  1. Hi everyone. My name is Sue and I had lapband surgery April 17th, 2009. I had my surgery in Dallas, Tx at the Plano Surgical Center and Dr. Cribbins was my surgeon. Surgery went very good and the whole process from initial assessment to surgery was a very smooth process. The staff at the Surgical Center were very kind, attentive and professional. I had my 2nd fill today and what a difference I'm feeling. I feel I'm finally on the road to weight loss. I didn't lose much after my first fill. I have a 10cc band and only 2cc was put in the first time. I had 2 cc put in today. I can sure tell a difference now with 4cc in my band.
  2. I had my band filled today for the second time. My FNP put in 2.5cc into my 10cc band. I had to have her remove .5cc because I couldn't get water to go down. I have a total of 4cc in my band now. I like you started at 213 today at fill time and 212 before bed. I finally have restriction with this fill.

    Surgery in the morning!

Hi. I just wanted to wish you both the best in your lapband journey. I had the surgery in April. Had my 2nd fill today. Things go slowly at first. I had my appetite back within 2 weeks after surgery and had my first fill 2 months after. After the first fill my appetite came back 3 days after. I could still eat a full plate of food without any problem. Don't be discouraged. With this 2nd fill, I really fill the difference. Just remember, it's a tool to weight loss. You still have to watch what you eat and how much you eat. Exercise is also important. Just be patient and follow the guidelines. You'll do just fine.
  4. Hi NurseHeidi. The things you mention in your post hits very close to home for me. I too have dieted all my life, joined gyms, taken numerous diet pills. The list goes on and on. I'm a nurse as well and I packed on a lot of weight just from the stress of being a nurse. I've always found solace with food. My most recent venture was joining LA Weight Loss last April, 2008. Spent over $2,000.00 on that one just for them to shut down one year later. I had lost 25 lbs on that program. Well, after that happened, I threw my hands up and claimed defeat. I have finally put a stop to the madness and have had lapband surgery April of this year. I know it's expensive. My insurance wouldn't pay for it, so I financed it myself. I figured, heck, I will finance a car, a home, my education. Why wouldn't I finance something that would benefit my health and allow me a better quality of life. Don't listen to dimwits like the one you mentioned. They haven't a clue what you've been through. Girl, you have my vote. The lapband is the way to go. Best wishes.
