No, it's not a new radio station. I finally broke the 200 barrier after hovering between 203 and 200 for about month. I switched up my exercise. I think that helped plus I also did mostly liquids yesterday because of a bad stuck/PB episode the day before. Now, if I can only maintain it this weekend!!! This journey has been alot slower than I thought it would be but, hopefully, it means I will keep it off this time.

How did you know you hit your sweet spot?
carbgrl replied to A New Woman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good question. I'm interested in hearing what others have to say! -
That's awesome! I'm so excited for you!
-
Thanks for all the support!!!
-
I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I hope you will feel better soon. Let us know how you're doing and why you had to have your band taken out when you feel up to it.
-
Where do you buy them?
-
Hey Suz, Congrats on breaking your plateau and getting into the One hundreds. How much did you weigh on the date of your surgery? You're doing an amazing job! Hope to talk again.

"doesn't look like you're losing any weight"
carbgrl replied to firefly71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've always thought 40 lbs was the magic number. In the past, I'd have to lose 40 lbs before people ever noticed or started getting compliments. I hae reached that spot yet, but, hopefully soon. I can tell when I look in the mirror and with my clothes. I can see a big difference in my waist. You're doing great! Keep it up. Don't worry about negative people. -
Thanks for the suggestions.

what sucks the most.......
carbgrl replied to ~*~*~Panda~*~*~'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It sucks getting stuck. I didn't know about that until I read it on here. I don't recall my doctor's info mentioning that. It is learning a whole new way of eating but, I needed something drastic to help me lose weight and hopefully keep it off this time! -
Which band = pounds lost
carbgrl replied to bashful1269's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a 10 cc Lap Band AP. I was banded on 04/14/09 and have lost 30 lbs. My doctor said the same thing about the different bands. He said it was like choosing between Tide or Cheer. I didn't specifically choose this band it's just what he decided to use at the time of surgery. I decided to let him choose since he should know more than me. I'm glad he used the AP band because I think the AP band has been around a little longer than the Realize band and it seem slightly smaller physically. If I have to have something foreign in my body, I want it as small as possible. I agree what's most important and crucial to your success is YOU. We still have to make the right choices and work with the band, whichever is used. -
almost there!!

Toot! Toot! Baby! Congrats! -
I'm at 201. I'm so excited!!! Although, I didn't think it'd take me this long to get here, I'll be happy to get there. Anyone else joining me?
-
You don't know what it is because you're already there. LOL Onderland is being back in the One hundreds. After being in the 200's it's really nice getting back to the 100's.

Does anyone feel like life with the band is too hard?
carbgrl replied to lindsayb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lindsay, Things will get better after you get some fills. I think we all understand how food can be comforting like a friend but it's time for us to put our health and relationships with family and real friends first! Band life is an adjustment. Believe me, it's not easy but, we're worth it!!! -
Wow, Suz we had surgery on the same date and we're right on the verge of 199 but, you've lost more than I have. Congrats!!!
-
I haven't had any problems with salad as of yet. As always, chew, chew, chew.
-
For those who didn't tell their co-workers, friends, family, whoever they got the band, what do tell them when you PB or slime???
-
something funny
carbgrl replied to MADE IT 2 MY GOAL..OH YEAH's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was thinking about donating blood to get the scale moving! LOL (just kidding) -
Congrats on your loss!!! The pics look great!

Just wanted to share my stupidity!
carbgrl replied to travelinsnorkel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sorry to hear that. I had a similar incident last week but, I was only with my co-workers at lunch. Not a plane full of people. I was sweating and praying I wouldn't PB in the my friends car. Very embarassing! Guess we're all learning. Hope you had a good trip otherwise. -
Nope! I didn't have to do that.

what does PBing and sliming mean?
carbgrl replied to Grandma26's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
PB is productive burp when food comes back up. It's not the same as vomiting because there are no contractions and the food hasn't hit the stomach yet because it's stuck. It's usually the result of eating to fast. Sliming is the extra saliva the body makes that comes up with or without the food when your stuck. Very similar to an alien movies or The Fly movie. LOL -
Yes, look on the positive side. You don't have to jump thru all the insurance hoops, pre-op diet, psych eval, waiting, appeals... I self paid because I didn't want to do mess with all that and I was ready to make a change immediately!!!

Sooo close to ONEderland ... 200.6 ... looking for REWARD ideas
carbgrl replied to Iwanttotriagain's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How about buying a charm for a charm bracelet. Like buying a charm for every 5 lbs lost.... Congrats on your loss. I have a few more lbs before getting to ONEderland. Save me a spot over there.
