My doctor takes a very slow and cautous approach. I have been banded now for almost 11 weeks and still I have no fill. He says that the longer you can go without a fill its better on the band. The chances are smaller of slipage. I go back on Thursday and I am hoping and praying for a fill I have no restriction at all right now. But as long as I lose 1-2 pounds a week he won't give me one and being on a 1000 calorie a day allows that to happen but my gosh its hard. I am hungry most of the time.

I have a dobie she is 15 years oldactually almost 16. She is part of our family we keep her inside. She was rasied with both of our kids (playing, sleeping, eating). She has grieved right along with my husband and I when both of our kids went off to college. She is just as excited when they come home as we are.

Who decides that I am unbalanced???

It took me almost 6 months to get an ok from my psych. They determined that I was a binge eater and thought they could change my eating habits with counseling. I bought the books that he told me to buy, I kept a journel on what I ate and when how I felt when I ate different things like that. I truly think most of it was an insurance thing (my insurance covered 100%) I was so glad whe he finally told me that he was going to send my doctor a letter stating I was ready for the surgery. -
I have been banded for 8 weeks now. This is just an average day. Breakfast WT Control oatmeal Snack SF Fudgsicle lunch 1/2 C Tuna and a very small salad Snack FF pudding Supper Smart Ones dinner Snack cheese Stick

I am so disappointed I went Thursday for a fill. My doctor setup a special appointment for this. Once I got there and he weighed me he decided not to give me one. I had lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks. Only problem is I am starving and I truly thought a fill would help me out. The only thing he did was to up my calories and schedule me back in 2 weeks. I know I shouldn't want to rush things but I really wanted not to feel hungry all of the time.

Thank you I definetly will give them a try and try to be more patient.

Getting almost of my protein in and very little carbs. My protein is usually at 45-55 per day. I try to walk but that is my only excerise I do. I drink my water constantly and still have the hunger thing going on. It has been better since I upped my calories to 1000. I go back to him on the 31st then he will decide if he will give me one then or not. It depends on how fast I am losing I guess.

Enjoy your babies while you can. My son moves out tomorrow he starts his first year of college on Monday. Its breaking my heart to see him pack his things. My daughter moved out two years ago starting her college education I talk to her everyday but still not the same as her being home. I miss her terribly still and I know I will miss my son just as much. Now its just going to be me and my DH again. I truly wish mine were back in Kindergarden again. -
When I first went back to work I tried holding them in. (I work in an office) Well let me tell you I went home in horrible horrible pain. I will never hold them again. If I have to at work I walk outside make sure nobody is around then let lose.

Finally, I get to have my first fill tomorrow. My doctor called me yesterday checking to see how I was doing. I told him I was hungry alot of the time and he said that shouldn't be so he scheduled me to come in a week early. Now I am alittle nervous about the actual procedure. He explained it all to me but I am still chicken.:paranoid

Thanks I am looking now for the videos. I watched the video of the actual surgery before I had mine and to be honest it didn't scare me made me think alittle of the pain I might be in afterwards but I worried for nothing it wasn't as bad as I thought so maybe the fill video will give me more info too.

Who is having success with their Band?

I have been banded for 7 weeks and no problems at all. Still waiting on my first fill. -
:hungry: I am so hungry today. I just can't seem to get enough to eat. So far today I have had my Wt Control Oatmeal, 2 eggs and a pouch of tuna. I am struggling really hard to keep away from the cookies but I am almost ready to lose the battle. I don't gt a possible fill until the 24th (my first one hopefully) I keep thinking I shouldn't be hungry but my stomach growling is telling me something completly different.

Yeah my doc says no more than 800 per day. I am 6 weeks out and on soft foods. I have an app on the 24th of this month. I am truly praying that he will give me a fill. He doesn't give any fills until at least 8 weeks.
-
Thanks Guys, I am trying so hard here to stay under my 800 calories a day but each day seems like its getting harder and harder.

2 weeks after I was banded I was 4-Wheeler riding. It didn't bother me at all actually it made me feel better I guess getting out doing things that I enjoy doing. And on the plus side it seemed to really help with relieving some of the gas.

I am sitting here at work reading all of the posts that I can. I love this site and the info I get from it. Thanks everyone you have no idea how much you have helped me through these last 6 weeks.

Dancing Queen I too was banded on 6/26. Your very lucky to have a fill already my doctor is making me wait until 8 weeks out then it's just a possibility that I will get one. I have very little restriction and looking forward to my first fill.

I was a GS (Brownies) leader for 2 years I loved it, there were no religious activities involved for my group. We always encouraged all girls to join. When I moved up to the next level with my daughter I had 15 girls.

My surgeon recommends 800 calories a day. I am 5 weeks out. I don't know if he will eventually up the amount or not.
