I was banded in April '09 and have lost about 65 lbs. The past two months, I've been going up & down 5-10 lbs. I can't seem to get motivated to eat right. It's like I'm burnt out on dieting but, I really want to get to my goal to lose 20 more lbs. (my ticker is probably wrong). I even joined Weight Watchers to try to get motivation. I'm thinking about getting another fill but, I think I have pretty good restriction I just keep wanting to eat junk food. If anyone knows how to get their groove back, PLEASE HELP!!!

What is your goal weight for your height?
carbgrl replied to gingerjane's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5'5.5 and my goal is 145lbs. I've been having the hardest time with these last 20 lbs. (I think I've gained a few from what my ticker shows) I'm having trouble staying motivated. I'm not obese anymore but, still feel overweight. I think since I didn't make my goal by year anniversary it really took my "steam" away. -
Well, that's the way the cookie crumbles (ha, ha). It is hard to last few pounds. Our bodies are resisting losing anymore weight. I've been struggling with the last 16 lbs. Keep doing what you're doing. It'll happen. Congrats on your success.

Enlarged Esophagus
carbgrl replied to takinsexyback's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sorry to hear that. I hope someone on here can give you some words of wisdom. I haven't experienced this. How was it diagnosed? Fluoro? What were your symptoms? Good luck. -
Soooo true, StartingOver!

I've finally hit the last 10lb mark! Just 10 more lbs to go until I hit my goal. It seems like this journey is taking FOREVER! I'm guessing these last 10 lbs are going to take another forever and a day!

Does anyone else get stuck on tuna salad?
carbgrl replied to adagray's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When food gets stuck, the body automatically starts producing massive amounts of saliva (slime) to try to help move the food down. Mouthfuls and mouthfuls that you have to spit it out. -
Does anyone else get stuck on tuna salad?
carbgrl replied to adagray's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Once, before I knew better. Soon after my first couple of fills, I tried to have plain tuna and crackers. It was my first PB/slime incident. I was at a water park with the bathrooms on the complete opposite side. I slimed the whole day. It was an AWFUL experience. I haven't tried tuna since. I agree it's the texture. I've had a similar experience with stringy lobster. I think with a little mayo it'd be fine but, I just haven't tried it yet. It's been almost a year ago. : ) -
Flying after LapBand
carbgrl replied to sophieownsme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I flew 4 wks post op. No problems. -
I traveled approx one month after surgery and had no problems. At that time, I hadn't had any fills yet. I also traveled this week without any problems. It's been a year now since surgery and am at my "sweet spot". I think flying does make you slightly tighter. You just have to be real careful when eating and be gentle to yourself. Good luck!

Bunny Bandsters - April '09, MASTER THREAD #1
carbgrl replied to Band_Groupie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, tomorrow is my bandiversary and I was REALLY hoping to have reached my goal by now but, I'm happy with my success so far. I'll get there. It'll take more time but, I'll get there. -
It's just like portion disortion with food. People are just not used to seeing the smaller sizes. I had a portion of chilli and a woman at work freaked and said, "is that all you're eating???" She had Soup. I should have said, mine is alot healthier and has ALOT more Protein but, all I said was, "yes and I have some veggies too". Maybe that's why obesity rates are on the rise, because so few know what a normal portion looks like anymore or, what a "normal" weight looks like either.

I'll vote for lactose intolerance too. I've had that cold sweat experience a couple of times. -
Going on a cruise in July, would Dr. lossen band for just that week ?
carbgrl replied to robin32470's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Aside from the comments above which I agree with I would be affraid of having trouble finding restriction again. The band is fickle, I wouldn't adjust it anymore than necessary. -

carbgrl replied to mrsgriffin2u's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I want in!!! The challenges help me alot too!!! I just finished the Valentine's Day challenge and would like to join this one. I want to lose 17 lbs by Easter or at least by my 1st Bandiversary on 04/14/10!!! It's gonna be hard! Those last 20'ish always are. If I don't make it it'll be ok because, I'm still VERY close to my goal and I feel great!!!
