  1. Before I lose weight I gain and then lose, gain then lose, and so on then finally the pounds are gone and I start on another 1 or 2 pounds. But it seems like just before I start to lose it I continue like that for a while. I know it's weird....

    June 2006 Band Crew

Pinkylee it comes after I have had that slime stuff, the sliming did not last very long, but it made me nauseous for about 12 hours after, just a little nauseous.

Have you ever had nauseousness after the sliming?

For VG 10 cc Bandsters ONLY

I have a 11cc Vanguard band and am filled to 6cc so far very restricted for the last month or so. So much so that I would be afraid to get anymore until it has loosened a bit. I've only lost about 28 pounds since June 7th but am not excersizing everyday on treadclimber and hope that speeds it up some. I no this is not a race but would like to see a acceptable weight while I'm somewhat young.
  6. It will depend, I am still swollen at times. I was banded on June 7th, 2006. I was led to believe the swelling will be there for along time, sometimes it is worse than others. I know that everything is kinda scarey right now so if you have any doubts as to how your feeling I would call the doc that is what you pay them for. I know anytime I felt weird I called my doctors nurse and everytime I would give symptoms that I thought were definately strange it would make me feel better to find out it was only normal. I wish you luck in your journey of a new life.

    Holy Moley!

BitterOldHag: I can definately say that anytime I have ate chicken I have lots of trouble in store. I have totally give it up! I hope your mom will be okay, I know how that is since my mom passed 2 days before surgery. I went through with the surgery and that went off with no complications at all. Can't say the same for my mom's death though.
  8. I do believe you will be weak for sometime, but should start feeling better soon. I did not eat anything at first for about 5 days except clear liquids, as far as strange things going on that will be happening thoughout this journey. I'm sure things will be fine, and I also have what I believe is the largest band which is a 11cc Vanguard band. I am filled now at 6cc and so far have what I think is perfect restriction. Good Luck and you will get tons of help in this forum, I don't know what I would of done without it.

    June 2006 Band Crew

I have the slimes now about 2 a week and the other day I had it and I was nauseous for about 12 hours, has anyone every had this happen? I could not figure it out but at least it went away and I have lost another pound.

Am I the only one that eats like this?

I can understand how that could happen but so far for me it has worked just the opposite as far as eating to slow, it is such a pain in the butt to sit down and eat that I find myself not doing it. It takes me about a hour or so to eat a well balanced meal and never could I finish it even if I wanted too, I am so burnt out on chewing and sitting I just want to get on with my life. I often think that is how this band works, it burns you out on eating.:faint:

Anyone afraid to tell their boss?

If you would like my thoughts on this I would NEVER tell anyone! I made the mistake in letting everyone know and it was the wrong choice as far as putting myself on display for everyone to be wondering how much I have lost or haven't lost. It stirs up all kinds of issues.

    Guess my Weight

People I know do know I had the surgery and I am sick of them asking how much weight have you lost? I just got where I just say I threw the scale next door to let the neighbor worry about it, I don't know. I do of course weight myself, but as long as my clothes keep fitting lose, who cares? As far as people treating you different I can say get used to it. There are definately people who will treat you different when your thinner. To those I just think @%&*!#you. But always try to treat everyone nice.

    OMG - Ouch

I am pretty tight right now and have always been able to eat loosly scrambled eggs, I always put milk in them and that really helps alot. Usually scrambled eggs are all I can eat after my 3 days of liquids.

My Nightmare at the ER in Atlanta, GA.

You know I always question any doctors as well as thier advice. I am constantly reading on this forum about asking your doctor and that is wonderful and a very smart thing to do, but they are not God and as much as a lot of them would like to think they are, ALWAYS ALWAYS question them. Seems the money and power of being in that postion gets in the way of their real reason they became a doctor in the first place. So sorry this happened to you. Big Hug for you....

That was very informing, please let me know what happened to you, as I find this sort of thing a huge problem with people and would like to stay informed the issues are. Hope everything turns out fine.:girl_hug:

    PB v Slimes

Okay, I know that horrible feeling so WELL, not so much lately because I am finally learning all the warning signs. Sometime walking for me just makes it worse, I have found that raising my arms and putting them on top of my head and holding my breath makes is last much less. You may of tried this. I pbed one time for an hour and half and I can tell you I really thought I was going to die! It was such a bad experience for me that I sometimes just refuse to even try to eat, which really is not a bad things as long as I do all my Vitamins and Protein stuff. I mean that is kinda what's it is all about, losing all this fat and staying healthy at the same time. I know one thing my feeling of food is certainly changing for the better. I myself have only thrown up once and that was the one that lasted 1 1/2 hours. I will never forget that! I truely hate to throw up but it was such a relief when I did. So I am still wondering if pbing is throwing up or just having the slime coming out of your mouth? I thought it was kinda both. Anyone else have any thoughts?

    Plateau Buster Tricks?

Kim I was on that plateau just a few weeks ago...I didn't do anything different to get off it and low and behold woke up one morning and 2 pds gone for good. This gave me the encouragement I needed to start back excercising. I know that that plateau can really drag you down, it certainly did me. Good Luck

    PB v Slimes

You know I have had both slime and vomit (little food) the sliming is horrible feel in your chest and amounts of clear slim coming out of your mouth. I don't know if sliming is the same as pbing and if it is not what is pbing other than productive burping, what the @##$% is that? I have ask this same question before but no one really responsed except someone did say sliming was the same as vomiting. I really did not ever get a clear answer other than that. I do know that the vomiting is much more of a relief than the sliming. Any replies or thoughts here? Anyone?

    Does anyone ever feel...

mini-oink days? That is the coolest, hope you don't mind if I use it.

    Confused

I think everyone of us here did do it without the band but just kept coming back. Also when you see results of what the band is doing and the weight is not coming back on, (like so many times before) the excersize and eating right will not be such a dreaded task.

    Divorce

I'm so sorry to hear of your divorce....I know it must be very hard with the children. I am with Tired Old Man though when it comes to telling them they absolutely had nothing to do with it. You definately need to assure them of that! As for myself I had a wonderful divorce and felt I would marry him again just to get that feeling back (Ha Ha!) It was great to be rid of him. I had no children though.
  25. I felt the same way in the calorie counting thing. I was wondering what these people were doing counting their calorie intake when they went through surgery to hopefully be done with all that stuff that never worked anyway. I don't count my calories but certainly do watch what I eat. I know I do not even eat a 1/4 of what I used to eat and that in it's self has got to show on the scale. I believe it is alot slower process if you do not go on the diets some of these people are on, but I have consistantly read on this forum that this is not a race. I do think some like the competitive part of it though. I have decided to do what works best and that is the excersizing and watching the food intake, I hate that counting calories and logging everything down that goes in your mouth.
