Does anyone know how many fills it takes before one finally sticks? I have been having fills every month for 3 months and wondering when it will stay and for how long?
-
I have been going every month since my surgery and now on number 3 fill I am restricted, I love it and I am very satisfied on the way it it only letting me eat about 1/2 a cup or less, depends on the day. I do think the U.S. doctors go very slow on their fills. I could always feel my fills the very day he did it, only they would not last at all. It has been a week and half since my fill and I very much feel it now......It's great!!!!:clap2:

Well the problem with that is he doesn't have one of those floro screens or whatever they are. But that sounds like a wonderful idea!!!:clap2:

I ate a hotdog the other day of course it was not with the bread and it was great the only thing that hasn't got stuck for days.......

Barbara after I read you reply I wish I had done it this way....I'm kinda sick of being ask how much weight have you lost and wondering why I don't look like the other girl that had that other successful surgery...
-
Definately open!!!! I love to talk about it and answer questions for the most part. Although when your open and you don't lose as fast as the girl with the gastric bypass people are usually thinking whatever you had done is not working. I hate that part of it.....

Does anyone know why the diet after fills? I do 3 days clear liquids then mushys, (not that I follow it more than 2 days of the clear) Anyone know why the water is such an important part of the plan? Other than skin and the fact that water is good for you. I was just wondering if sometimes I should get my own program like 2 days liquids and 4 day mushys or something like that. I certainly don't want to mess up the band though. Any thoughts would be very helpful they are always:confused:

Well I did and it worked just fine...sometimes I just like to step out of the box, as long as it's not something to far from the guide lines I usually do fine.......Thanks for the change though
-
Doing on your own? I have done it on my own thousands of times, what are they saying? As I look at all the people who are like me and done it on there own at least as many times as I. We just decided to get a little help now and hopefully it will be the help that makes it be the final and last time.

Boy that's true I got a puppy too, and I also hold her bone while she chews on it, I love it. Not to mention the number of times it takes to get up and check on her and running around trying to housebreak her as well :faint: -

I was banded last Monday and feel it very much I can hardly eat at all without either getting it stuck or feeling full in 1/2 cup or less. Does anyone know when they start to finally stick? I've been going for a fill every month so far and surgery was on June 7th 2006?

I too love my hair and it is coming out. I do know though that I went under a treatment for a health issue years ago and it made my hair come out so bad I had to clean the brush everytime I used it, although no one ever ever notice it was getting thinner. I am worried but since this has happened before I can see that it is just something I need to chill about and try to forget it. Just look at the positive and realize I too as well as my hair are both thinning this time. LOL

I have a 10cc band and it is filled to 4.5 and I can definately FEEL it for the first time almost, but not complaining because I can hardly eat anything. Really don't want to because it seems to keep getting stuck right now anyway.
-
I agree with you Anaed, what a nightmare without the expertize of this people who have been around awhile. I have got things stuck before and have a 10cc band that will evidually let it go through, but it is a AWFUL experience and don't what that to happen no more.

I definately can relate to alergic reactions, I spent 1 year trying to get over a reaction I had to some meds that just didn't like me.
-
I'm still wondering about swelling after a fill - does this happen, and if so, does it affect restriction? Why do I read so often about a fill not really "kicking in" until a week or so after? Would all this be reason for recommending liquids or mushies after a fill? I just had a fill (my third) and I can see my port is definately swollen! I have not read any logic on why other than the needle. I know my fill kicked in the day I got off clear liquids.
-
I also wonder what the logic is, I go 3 days of Clear Liquids and yes I agree that you will know what to eat from there. Wondering why all the Water as well? My doctor told me gadorade is best, but it has calories in it. Not something I need. I am going out of the box and going to try my on experiment this time. I am going with liquids in for 2 days and mushys for 5 or so. I have made the mistake of getting a few things stuck so I am now "gun shy" so to speak. I think if you go to 50 doctors your going to get different answers for the most part.
-
How do you guys get that scale at the bottom of your screen?
-
I agree with Donna I think the band size is most important, I have a 10cc band and so far so good.
