So inc is now saying I have to have a new evaluation done.. I am annoyed and just want to have this done! I though forsure that I would have this in June.. looks like it will be in july... bummer!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there! I am in the same boat you are, I went to the dr april 9 and I am just waiting on inc approval. I just wish the approval would go faster. Let me know how your doing!!

Yes I felt the same way as you.. I think the deal is just like some one that sells cars.. if he is a ford dealer he is going to sell you a for and if hes a GM dealer hes going to want you to buy a Gm.. so in the bypass field. I believe that if the Dr likes doing more lb then bypass that is going to be what he wants you to do where as if the dr does more bypass then he will want you to do that. Its not that he doens know how to do the other one he just like to do more then the other. On the flip side of it is the Bypass costs more and ofter because of the rapid weight loss it is more likely that you will have to have skin removed..gall bladder removed and so on.. this bringing them more moeny.. I need to lose at least a 140 and I know the lB if for me. I think after you research it you will come to terms with what is best for you..

OMG I was so wondering about this tooo.. I am in the process and waiting on INC to approve before I get to set a date. I like you want to be able every once in a while go out have a good time. I dont go out that often maybe once ever 2 months but thanks for asking the question! good luck to you

Hi all.. so glad there is this room. I am 29 alomost 30 no kids and looking for bandster friends. I have not yet had the operation yet. I went in and everything has been sent to INC. So its a waiting game untill I find out. I am excited but also freaking about the idea of surgery. I know I need to do something drastic but I dont think the full bypass is for me. Anyway does anyone have any advice for pre op and post? Dont give up on me.... -
So you went with the lap band correct? Which Dr did you use? I am thinking that I leaning toward Dr. Niazy Selim. Looks like he has been doing this the longest. I dont know who did you end up using? Sorry I ask so many questions! I just wanna pick the right things!

I am so in the same boat you are! I had my first appointment with the weight loss surgical Center and I am now just waiting on INC. to approve I am praying I find out fast and can get this done this summer! I have been researching for the past 2 years and now i am soooo ready

I am wondering if anyone is out there that has had what happened to me happen to them. I went to the Doctor today and he does more of the full bypass surgerys then lap band. Infact its like 600 full bypass to about 20 lapband. Any way I have research this for over a year and I believe the full bypass is not for me.. I have decided to the Doctor to see about lapband.. I come out more depressed then when I went in. He told me basically he didnt think the lapband would work for me because I have alot of belly fat. and to feel and fill the port would be much work for him! because it would be harder for him to find. So advice are there people that need to lose 150 pounds that have belly fat that have had it done? I feel like just because he specializes in full bypass that he just doesnt like to do lap bands and hes not as knowledge able. I plan to go to another place that only does lapbands but if anyone has advice please reply...:thumbup:

Hey there!! Can you tell me... did you like the surgical weightloss center? I went to a Dr here in Fort Dodge and I dont want to have the big sugery. So any advice on this certer would be great. I calling them first thing in the morning!

Thank you for the reply... I think the doc I went to is wack. but I have went to another one to and he said I should have the big one to... and for me NO WAY... Maybe its just cause this is because for them they do more of the full bypass.. So does anyone have any advie on a Doctor in Des Moines Iowa? I am going to go the weight loss surgical center and check them out since that is all they do is lapbands! Please if anyone has any advice please let me know.. Oh and my BMI is in the low 50's so if people in 60 BMI are getting done why cant I?:thumbup:

Hi everyone!! Can anyone tell me how long it took to hear back from the inc. company to see if you are approved. I have my first appointment with the Dr on the 4th. I was approved last year but I cant remember how long it took to hear back. I am now ready to do it and I can't wait!! Once I decided to do it for me then I have not truned back! I would like to have the surgery end of April I know thats hopeful or the beginning of may!! :smile2:
