybe I need a therapist....

Thanks to you all for responding! I really enjoy hearing about everyone's experiences and especially their encouragement. I really am excited to get started. I feel grateful for this forum as a resource when I have questions (or have doubts).

    Better Sex!!??

    What does "DH" stand for?
  5. I've been thinking a lot about the surgery, the post-op diet, the drastic changes. My doctor said that after surgery I'll probably only be able to eat 1/4 cup of food at a time. Suddenly I realized, Hey, but I like to eat! I may need to find something I like just as much to replace the food. I think I might need a therapist or a behaviorist to help me adapt to the new life. If history has shown me anything it's that I always start out well on a new eating and exercising regimen but after about 6 months to a year I "relapse". I hope I'm not sounding like a downer but I just really want this to work. What do you all think? Have any of you started therapy or support groups? How are your new healthy lives (the diet and exercise) working out for you?

    So Disappointed!!!

I know that some people from AK come to Seattle to see specialists. We have some great surgeons down here!

    Met With My Surgeon Today

I know...it sucks. My insurance requires three months of medically supervised weight management. Some of them require 6 or 12 months so I guess I lucked out!
  9. ...And the dietician and the ARNP. I wish I could have my surgery right away but I have to wait for three months. I didn't really have much to ask on the forum. Just wanted to share

    Hello From Seattle

thanks for the response! I'm having my surgery at Swedish Medical Center. Dr. McMahon is the surgeon. He has lots of experience and comes highly recommended. My consult went well today. I saw the dietician, the ARNP and the surgeon. Got a lot of good info and I'm nervous but excited! I had blood work done today as well. I guess the next step is the endoscopy. And then the psych eval. My insurance requires 3 months medically supervised weight loss so I won't be able to have the surgery for a while. It feels like an awful lot of stuff but I'm glad they're being so thorough.
  11. I've always thought that it would be awesome if I could suck some fat from my belly and fill my bottom out a bit. LOL. I know you'll start losing again. Don't worry :)

  12. I have my first consultation tomorrow. I welcome any input you might have on what to look out for. How to prepare for surgery, etc.
  13. Too funny! What's worse is that we don't have a hiney either. If I could just push the front to the back, may not be so bad, I dunno. HOpefully, I'll begin to see results again when I'm filled on the 20th. I'll post pictures monthly to see if there's any progress.

  14. I have the same exact body type. All of the women in my family are "apples". I hear stress makes it harder to lose belly fat. I figure I might just get liposuction...lol

    Pre pre-op diet

I've been wondering about the pre-op preparations too. I have a really bad diet soda habit. Will the pre-op diet help prepare me for the post-op diet or will I just feel frustrated post-op?
