I'm back... lol sorry its just been sooo busy with school... but thats no excuse! I ate: Bfast: Large coffee Lunch half chicken wrap with cheese honey mustard/mayo Dinner: other half of wrap Snack: Cbooster smoothie drink 1 small coffee I'm trying to cut back.. I could eat way too much. I think I was overeating, so I am just eating now what I think I should eat even if I am still hungry after it- the hunger goes away after about 15 minutes of finishing eating. I'm kinda stuck on the 240 LB line.. grrr

Lol thanks everyone for saying I don't need a fill... but I can eat almost a cup of food at a time, and I've been at the same weight for a week now. Its catching up! ahhh!! It might be because I can't really exercise right now due to the pains, but it might be the intake. I'll see by Oct 5th if I need a fill or not..thats the 3 month check up with the doc!

Hey everyone! I think I really need a fill because I can eat like a cup at a time, but I'm losing weight too fast I think. The weight is just falling off- since Aug 14th (my first fill), I'm down 16 pounds. If I can eat this much, and am still losing weight, do you think my surgeon will still give me a fill> I can only imagine I am losing weight because I only eat 2 meals a day, no snacks and coffee in the morning and I am exercising a lot. But for the pains... I still have them - one right under my left boob when I breathe and the other in my lower right side. I'm learning to ignore them a bit, but i see the doc again on monday to rule out a few things. More later!

BigGirlPanties... if thats true, that would be AWESOME, I can't wait to walk around without holding my side! on the UPSIDE, my scale went into the 230's today! woohoo... 39 more pounds til my New Years Goal of being under 200! And I am trying to stay positive... after all, I am losing, just with sucky pain lol.

Hey everyone, I went back to the ER today and they did an ultrasound... they said they can't fully rule it out, but most likely it is NOT my gallbladder. BUT here's something worse... they said it could be that I have scar tissue growing around my port, and the scar tissue could be pressing on a nerve- ifs thats the case, there is NOTHING they can do, until I have the band removed. I hope thats not the problem, I have constant pain now and still can't sleep on my right side. I'd hate to have to live with this, because I'm not allowed to do any exercises dealing with my stomach while I have the pain... and I was hoping to do a LOT of situps so I wouldnt have to have a TT. It could also be a hernia, I have another appt with the Surgery clinic next monday and I see my surgeon in Maryland on Oct 5. Whew, sorry for the downer, and whining, but this just sucks... I was really starting to get out there and exercise. Now I can only bike, walk, or run. Well I've got to go.. its late and classes are early. BTW, everyone is doing so well! Congrats to our 2 month anniversaries!

Hey everyone... i had a trip to the ER today because of severe side pain... they think I might have gallstones or kidney stones or something... or a cyst on my ovary. I have to go get more testing on Monday... and it HURTS! They also said that the pain could be due to ripping my port lose and it shifting somehow... but i won't know til the ultrasound! grr... just when I was really getting even MORE active, I can't do anything again. But I'm not missing any school, so that's good... I only have 2 classes tomorrow, and I'll be done at 4 so then I am coming home and sleeping again. All i can do now is take motrin and wait for results. But I'm almost down 30 LBS!

Hey everyone... since my fill Aug 14th, I've lost 11.5 pounds! I've lost 4 pounds in the past 2 days!!! Whew, this exercise is WORKING! and it doesn't hurt that I live on a 4th floor walkup! More later... (I didn't have a scale for 2 weeks and went a little crazy, now I can weigh myself every day in the morning again YAY!)

:clap2: :clap2: CONGRATS Nochoice on your Aug 29th Band Date!!!!!:first: Some info for Dr. Singh... You stay overnight depending on your insurance... but both my mom and I stayed overnight and am thankful to stay overnight because it is a bit harder than we thought it would be and are thankful to have had it. We don't have a pre-op or a bowel cleansing THANK GOD! Just the 2 week liquid diet and then mushies for 2 weeks and then solids. I just had my post-op on monday and he put me on mushies 2 days early so don't fret! You can have creamy Soups, broth, Jello, pudding, with cool whip, and juice- anything you can suck through a straw without using one. It isn't too bad because you really aren't hungry. Just make sure to drink that Water. I got constipated 2 weeks out! It hurt a LOT so be careful! Cut up those pills, and take your Vitamins like Arlene tells you- you know the drill by now... I will say to bring a pillow for the car ride home- the hospital doesn't give you one, and get some liquid tylenol for afterwards. And wear slip on shoes!!! I decided- like my mom, not to wear a bra home and just wore pajamas to the hospital. No big deal... By the way, congrats!!!! and good luck!

