    Hey! Thanks so much for your reply. I will check out the website. When I was doing my pre-surgery diet I used dailyplate.com but afterwards it just seemed so hard because I was eating like 1/24th of something. idk. . . I will figure it out and try counting. Thanks. :001_smile:

    Hey Maddie: I am sure that I need to watch my carbs and I thank you for your answer. In my response to what I ate, on average, everyday I don't actually eat all that in a day. I was giving a few options of the choices I make for every meal. It would be pretty obvious that I had a carb problem if I ate crackers, sandwhiches, fruit, oatmeal, granola, etc everyday. Sorry for the confusion and again. Thanks for your concern.

    Thanks so much coops! Everything you are saying makes a lot of sense. . . Technically for my height and weight I still fall into the "overweight" category so medically speaking I probably need to loose a few more pounds, but that being said I don't have any weight related medical problems (anymore) so I guess health wise, no I don't need to lose more weight. I just want to. I do feel better and more energized. I am thankful for the surgery and the weight I have already lost, it's just frustrating when you thought/wanted to lose more and all of a sudden you stop losing. I am probably not drinking enough, in fact i know i'm not. I have improved, but have been unable to get in the full 64oz a day (even 32 is sometimes hard for me). This was something I had a difficult time with even before surgery. Thanks for all your encouraging words. New plan: - continue on vegetarian ways - increase Protein and fluids - keep exercising - try not to be discouraged Love you guys.

    Hello and thank you to you both. Maddie - It's not just the pounds that aren't decreasing, my size has stayed the same as well. I am trying to stay positive, but i'm just getting discouraged. goodlife - I haven't tracked my eating since the first week after surgery. I found it extremely difficult because I would have 1/24th or 1/10 of something I made at home and it didn't seem worth it. i would say the average day looks like this: -breakfast: Protein shake, granola/oatmeal - lunch: 1/2 Peanut Butter sandwhich / leftover dinner / salad - dinner: whatever i have on hand - salad, veggie casserole, fruit casserole, bean quesadilla, Pasta, etc - snacks: veggies or fruit (maybe with ranch dressing), few crackers. . . I've obviously had days where I made bad food choices, but this is pretty much what I've been eating for a while now. I have just increased protein, trying to get at least 60g a day.
  7. Hello all! I am asking for good advice about how to jump start weight loss. I have currently lost 75 pounds and thats great, im not complaining about that. I have however been around the same weight for about 6 months. I am so sad. I have started exercising more but that hasn't helped. I also recently became vegetarian to see if that would jump start it, but i've seen little results. What should i do? I want to continue to lose weight. My goal is/was 145lbs. Should i resign to the fact that maybe i won't get there? Please help, any advice is appreciated. Ainsley:crying:
  8. I know stalls can be frustrating. I have been my current weight for months now and am trying everything I can to get the ball rolling. I just started loosing again and really want to keep going in the same direction. All I can say is stick with the exercise, eat ALL of your PROTEIN, drink water, and like Tiffykins said, its all about how your clothes fit. You could bee loosing inches and fat, but gaining muscle. Physically, its more about how your clothes fit and how your shape looks vs actual weight in lbs/kg. Good Luck and don't worry, it will happen.
  9. Hello. No I don't have any problems with my bp at all (as far as I know). I don't take any medication. I don't know. . . I will be seeing the doctor soon and will tell you all what he says. Thank you all for your input! I will bring some of these ideas up to him and see what happens. Keep sharing your ideas and experiences!
  10. I am about a year out now and ever since I had the surgery, I have been suffering from blackouts. I don't faint, but I loose my vision, get dizzy, and a really bad headache from all the blood rushing to my head at once. I thought I read somewhere that it might be due to a lack of Protein, and I upped my protein intake, but it still happens every so often. I have an appointment with my PCP, but just wanted to know if anyone on here had something similar.

    Hiccups when full

    The hiccup is my sign that I'm full and I don't take another bite, to do so would mean being miserable and possibly getting sick. I am almost a year out and the hiccups don't happen every time I eat, but they still happen. It's really not that bad. My mom who was also sleeved gets a runny nose which I think is worse than some cute little hiccup. (by the way I have only ever hiccuped once or twice at a meal and they are not any bigger than presleeve hiccups)

    Calling all experts

    Hey, I am so happy for you that you had the surgery and I wish you luck on your way. I think the following items may be good for you to try out: - yogurt (watch out for sugar) - homemade fruit smoothie (you make it with frozen fruit, OJ, scoop of vanilla Protein powder and some either s/f ice cream or yogurt) - hard boiled egg - soups - popsicles (s/f of course ) - steamed veggies - fruit, fruit and more fruit. (I would try watermelon and oranges - they seem to go down easily for me and my mom - both sleeved) Also, when/if you have veggies or later on meats, it is really helpful to have a dipping sauce like ranch dressing or ketchup, etc, to help everything go down in the right direction. hope this helps
  13. Even though I have not had direct experience with this, I do know that your insurance should cover any complications you may be having even if you had the surgery outside the country. They have to cover it if it is serious and is affecting your health. My mother just returned home last week from Mexico with some slight complications and her PCP checked them out and she was fine with her insurance (she has kaiser though) I wouldn't worry about it, but you could always call your insurance company and ask if you are covered for complications due to surgeries you pay out of pocket for.     Dehydration Issues.

    I really need some help with drinking water. I carry around a bottle with me all day, and I feel like i am sipping constantly, but I cannot even get to 32 oz a day. I am now 1 month out and feeling the dehydration badly. I don't know what to do. especially now that i am eating real food and can't drink for 1/2 before and after i eat, it is becoming harder to get in the water. . . ideas?
