4 biggest loser books off amazon, I think with shipping I pd like $35 I am really happy with them. I got the : Complete Calorie Counter Cookbook Fitness Program Simple Swaps Right now I am really "interested" in the Simple Swaps, I think it is really helpful and thought provoking. Months ago from Amazon I bought the The Protein Cookbook Eating Well After Weightloss Surgery While looking at books at Barnes and Noble ( I just look and then I go to Amazon ;o) The 9-Inch 'Diet': Exposing the Big Conspiracy in America by Alex BOGUSKY and Chuck Porter That is a real eyeopener and an "easy" read with lots of pictures. It is amazing the things that have gotten so out of control in our lives with food purchases and servings. I read it in about an hour while sitting in the bookstore. Just wanted to share.

rent the limo thing like the ones used to take you to the airport. Just please don't drive yourself that is a long way. You don't want to have an accident.

Any November 2009 Bandsters??
HappyHomeCC replied to 120inside's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am spaceing out my 1000 cal with things on the list, making sure I have something more filling 3 times a day and filling in with the lo cal stuff.... seems to be easy. I am allowed to have yogurt, cottage cheese and pudding which totally surpised me. so no more than 3 servings a day of those items, so I use those as my bulkier using 2 and 1 Isopure shake as another that is filling. -
My Psych eval, Nut, other drs etc were all covered and paid only a $15 office visit copay. I am sorry you are getting stuck with that bill
-
I have Aetna choice POS II I found out today that I will only have to pay $850 for my surgery, and the fill appts are charged at a $15 office CoPay.!!!! I have a out of pocket max of $1500. And I have met $650 of that this year on other things! I have been impressed with how I have been treated and communicated with. The company my husband is employed with has its own patient advocate nurse, the one assigned to me has had bariatric surgery herself. She spent 1/2 hr talking to me making suggestions etc giving me pointers. I must say I have been happy thus far and I never thought I would say this but this insurance company rocks! I think it does depend what the employer is willing to put on their policies and pay for. I only had to do a 3 month supervised diet.

Struggling with my protein, Please help me my wise friends!
HappyHomeCC replied to Grandma26's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Isopure (powder) has 50 gr per serving and the plain one (isolate)that you could add to yogurt , pudding or things you are cooking is 26 gr. I have said before on here I like to add the vanilla or chocolate to my coffee for a "latte" I buy the natural since I am not hip on the artificial sugars. -
Dr. Douglas Krahn - I love Dr. Krahn

I have heard wonderful things about him. A friend of mine had him for gastric bypass and she says thanks to him she is alive. -
I managed 6 days of MC I ate light for 2 days, and now I am on the preop diet..... I am supposed to have no more than 1000 cal a day and about 65gr of protein, I can have SF pudding , LF cottage cheese, LF yogurt, then SF popsicles, you know clear liquids. I was surprised at the first 3 items. a serving of cottage cheese keeps me full for a long while.... 100 cal and 14 g protein this is easy compared to the master cleanser!
-
i went to my nutrition today too. Preop I can have the Isopure, but for the first few days clean and then at 4 days or was it 5 then full liquids... Isopure is considered full liquid, why? I didn't think to ask.

HappyHomeCC replied to kossde's topic in Insurance & Financing
The initial weigh in is what is submitted, once you are on the supervised diet they expect you will lose a few lbs but that is fine... -

make sure you are OVER 40 BMI so there is no question. If you are under you may have to really fight. or prove 2 other comorbidities!!!! put on ankle weights if you have too under your jeans, but make sure you are over. -

Feeling guilty
HappyHomeCC replied to ahealthierme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A healthireme, I hope you have recovered well and are back on track. Sorry I seemed harsh. I am just sick of my husband bringing home junk food. And while I am fasting I have to cook dinner. You should enjoy yourself, just bring alternate choices for yourself. I let people eat in front of me and enjoy their company, while sipping on a drink. I am learning not to make food the focus of my social life. It is hard. I am sure in no time I will have a group of friends to hang with and do activities as the focus vs food! Hang in there.... sorry about before. -

mastercleanser ROCKS..... I joke with my kids I am fluffy when they cuddle with me..... now I have become squishy with the MC , I am only on day 7 !!!!!!!! I am curious how the Dr will take it ... I mean about the mastercleanser.....Did you discuss it with your Surgeon Elfie? I would think he would be happy to have an easier go since the fat is reduced! I THANK GOD I WILL NOT YO-YO back this time! I am so excited to jumpstart my weightloss. I am resetting my body for a healthful future. -

wls before surgery?
HappyHomeCC replied to moviestartaal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree. but since last Tuesday have been doing the MasterCleanser to detox before I am banded kinda "reseting" Myself. I changed a lot of things already so I was doing this to really jumpstart and clean out, it tends to take away the cravings etc too. I have done this over the years a couple of times and I normally lose 1 pound a day. I was planning on sticking to it for a month when I started( I was given a surgery date after I started LOL) so it looks like that is what I will basically do. I don't want to do all the sugar free stuff since I am anti artificial sweetner person. this should shrink my liver down too and clean me out good. so basically mission accomplished... We shall see. I will talk to them on Wed when I go it to get weighed and see what they say since I may stall at some point ... never have but may.... let them know what I am doing and why. Hopefully I will lose more than 10 but if not so be it. I have gone above and beyond to prepare for this so I will keep trucking on. -