Hey everyone! I'm back!!! lol Sorry I've been gone, its been soooo busy! I moved into my 4th floor walk-up on Monday and started school today! Since my fill on Aug 14th, I've lost 11.5 pounds! Being in NYC has really made me jumpstart my weightloss... in the past 2 days, I've lost 4 pounds! I am really exercising now... always using the stairs, and running up and down my 4th floor walk-up to get moving! I start my movement class on Friday and am going out dancing again this weekend. I even had a few drinks last night and was fine... I know not to overdo it though, and I did get tipsy on 2 drinks instead of the normal 4 or so. Other than that, life is going pretty good... I just hope the weight keeps falling off like it has in the past few days. Honestly though, I do not think I am eating enough. Here is what I had today: 1 cup OJ, 1 large coffee - skim milk, 5oz ground beef with bbq sauce, 1/2 ounce mozzerella cheese, then the same for dinner. I'm just not hungry! I forget to eat a lot of the time, but I am drinking the water. I only remember to eat because I have designated times to eat because of classes. I love this fill!!! More later!

Everytime I drink something carbonated, I hiccup so much it hurts! I can't stand even a sip and my doc said that no soda was BEST! Its just not good for you and can cause the band to slip and the pouch to stretch because of the released gasses.

Hey everyone!! I haven't been here in a while because I've been sooo busy! I have no idea how much wieght I have lost because I'm in nyc without a scale, but I'll know tomorrow when I go back home to Maryland. I'm going crazy because I live in a 4th floor walkup and its been hard - because I am normally so tired coming home. I know I've lost weight though! But yesterday at Ikea, I had their salmon and I had my first PB! It was scary but I knew it wasn't going down so I just stood in the bathroom until it came up. I thought it was over but I had to go back to PB the rest of it after that. I was on liquids until today. I felt so much better. Its not something I'd like to do a lot, but it wasn't the worst thing in the world! My fill is finally kicking in! I think its the stress.... I had an audition for casting at my school and got a callback so I have to audition again tomorrow... wish me luck! I've been sooo stressed- with my new apartment and such, but hopefully it will go away soon Alright, I have to get going so good job everyone with your NSVs!!! Speaking of NSV, I have one... I am getting compliments left and right from friends and teachers! woohoo

Good Luck nochoice and I hope you have a smooth recovery! Don't worry about it! You're on your way to becoming a slimmer and healthier you! Let us know how it goes!

I read that if you have the 10cc band, they initially fill it at surgery. Those with the 10 cm or 4cc band do not recieve a fill, and those with other sizes... I have no clue! Do you have the 10 cc or 10 cm band? I hope this helps!

Anyone feel more insecure with lapband? I need support!
Leona06 replied to Leona06's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks for your support! I guess I just needed reminding that I am worth it. Stesi- my mom went throught the freaking out about having something in her body thing too- she had it right after surgery. And even though I know I have a lot going on right now, I didn't know how much it would affect me, so talking to someone might be a good thing! I have to go now, but I just wanted to say thank you for responding and putting it into perspective! Sometimes when you're in a situation, you need outsiders to help you see things clearly. Thanks, I really appreciate your kindness! -
Anyone feel more insecure with lapband? I need support!
Leona06 posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Man, I'm in a bad spot right now. I hate change! Change always screws with me- makes me doubt myself, and I hate doubting because I am better than that! I can't believe how different life is. I don't know if I want to cry or if I want to scream or Celebrate. I have no idea... all I know is..its different. ahh yes, change. I've had several major changes happen in my life at the same time... I am starting grad school in NYC (I've lived in NYC for 4 years for undergrad, but now I am changing schools), I'm moving into my first apartment, and of course, the lapband. Recently, I've been a little down because I don't know how to look at myself and feel beautiful anymore-- because all I see is pounds I want gone. I used to see the beauty within, and now all I see are flaws. I thought changing my body would help me gain confidence, and now I'm losing it. I'm addicted to my scale, I think I'm eating too much, I concentrate on the foods that go into my mouth way too much. Its become unhealthy, and I'm not happy. I've lost two dear friends that helped me cope with my inabilities- food and alcohol. I was so dependant on alcohol as a social lubricant, that I have no idea how to party without it, and at the end of the night, food can't comfort me either. I thought it would be easy to have lapband in the city- to control what I eat and how much, but its the hardest thing! I am constantly obsessing about food and when I go out to eat with friends, I have to make sure I can eat something there. Food never leaves my mind- and its not head hunger, its not real hunger, and I'm not eating it... I just never stop thinking about it. And when food is not on my mind, I feel like an outsider... a weird "thing" with a device inside me. I feel funny when my friends talk about food... and when I chime in about something, I feel weird because I know they know I can't have that type of food (i.e. hotdogs). And then I have the feeling as no one around me can know what it feels like to be banded.... my mom had the surgery too, but she's 200 miles away now. Its just a weird feeling, being on your own, banded, and starting a new life. Has anyone else felt slightly worse and insecure about lapband? Does it get better or should I see someone for help? I was trying to get through this on my own because I am strong, just unsure of the future? What do you think? -
Drinking while eating poll
Leona06 replied to K@t's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I also dont drink with meals- usually stop drinking 10-15 min before meals, then wait 1/2 hour to hour to start drinking again per docs orders Its not sooo bad... If I do drink with a meal I get the golfball- haven't pbed yet, but I almost did! It hurt !
