  1. It has been about 8 months since I got my band. Throughout that time, I have had times when I felt restriction. However, as I lost weight, that restriction would disappear. With my last fill, I finally know what people are talking about when they refer to the sweet spot. I now know what it means to leave half of the food on my plate. It is great! Yes, this has been a slow process. But on the way I have learned to eat more healthfully and to eat the right portion size. I think that it has been worth it and am confident that you will find that it has been worth it as well. But, as the previous writers have told you, the band is just a tool. You still need to diet but it makes it easier to do so. Good luck!
  2. I have not yet had a fill. However, I have not been hungry since getting my band and it has been about 4 weeks. Even without a fill, I must be getting some restriction from the band itself. I know this from eating a carrot and not chewing well enough--the pain going down was excruciating! My surgeon told me that there are those who never need a fill or just have one fill and lose weight. He did admit that this was rare.
