How do you know if you have a leak?
-
Personally I have been on both sides of the fence. I've been fat and I've been thin and trust me when your thin people fall over themselves to be around you and help you or whatever you need. When I put on lots of weight that all ended. I know this from experience that the world is always looking at people on the outside not the inside and that is the way it will stay, at least I know I will never see the day that it will be any different.

I definately know how your feeling as well. I often think to myself when I am eating if I would of ate like this in the past I wouldn't need this band! I was banded on June 7th 2006 so I'm a newbie to this and just wanting it to work a little faster as well. I was also wondering what the success rate is on the band? I am so thankful I got this band but often wonder if it will really work? I guess that is the negative thinking that invades my brain once in a while. Alot of the time I feel like I did before as far as having to watch what I eat all the time, it's like dieting with a band now though.

Who decides that I am unbalanced???

I don't think they give you a way to get around it. I wouldn't worry though as long as your doing this for the right reason. In other words I wouldn't say I wanted to lose weight for my boyfriend or something like that. -
I could actually feel them when they broke, they did not ever put me under a screen the doctor I guess knew it was ok, I guess he could feel it. Im glad to hear your doing well
-
I did break my stitches loose from the port and the doctor just put me on some antibotics and sent me home. I could actually feel it when the stitches came loose. Hope everything is okay with you

This must be something going around, I woke up this a.m. and port kinda swollen and weird felling once in a while. I gained 3 pounds when I weighed in this am and almost commented harry carry. Don't know what the problem is but hope it goes away pronto. Sometimes I wonder about this surgery and how it does some weird things like this. I haven't eaten nothing more than usual. Surgery date June 7th 2006

My throat not only felt weird but my voice seem to change after the first fill, it was really freaky. Not to worry though everything went back to normal.

I had something very simiular happen to me about 3 weeks ago. Went to doc and yes I do believe I tore some stitches loose. Just had to rest for a few weeks until they grew back together or whatever. It was swollen and red he also put me on antibotics.
-
Yes I feel the same thing as far as some days I can eat everything and lots of it, and others not much. I am on my 2 fill and am hoping for the fill that sticks.
-
Has anyone every had their stetches break loose around the port? Mine have and I had surgery on June 7th. The doc didn't seem to worried he just put me on antibotics and let me go. The port was a bit swollen and a little red. I could actually feel the stitches break, weird. Should I be concerned? Please help :help:

Well I'm going for a fill on Monday (2) fill I hope this does it as far as hitting that sweet spot. Also I feel like if he can hit the port I'll be okay as far as the stitches breaking loose. Thanks you guys for your knowledge and support.:nervous

I'm glad to say the surgery was a snap, but now my stitches have torn loose around the port and although the doc don't seem worried I am. Has this happened to anyone else? I could actually feel them pop loose, weird! I have lost around 25 pounds since surgery and I have had one fill which did not do a thing. Can't have another till I heal now which doc says 2 weeks or so. :cry Should I be concerned over the stitches coming loose or what?:phanvan

Has anyone ever experienced the stitches tearing lose from the inside of the stomache? It feels very strange when it happens. what was your experience?
-
I'm not sure because when I went to the Doc he didn't seem concerned so we did not take any xrays. He looked at the port and saw it was a little red and swollen and said sometimes those stitches pop out, but that seemed weird to me. This is why I'm asking you guys, I know someone has had this same problem and would like to know what thier doctor did. I had surgery on June 7th 2006

Does anyone out there know anything about band slippage? How do you know it has happened? Please let me know.

:hungry: Hi out there just got over the lab band surgery on the 7th of June, am starving all the time but can't have the fill till the 26th of June any one have any advice for me that would be helpful?
-
My doctor does not use a screen to do his fills.... what is everyone thought on that? Is it to primative or what?
-
Hi everyone, I'm looking to see how everyone else's care is comparing with mine. I got banded in Canon City by a doctor named Tim Brown, he has been around for about four years doing these bands. I was banded on June 07, 2006 in Canon City Colorado and live in Pueblo. I got my first fill on July 10th or so. Except for the first few days I barely felt any different as far as not being able to eat. Seems like yesterday that was all I did!:hungry: Does anyone have any advice as to what their experience was? I need all the help I can get in this experience for I know of no one else who has had this done.

I am starting to wonder about my choice.

Dovie, please stay in touch and let me know how you came out. I personally had no regrets in the surgery but then I had been thinking about it for years, just a waiting game to see when the insurance would finally pay off.
