  1. Happy 58th Birthday Aceituna!

  2. I had my second fill today. The first fill was fine, the second had to be done with the fluoroscope. I'm insisting that the next few fills be done with the fluoroscope. My doctor doesn't charge for any fills.
  3. I just rejoined WW because I knew that the band alone would not be enough for me. I haven't told anyone at the meeting that I'm a bander and don't plan to. I find that people that call it the "easy" way out, ignorant of everything we have to do. I don't think 10 days of liquids, recovering from anesthesia, taking the risk of any surgery, further dietary restriction the easy way out. Try not to confuse mean spiritedness with ignorance. In the meantime, I too am curious about points and adjusting the band. My surgeon's practice is only 10% bariatric, so I'd appreciate any input that I can give him.
  4. I think mushy food is the best phase!
  5. I didn't have a problem wearing a bra, I just had to ask my husband to hook it for me!

    shoulder pain??!!

I had severe left shoulder pain immediately after surgery. They gave me demerol and told me it was the gas. It's been four weeks since my surgery and I get the same shoulder pain. I spoke to my doctor last night and he felt that I should see an orthopedist. The pain may have something to do with my positioning during surgery. However, I didn't tell him that I ate something "bad" for me last night and I immediately had the worst pain ever. So I think that these threads have been very helpful because I think that it's a combination of everything. Eating the wrong things, gas and positioning. I will definitely try the bend over cure! Alleve also helps.
  7. My favorite mushy food is cream of wheat. I make it in the microwave, then drop an egg in it, nuke it for a minute, take it out and wait another minute while the egg cooks a little longer. Stir it all up and if you really want to be bad add a tablespoon of I can't believe it's not butter. It's like eating the pastina my mom used to make me when I was sick. This dish is full of protein and takes a while to eat. Perfect!
  8. I also wore sleep pants and a loose fitting tee shirt. What I definitely recommend is that you have a pillow with you when you leave the hospital. I would hold on to it as I got in and out of the car. It helps keep your muscles in place. I also used it when sitting on my couch and then getting up. Good luck!
