These posts have been so helpful to me! I thought I was all alone i this. I have 9.5cc's in an 11cc band and also have no restriction. Knowing there are others out there experiencing this is a relief, but doesn't make me any happier about our problem! I have some pain or getting stuck when I eat too fast or don't chew enough. But as long as I follow all the the "rules" I can just keep eating and remain hungry. If anyone has any advice that would be great! -
Hi There! Thanks for the message. I'm doing well, down 30lbs so far (11/11/09 surgery). The social aspect of things has been fine so far, although I don't have any restriction yet. I go for my second fill on 12/31 and maybe that will change things.

Hey Dana, The chest pressure and belching right after surgery can be gas. I had gas chest pressure for about 2 weeks. Make sure you eat slow, even when you move on to mushie food and then solids, eating slowly is so important! The pain you feel under your breast bone is the band, it sounds like eating too fast is the culprit here. A for feeling full, its not painful. The pain starts when you over-do it, which can happen quickly (an extra bite!). Good luck!

I'm doing pretty well! But its only been a few days. Its kinda crazy because I can't feel the band and am so tempted to take a big bite of something! But I'm sticking to the liquids.
Hang in there! We'll be onto pureed foods in no time!

Im glad to hear your surgery went well! Mine went fine also. I am sore and recovering. Im still kinda in awe that I waited ths long and now its done!

Wow! 70 lbs already! That is so inspiring and I am so excited! Like I mentioned before I am nervous, but I think that's normal...who wouldn't be!

Hi there! I get banded on November 11th also! I'm nervous but I think that is to be expected. I have heard such wonderful things about the band.

Hi There,
you wrote to me many months ago about the social aspects of banding. Thank you. My surgery date is finally set for Wednesday November 11th. I have still struggled with deciding to tell people or not and what "post-band"life will be like.
But I have found a lot of helpful people and great posts on LB talk.
How has your progress been? Your stats seems like you are doing great!

Hey All, I'm scheduled for November 11th!! and its so soon!! I have been on the pre-op diet for 8 days (all liquid shakes, nothing else). It seemed pretty easy for the first few days and is getting progressively harder! I know I can keep going, only 2 more days!!! I'm excited but I am also very very scared. I get freaked out by the idea of being put to sleep feeling fine and then waking up knowing I have been cut and have a foreign object inside of me! How crazy! But I am happy none the less. I hope I am able to lose weight fast, although I know it won't come off over night. So, by November of next year all us November Bandsters will be new and healthier people!! :w00t: -

Hey fellow November bandsters! My surgery will hopefully be booked for November, waiting to hear back from my surgeon this week!!! Im so excited I don't know what to say! But I am also very nervous, not about the surgery but about life after the band. Will the scars be bad? will I be able to lose enough weight? Will I need plastic surgery afterwards? These are all the things that run through my mind everyday!! But overall I am so psyched!! -
Surgery date is Oct. 30! Having trouble with pre op diet!

Hey there. Hope your doing well. I was hoping to be banded this month but have to wait till November. 10/30/09 is my bday! I have heard other bandsters talk about eating watermelon or a few slices of cucumber during the pre-op diet. If you don't stick with it you could have your surgery date delayed. The pre-op diet is all about shrinking your liver. Its only a few weeks, you can do it!!! Good luck!
