What Op Do I Need To Reduce My Knees?
sakurah replied to sakurah's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Many thanks. I will do some research on inner thigh lift now that I know what to look for xx -
Hi ,I need a bit of advice and am not up to date on surgery tech terms. I am more or less at my goal weight having lost 9 stone. I had a TT last year with amazing results!!!! The problem area I now have is my knees. when I am sat down I have beautiful slim legs but when I stand up it all seems to drop to my knees which look so large compared to the rest on my slim self. I can literally pull up my skin to the top of my legs. Short of attatching suspenders to the loose skin to hold it up (lol) I am at a loss as to what to do. I am guessing there is surgery that can be done but do not know what this type of surgery is called to research it. If anyone could help or has had a similar problem please let me know. xxx

WOULD YOU DO IT AGAIN? Tummy Tuck - Body Lift
sakurah replied to rosstheboss's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Having my TT done was the second best thing I did. Banding being the first. The results are amazing far better than I could have imagined!! Yes the scar is big, but as someone else once said, It is a smile on my tummy. With my knickers on or a bikini, yes I said bikini!! The scar is totally covered and at 49 I have a beautiful flat tummy and a belly button. My only regret is that it was not done 20 years ago. -
I miss fruit also, any thing with a skin is a no go for me I so miss things like plums, peaches and tangerines

Just An Fyi If You Need A Tummy Tuck And Thigh Lift....
sakurah replied to spoiltmom's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
My TT is amazing I am totally over the moon with the results, even better than I had ever hoped or imagined. To be honest though, I cant say it made any difference to my saggy thigh skin which collects around my knees. I can live with that though it is easily hid where as my bulging tummy pouch wasnt. Not wanting to put a downer on anyone hoping a TT will cure a thigh problem, just saying in my case it didnt =) -
I heard five mins before my TT surgery that the surgeon was not going to unfill me. This terrified me at the time as I had always been led to believe that it was necessary. The surgeon assured me that it wasnt and that they could use a different anasthetic that would not cause sickness. He was right. I had no problems at all. Slight constriction for a couple of days but that was all. It was great not to have to go through the refill process as I had been at a stable weight for 2 years with no need for any refills.

Wow Wow Wow, I Got A Glimpse Of My New Tummy
sakurah replied to Jachut's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Wow thank you for this. Now when ever I look at my TT scar I will now look at it as a smile on my tummy!!!. Having my TT was the second best thing I have done purely for myself. The first was having my band done. The results are amazing. In my late 40's my figure and flat tummy are better than they were in my teens. I now love my body!!! -
I had my TT done without an unfill which worried me greatly as I was only told that they would not unfill 5 mins before surgery having always been led to believe that any surgery would need an unfill. They also repositioned my portal which having lost weight was very prominent. Now it is nicely tucked away.

Question - Body Image
sakurah replied to mauraclegg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its a strange one isnt it?? I know exactly where you are comming from. I have been at target weight for over 2 years now and it is only now that I am able to pick up clothes mysize and know they will fit me withought thinking they look far to small and reaching for the next size up. I have to admit that I still look at other people and quietly ask my daughter if I am fatter than some one who I think is the ideal size I would like to be. Invariably she tells me in all honesty that I am slimmer. So even now I must still picture myself as larger than I am. -
Old-Timers (3+ Years Banded) Recommitting To The Bandster Lifestyle
sakurah replied to lellow's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi i am a sept 2008 bandster. It was good to see this thread. I have not visited this site for so long. but have done so to help me with a bit of motivation. I lost nine and a half stone after my banding and have maintained fairly well over the last couple of years but I have slipped into bad habbits and know only too well that I am not eating healthily. Yeh I am a chocoholic. guess i always will be but have got lazy lately and am grabbing choc bars instead of eating healthy meals. Anyway day three of my new eating plan and back to the forums for support and motivation. xxxx -
Thats great. You will def need his help. I told my husband and no one else. He was totally against it but I was adamant. Several years on even he agrees it was the best thing I ever did.
-
I am glad to hear that you have maintained and have not had any gains. I think that two years down the line it is so easy to become complacent. I know that this is the case for me. I think sometimes it does us all good to go back to the begining when we were all so focused on what we were eating. This is what I am trying to do at the moment =D.
-
Wow, I cant believe how fast the last couple of years have gone or indeed how much I have changed. It was still the best decision I have ever made. I would love to hear how you are all doing. Lets get this thread kick started I am sure we are all in need of a bit of support.

Hi all, I hope you dont mind me posting on here as technically I am a Sept 08 bandster. Sadly no one from my month seems active. I know that altho I am more or less at target, I have become just a little complacient with my band and am not eating as healthily as I should be. I have returned to the site in the hope of finding some support and motivation. I also feel that I have a great deal of experience and positive support to give to others. Hope it is okay to join you guys. I love my band....It was the best decision I ever made.

:thumbup:thanks for the support simone. Wow you have done great!

Hi all, I was banded in sept 08. I have only just discovered this site. I so wish I had found it months ago and maybe then would not have felt so alone. Thats the problem with keeping it secret from friends and family. It is just so awesome to find others who are going through the same thing :welldoneclap:
