Thanks I am starting to get a little nervous thinking I might have done damage. I have always been able to sip water until now but it hurts pretty good. I will wait hopefully it will work its way out on its own. I really don't want to contact my doc he is very stingy with the fills anyway and if I do he will want to unfil me and I still have somemore weight to lose.

I have one they put it in while I was under so I felt nothing, but then removed it a few hours after I woke up. It wasn't painful at all.

Thanks Carol, Definetly those helmets will be on. They offer new rider courses thru where we bought the bike I am very interested in taking just not sure when to find the time but before I take control hubby will make me that I do know. Also got my first Harley tattoo I am getting so excited for summer.

We just bought a Harley Davidson Electro Glide I can't wait for the weather to break here and begin riding. I will be on the back with hubby not sure if I could actually drive one yet or not :-) but I am definetly going to try.

Another think I had to learn was not allowing myself to get to hungry. If I would then I would either eat to fast or to big of bites and would PB everytime. Now I eat smaller amounts but more frequent.

Murphles, I feel the same way you do. I am 30 pounds from goal, When I first got to this weight I was tickled now being here for a little while I am getting used to it and beginning to feel fat again. I am working hard to get these last 30 off but boy I think these are the hardest to lose been kinda at a stand still for awhile.

Several years ago I had to have a cyst removed. It was as big as a softball. The surgeon that I went to ended up cutting me from my belly button clear down to my line. That was before all of the lap surgeries that they do now. He told me that women get these all of the time but normally they disolve but some of them don't. Well on my last visit I was told I have another one the size of a walnut but he won't do anything with it right now just watch it. They can become very painful if nothing done with them.

I honestly don't think I could have made it this far without this site. When I had my surgery done I was one of my doctors first patients and had nobody to talk with about what I was feeling (they learned from me I think). I found this site and I am so grateful for everyone that has helped me get thru.

Calorie Requirements for Each Stage?
blj5362 replied to purplemonkey's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was told from the very beginning 1000 calories a day. When I was on liquids I know I didn't make it even close to that amount. I go back on Thursday (hopefully for an adjustment) and I am sure the 1000 calories a day will still be my limit. -
I too lost a great deal of my hair the first 4 months or so. I kept telling my doc about it and he didn't seem to concerned just told me to make sure to eat my protein. Now thank heavens it has stopped completly and started growing agan. Just hang in there it will get better.

First Six Months of Lap Band: Average Weight Loss??
blj5362 replied to bwaydiva's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
For me the first six months were the easiest. Now starting on my eighth month I am slowing down a great deal. I need another fill I do know that but I still would like to see those those pounds come off as easy as they did in the beginning. -
Dr. James Longhi in Morgantown WV. I was one of his first band surgeries. Him and his staff are great. I wouldn't trade my decision for anything.

Is nobody interested in helping others?
blj5362 replied to Dahlia's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think it would be a good idea to try to start up something like that. Sometimes people need alittle help now and then. -
Does this seem pretty common to have one fill per month or is that to frequent.

This is the very first year that I can ever remember that I haven't bought. Usually I buy 10 -12 boxes and freeze. I am very proud of myself I have a problem with Girl Scout Cookies a very big problem.

I wanted to eat everything in sight but my doc had me on a 2 week liquid diet before surgery. I wanted the procedure done so bad that it made that 2 weeks go fairly not completly but fairly easier. The day of teh surgery is when I almost backed out. I was lieing on the table them preparing me for the surgery and I thought oh mu gosh what am I doing. But I swallowed my fear and did it and let me tell you it was the best decision I have ever made. Sure there was a little pain after the surgery but nothing I really couldn't handle and after that first week things were pretty much back to normal except for the eating part. Stay calm everything will work out

The before and during pictures are the only way I can see a difference. Looking in the mirror I just see me nothing different.

Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
blj5362 replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I finally got the nerve to do this. -
So far it seems mine is any where from 10 to 12 pounds. I was wondering the same thing how much weight lost between needing fills?

Sheri, You sound a lot like me when I first had my surgery. I was in pain oh my the gas was horrible but I promise give yourself a couple more days and you will start to feel better. I wondered and doubted my decision also laid awake at nite wondering what in the world did I do if I would be able to do what the doc told me to. If this procedure would actually work for me or would I fail at this attempt to lose weight also just all kinds of crazy things went thru my head. But you know what now after being banded for around 7 months I wouldn't change anything I am so glad that I did it. Its not all been easy and I am still working hard to keep the pounds coming off. You will do great.....by the way make sure you drink and I know your scared of taking to big of a drink but just sip sip sip so that you don't start feeling weak.

Coffee and the band...
blj5362 replied to trinitys_mom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told not to drink it but if I actually had to to make sure it was decaf. After I had my surgery I don't even have the taste for it anymore and I was at least a pot a day girl. Sometimes I still think a cup of coffee would taste so good and I make a pot then have to throw it out because it just doesn't taste the same to me anymore. -
