Ughhhh ...when does the burping stop?
carbgrl replied to kittkat2009's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ya mean belching? Yes, it's loud but, I'd trade about 85 lbs for it. -
I had a two hour trip each way when I was 4 wks post op. No problems. The nurse at my doc's ofc did say some ppl experience some tightness w/ flying. Have a safe trip!

Acid Reflux gets my vote!

Last Friday, I had a fill, before it I was hungry all the time and could eat way to much. After the .08 fill I was to tight. I could hardly drink anything. I was sliming all day and evening long from liquids. So, after the weekend, first thing Monday morning I went ot the doctor's office and got a slight unfill. I'm at about 6.5 cc total in a 10 cc band. The first couple of days, I thought I was close to the my sweet spot. Today, I've been eating way to much. I feel like I'm starving!! What's wrong with me?????

Call them immediately! You could get dehydrated or worse.

question about drinking and meals
carbgrl replied to andy343858's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I believe it's so you'll get full faster and the liquid doesn't wash down the food. -
Hep, I had my surgery about two weeks before you. I feel the same way. Last week, I had my fourth fill. Before I felt like I could eat to much then I was to tight. Now, I think I'm ok with restriction but, maybe alittle bit short of my "sweet spot". It's a struggle with head hunger. I was starving too after being to tight and not even being able to drink Water. It comforts me know that many ppl have had success with the band and WE CAN TOO! Keep working to conquer the head hungry, manage portions and exercising! I will too!

too much alcohol, what happens?
carbgrl replied to peaches76's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good question. I've wondered that myself. I think I saw a couple of posters say the have medication to prevent vomiting incase they get sick. My doc didn't give me anything like that but certainly worth asking about it. Especially with flu season around the corner. -
Had a slight fill Friday afternoon. Before it, I was eating way to much. Even under fluoro, they said my esphogus looked wider. Now, I can hardly drink anything. A couple of sips of Water and I'm sliming all day. All I had yesterday was a couple of sips of Protein. Even water had me sliming all day. I know this is not healthy. I'm not even getting enough water much less enough protein. But, I also know the tightness wears off. I think I'm going to try and wait for the tightness to wear off. At least a couple of days. Seems like I went from one extreme to the other.

I got a slight unfil. I was mistaken. Before my last fill on Friday I had 6.2 cc in my 10 cc band. So, .08 cc was added on Friday to make 7 cc's total and made me to tight. I was trying to wait and see if it'd wear off but, I didn't think I could sit at work sliming all day. Gross! My husband said he was going to get me a spitoon! So, I went to doc's ofc first this morning and got about 1/2 of my last fill out. I'm about 6.5 cc now. I think I was really getting dehydrated and was starting to get really fatigued. I feel better now, getting fluids down and even had some soup. Hopefully, I'm at my sweetspot. I still think I'm alittle on the tight side but, as long as I'm getting fluids down, I'm ok!

I think I have 6.2 in a 10 band. I think they added the .2 Friday. It's so weird going from almost eating anything to not being able to even drink. I may have to go to the doctor's ofc tomorrow morning. Maybe they can take out .1?

Restriction,......finally?!?!?!?!
carbgrl replied to HelloSkinny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Couldn't find "this band friggin works" thread. Any help? Can someone make a link to it? -
My doc said no sex for two weeks. I waited alittle bit extra, just in case! My doc also said to refrain from alcohol for a year.

Stacy, I was banded on the same date as you and I've about 35 lbs too. That includes the 13 lbs I lost in the pre-op diet. I've been working out every day an hour on the treadmill and sometimes weights too. Sometimes I vomit/PB but, I don't think I need an unfill. As others have said above, you have to work at it. I know sometimes I eat to fast. I keep trying to eat chicken even though I know it usually gets stuck. I know I have to work harder at this. I know we can do it. At least if it comes off slow it's sure to stay off this time.

Deli Shot? What's that. Is it like a tequila shot? -

I think it's from the high protein diet, Ketosis. -

I agree w/ Cathy. Keep a journal of everything you eat and drink. Good luck! -
Has anyone ever done a Canidia Cleanse with or without the band??? I've been thinking about trying it.
-
LMAO What'd he say?

How many use Frozen Dinners like SmartOnes... on a regular basis? I'm thinking the portions are just about right. Trying to get lunch ideas for work.

What is your favorite high protein drink?
carbgrl replied to Erin 6-9-2009's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love Vanilla Designer Whey protein. I usually add cinnamon. Sometimes I add SF chocolate & Peanut Butter, coffee for a Frapiccino taste... sometimes strawberry crystal lite for a Strawberry cheesecake taste... the choices are endless. -
Sorry to hear about the problem with your band. Good luck on your test next week!

Congratulations! I hit it last week and am still hoovering here! What an awesome way to look at it. No more 200's EVER again!!!

My doctor said to take two children's chewables a day. Which I've been doing. I also take chewable calcium, extra vitamin B and biotin.

I've been on plateau for about a month now. Going up & down between 203-200. I think I'm at a "set-point" and my body doesn't want to go past it. Any ideas how to break it? I've been exercising an hour a day. I think if I lower my calories really low like do protein shakes only for a day or two, I think it'll go back up immediately after going back to food.
