My doctor & support group tell me that straws are a big no no. They encorporate air in the pouch, causing burping etc. Also, I was told no carbonated beverages, b/c of the gas expanding in my pouch. Best of luck to ya!

I was banded 3/30/09- lost 7.5 pounds so far. Struggling to get enough water in. I dont know if anyone else is having this problem, but it seems to be hard for me when I go out to dinner w/ someone, and try to concentrate on eatting my cottage cheese slow enough. I'm so used to being able to just shove it in and swallow, ya know? Anyways, all is well here though. I'm down 15.5 pounds from my 5 days of clear liq pre-op diet. Yay! -

?? for those who worked out prior to being banded

I had a big issue w/ being tired on the pre-op clear liquid diet (5 days) my dr had me on. But they allowed us to have Protein drinks like Isopure on the pre-op diet, which totally helped my energy. As far as being post-op working-out, I've been told to drink my Protein Drink like an hour before I plan to work out & pair it w/ a carb to energy. Also, make sure you are doing ur drinking while working out, it will help. Hope this helped  -
Well, maybe your doctor should've helped clue you in why a person who needs to lose 100 pounds and a person who needs to lose 200 pounds Pre-Op diet being the same.... your liver needs to rest & it needs to strink. Fat people tend to have fat livers. It's an easy answer. Just being honest, maybe you should have the bypass if you are having such a hard time with the 2 week pre-op diet. Just an idea, best of luck

Hey there- Welcome to bandland. I was banded 3/30/09 and just got put on pureed foods today, so you are lucky, haha. I just wanted to agree w/ Susan, the Magic Bullet is the best! I bought one primarily for use w/ this surgery. Good luck!

Hello- So I'm new to the game still. I know it's important to do muscle building or maintaining exercises. So, do i go straight for my elliptical again? or start off slow with the treadmill? Another thing that I'm worried about, when working out, how close to my 2 oz meal? I'm thinking to do a Protein drink right before my workout to help fuel me along. Am I thinking right?

So I'm newly banded, & am still on the "full liquid" phase, but as for a really thin crust pizza, do you have a "Monical's" around where you are? Maybe ask the waiter to make it extra crispy and small bites and chew chew chew! I've been told as far as the cheese, cheese is good it's a Protein. I have no advice on the pancakes! Good luck!!!!!!

Lapband your first surgery ever?
TwilightLover83 replied to ahb08's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can totally understand. Reading your situation was like looking in the mirror. I was sooo worried bout the "going to sleep & not waking up." haha. But, it was a quick nap, well it felt like a quick nap. I am soo happy I did it. I did stay with my parents for the first week post-op to help with getting up & down, and get me my water. Good luck! -

Hey all- Like I've said in a previous post, I am newly banded 3/30/09. I am still on the "full liquid" phase of my diet. I am worried about Easter coming up. I will be on "pureed" by that date. Any tips on what's decent to puree for Easter dinner? Anybody anybody? Thanks!

Advice needed please...
TwilightLover83 replied to TwilightLover83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you all for your responses. I was thinking pureeing a deviled egg & pureeing baked beans (of course, 1 oz of each only.) I'm only to have 2 oz for a meal. I'm still on liquids, is it pathetic that I'm looking forward to my pureed egg & baked beans? haha. -
Hi All- I'm a newbie to Bandland. I was banded on 3/30/09, no real problems so far. Well, unless you count me ending up in the ER on 3/31/09. I went in because I had this horrible tightening pain episode. It came & went, I baffled the ER doc. No problems though, band is were it should after taking the abdominal xrays, etc. I was already dehydrated & had a slight fever though. That came on fast. So now I'm drinking 24/7, well it feels like it anyways. :welldoneclap:
