  1. Hello everyone, I was banded almost 9 months ago and I went from 207lbs to 134lbs. Do not get discouraged, please...................... I was told after the surgery that my first fill would not be until 8-12 weeks after the surgery I listened and during that time only lost 10lbs. I wasn't very happy at the beginning but after I started going to get my fills I started losing anywhere from 8-10lbs a month. I don't know why the doc is so conservative about the fills. I was fine my first two fills I started losing the weight then by the third one I was too restricted so I went back as soon as I felt uncomfortable. Some saline was removed and I was back on track again. During my weight loss I also felt I was not restricted enough and made an appointment and had more saline added. It is true that each of us will be in search of that perfect amount that will aid in the weight loss and not make it to restricted but the doc needs to allow you to find that point. Do you have free fills for a year after surgery? That may be one reason why he is only allowing the 1 fill like that. Be patient and don't give up. You will get there. Marie
  2. Hello everyone My name is Marie and I was banded July 8, 2008. For anyone who is not sure about going to Monterry Mexico with Dr. Zapata I can asure you that you will have a great experience. On July 8, 2008 I weighed 207lbs today almost 9 months later I now weigh 134lbs and very proud of myself. I thought I would have a very hard time but eating, drinking, and exercising is very important. If you have been struggling for a very long time with different diets that just don't work this is for you. From the moment you arrive to the day you leave, Dr Zapata and his team are very professional, friendly, and give you all the information you need to succeed. The best thing about it is that Ready4Achange assist in making all the reservations and you don't have to worry about anything. Just get there and get ready to change your life for the better. Thanks, Marie
  3. Mr ksill18 You have the right not to trust what people say and I didn't mean it to sound like a sales pitch but I am really happy with the results. I had been struggling with my weight for about 10 years now and at least for me Dr Zapata and his team made a miracle of something I thought I could never accomplish. I have my before and after pictures I just havent downloaded them yet but I will be posting them so that like you there may be others who still don't believe and again it is understandable because I have also heard of business who actually post positive feedback to get people to look at thier products but this fortunately is the real deal  Thank you Mrs_Mauricio and you will also get to your goal weight. Just stay positive and have patience. God Bless You Marie

    Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Anyone?

Hello My name is Marie and I have PCOS. I was banded July 2008 and at that time weighed 207lbs. 9 months later I have lost 73lbs. I am hoping this has helped because I now have regular periods for the past 5 months, my acne has really deminished, and I am still trying for a baby so if losing the weight helps me accomplish this then I truly do recommend the banding. Just being 73lbs lighter I can honestly say if those of you that are still contemplating it dont think about it any further. DO IT  Marie
  5. Cari, Please don't get discouraged. When I got banded in July 2008. They told me I could not go for a fill until 3 months after surgery. I listened and lost about 10lbs in the first 3 months. I too was thinking twice about it since I wanted it all to come off in those three months. Once I started going to have the fills every month without fail and looked forward to it I started losing between 8-10lbs a month. But you have to be really true to yourself and really monitor the foods consumed. The drinking and eating at the same time is really something I discourage. I use to love to eat and drink but that is very important in how you feel. You should feel fool with small portions but that means no drinking at the same time. Almost 9 months later I am now weighing 134lbs and I am almost at my goal weight (128lbs). Keep working at it and go every month for the fills. One more thing...... If with in that week that you go for a fill you feel you are doing all the necessary things to accomplish 1-2 lbs of weight loss and you are not losing you can go and have more of the saline added or removed (Just a thought). The reason I say this is because I did when I felt it was not restricted enough and I also went back when I felt I was losing too much weight too fast. So, it is all up to you and how you feel. My prayers are with you. Marie
