Same thing happened to me. I quit exercising a few days ago and have already lost a couple pounds since then. We know we should exercise but it is frustrating to work so hard and not lose!

-UPDATE- So I had my upper GI on Tuesday and went back to see my surgeon today. He said everything looked normal on the film but he still couldn't draw any Fluid out of my port. CRAP!!! He did give me a (big) fill this time, but who knows what's going to happen with that. We are going to try again in 2 weeks, and if it is still not working right, he said we would replace the band. Please send positive thoughts that it works out next time. I really don't want to have surgery again! Do you think it sounds like a leak? I just moved to a new city and on Monday I saw my new LB surgeon for a fill. He couldn't get any fluid out of my port AND he couldn't put any fluid in. What the heck is that about?????? My port is really easy to access, so I'm pretty sure he was hitting it. Now I have to go get an upper GI to see what is going on. Has anyone else had this problem?

Ok, so I found out tricare prime doesn't cover lap band but I have heard of people with tricare that did have it done. So if you did, what did you do to get them to cover it? Thanks!

Has it helped as far as over eating goes? I have been putting it off, but now I know I need to go. I have not been eating how I should the last couple months and I need to know why I am always sabotaging myself! I have been dreading therapy. The only time I've ever been was right before surgery, because it was required. I absolutely HATE talking about my feelings, so I was really hoping I could skip the therepy stuff. But I really want to be NORMAL, and I really really hope this helps. I've had a wonderful life, and wonderful childhood, so I feel like I must just be a lazy pig that doesn't actually have any issues. So anyway, I have an appointment next Wednesday. How has it helped you?

I hated those shakes. I switched to Unjury, and I actually STILL drink them 8 months post-op. Yummy.

I lost 40 before I could see any difference. I still don't think it's very obvious. No one really says anything.

6 cc's on first fill normal?
amberakamom replied to 1970MaleJaxFL's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My first fill was 5.5 cc's, and my next one was .6. My surgeon said it was like blowing up a balloon, you need a lot of air to get it going, but after the initial fill, you just need small amounts to make a big difference. -
I have never slimmed, or PB'd or been stuck.

Did anyone have a liver biopsy when they got the lap band done?
amberakamom replied to Latin_Nena82's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had it too. -
1-2 days a week I don't count calories. I don't do it to lose more weight, I just do it so that I don't feel deprived. Works fine for me.

How long after surgery did you see the lbs start to go down?
amberakamom replied to lee_nyc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I gained 15 lbs from the fluids in the hospital, but by 1 week post op that was all gone plus 6 more pounds. -
My husband is a Marine, AND a GIANT PIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That man eats more than anyone I have ever met! When I cook dinner, he usually ends up making himself a second dinner. When he cooks, it is enough for the whole Marine Crops. Luckily he eats leftovers. I do a lot in the crockpot. I don't think there is anything wrong with pizza, we usually get it once a week.

Is anyone else a nerdy-goodie two shoes and SO careful since being banded?
amberakamom replied to BandedKitten's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like you'll do great! -
I have my next appt on June 10th, and I can't decide if I want a fill or not. I am almost never hungry but I can still eat a lot more than I should. Almost as much as before surgery. I also still eat too fast and my bites are too big. Hard habit to break if you don't HAVE to. I count calories most days so that keeps me from pigging out, but I wonder if I need more fill. I have never been stuck, pb'd puked, etc..., and I don't want to. I have had 2 fills. My first was 5.5 cc, and my second was .6 cc. I have an 11 cc band. Maybe just a tiny fill? Any advice???
