    Band coming out.

So sorry you are having these issues with the band. I hate to hear it when someone else has to have it removed. I too had to have mine removed. I did really well with my band and ended up having "esophagus" problems. The doctor took my band out and my BMI was not large enough for another surgery also. That doctor told me not to worry, I would gain my weight back and then be qualified... Hmm... Well, he was correct. I have been depressed after the loss of my band and I have gained all but 30 pounds back. Never feel full again and am at wits end. Cannot get another surgery now because I lost my insurance and cannot afford self pay. My heart goes out to you and to what you will go through. I pray you are stronger than I. I miss my band and miss my smaller body. Try hard to not gain even a pound or it just seems all of it comes right on back. I will keep you in my prayers.... :sad:Sherry
  4. Start a club that collects them and sends them out to all past banders. I had to have mine removed and have gained 1/2 my weight back. So.... All those fat clothes I never thought I would need again, are now in need.

    Poll: Medical ID Bracelet

When I had my band I just purchased a medical bracelet for general purposes and always carried my band card with me. It worried me that if I had an accident that my port or band might complicate matters in saving my life.

    Alternate Surgery After Band Removal?

I wish my doctor would have been able to do a revision to the sleeve for me at the time I had my band removed. Seemed like all he wanted to do was get it out of me. Too thin for the gastric bipass now, BMI is too low. Still weigh 198 pounds! Frusterating! Go for the Sleeve! I wish I had been given that choice.

    Alternate Surgery After Band Removal?

Had my band removed in December and am depressed. I have been told I "WILL" regain all my weight by my doctor. He is not the one who put my band on, and specializes in Gastric Bipass. But anyhow, I am not heavy enough anymore to qualify for that one. I need help feeling full! I am scared and miss my band so much! I felt the band was the answer to my prayers and not it is gone. I feel like someone took a piece of me away. After my surgery for removal of my band, the doctor never even called to check on me. It has been since December 21 and I still have not heard from him except I did get his bill. Hmmm.... Let me know if you have advise as to how I can keep from gaining that awefull weight back?????((((((
  8. HI. My name is Sherry and I am having a difficult time since the removal of my band in Dec 2008. I had to have it removed per Dr. because of Esophagus problems and a hiatel (spelling error there!) hernia. Miserable! Want my band back and of course, it worked pretty well for me, I am under 200 pounds, and now I am "too thin" for the gastric. As if I could afford it now anyhow. Is there anyone with advise or solutions?????
