Thought I'd put a face to my name...I'm doing great, feeling great and looking good for an old woman of 50. I'm a slow loser, mainly because I don't always follow band rules.

I am a slow looser. My gripe is...we as bandsters are supposed to lose slow...we are to average out in weight loss in 2-3 years in comparison to RNY patients...why does the surgeon get upset if we don't loose too much in a month's time...personally I may be going slow, but I'm doing fine...I'm feeling fine, and I'm looking good for an old woman of 50. I'm 7 months out, lost 30 since surgery, 37 total and have gone from 18/20 to a loose 14 in clothes. So why are we so hard on ourselves?

Well, I was on a plateau for about 3-4 wks. I had a fill done on 20 June...I had only lost .4 oz in that time. Anyway, I got .6 ccs to make a total of 2 ccs in my band....I finally feel restriction. I've lost about 3 lbs since then so FINALLY some action. My clothes are all fitting better and better if not they are too big and it's time to SHOP. Having fun with this band. Dee

Well this was my 4th fill...I had an unfill after my 2nd fill, cause it was too tight and I was PBing everything...the 3rd fill didn't do anything for me...but this one seems to be doing the trick. Thanks for your support.

Hello everyone, Just wanted to greet you all and tell you a little about myself. I am a 50 year woman, married to a wonderful man, have 3 grown kids, 5 lovely grandchildren. I was banded on 2/2/06 and at this point I am down 30 lbs. I've had 3 fills and 1 unfill. I'm scheduled to go back on Tuesday, but I may have to reschedule as I have a new job and Tuesday is when we do the Hematology clinic...it may be hard for me to get away. Anyway, my weight loss has been slow, but the inches are coming off quickly. I've gone from an 18/20 or even 22 to a 14/16. Everyone says there is a big difference in my appearance. And I'm happy with that. At this point, I just need to a plateau breaker, I've been at this weight for about 3 weeks. Any suggestions? 225 postop 218 day of surgery 188 now 150 goal. Dee

How has Lap Band changed your life?
DELIAHERNANDEZ replied to shell4me's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
The lap band help me lose the weight (even though I am only 4 months postop), I've lost 30 lbs and have gained a smaller size but a bigger value in myself, my self-esteem, my energy level. I am not a diabetic, nor did I have high blood pressure, but I did have sleep apnea which is gone now...I guess how it changed my life is IT MADE ME HEALTHIER... -
So Nervous I postponed LB surgery
DELIAHERNANDEZ replied to NervousNellie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You've got to realize that this is your thing...you control your band and the effects. In reality, you have to make the decision to commit yourself to this procedure. You've already gone this far...you should do well. The sliming and PBing is what you can control with making the right food choices and with taking your time to eat. Just let go and let GOD...he'll see you through it all. Dee
