So... got some work to do.
viprvenm replied to viprvenm's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First of all let me thank you all for your support and kind words! I have been getting the same from close friends and family and we all know how important that is. I am thankful for that. I joined the gym my wife goes to and the day of my consult I went to the gym and started walking on the treadmill. This is what my doc recommended most for me at this time. I did .5 mile the first night and .7 mile last night. I plan on taking it slow and am meeting with a personal trainer next week to discuss safe steps for my weight and ability. My doc also told me to use Atkins diet which I have somewhat started. This is a huge change for me even starting to workout/walk. I have decided to cut all breads, rice & Pasta. I have cut fried foods as well. I am not following Atkins 100% yet because I still have suaces and whatnot on meats, but I have made a radical change in my eating habits and I am proud of myself. I am going to contiue reading and learning about Atkins and slowly work my way to following it by the book. My next big battle is to stop using caffeine. This one I am not too excited about, but I will slowly get down to not needing it. I have mentioned this before I believe, but my wife is type 1 diabetic and is a HUGE help in having the strength to accomplish these tasks... we are helping one another! Anyhow I am curious to see what my weight is this coming Monday. When I left the office after talking with my surgeon and his fitness expert I agreed to walk 1-2 times a week. After leaving I thought to myself ... why can't I walk every day? Well this is what I am doing. I am ready to loose this weight and have this surgery!!! Wow... that blew up into a blog didn't it? LOL Thanks again for the support! It means a great deal to me! Jason P.S. I turned 30 today.... YEESH! HAHAHAHA!!!!!! -
Finally get to have my intial consult this coming Monday 4-27 and am more than ready! I am anxious, curious & excited. Just hoping I don't have to wait some 6 months more to have the actual surgery done. Wish me luck! Jason Hopeful in WA

What did you tell your young child?
viprvenm replied to SpideyMom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My daughter is 3 1/2 and I told her the moment I decided to go to the seminar! She is one supportive little advocate of Daddy "getting smaller!" She has told me that I am being a big boy for going to see the doc and that she wants to go with me to hold my hand when it hurts! How cute is that... seriously? My son just turned 1 so it is likely he will not remember me being big which won't hurt my feelings at all. I have my initial consult this coming Monday 4-27 and am more than ready! Good luck to you as well! Jason in WA -
What do you tell your kids?
viprvenm replied to WDW Luver's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My daughter is 3 (4 in June) and I have told her that Doctor Fox is going to help Daddy be able to have more fun with her. Daddy is "going to get smaller and healthier." We talk about it almost daily and she says that she will give me big hugs for being a good Daddy! Nothing like having support from EVERYone!!! Jason -
Met With My Surgeon Today
viprvenm replied to rumraisin70's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why are you having to wait 3 months? I am due to meet with my surgeon on Apr 27th and am curious as to what the meeting entails other than the medical history discussion and the physical. Jason -
Jason from Tri-cities. Turning 30 on 4-29-09. Married to Dana with daughter Lauren (3) & son Tyler (1). Weight: Do I seriously have to say.... haha 475+ and 100% ready to have Dr. Fox Band me. It is past time to get my life on the right track. I am very lucky not to have diabetes yet and want to fight to beat it before it rears its ugly head along with the multitude of other weight related health conditions. I got diagnosed in Feb 2008 with high blood pressure. I am ready to watch my kids grow, have more energy, play with my kids & do all the things they want me to be able to do. My wife, Dana, is a true joy to live with and I want more!!! I am not ready to die... life is too much fun! I have attented the seminar for NW WLS and also Dr. Fox's seminar in Richland. I have decided to use Dr. Fox & my initial consultation is Apr 27! What a birthday present to myself huh? HaHa!! It looks like this site will be very helpful, uplifting, informative & supportive. I can't wait to start posting results someday soon! Jason
