    Hi I am new

Hi Everyone.... This is my first post here. I am going to my first weightloss seminar on May 5th and have my first appointment with a doctor on May 16th. I should weigh about 150 pounds and I weight 243 right now. I have tried everything. I am hoping I am accepted as a candidate. I have a lot of knee and back pain and my glucose is borderline. My blood pressure is normal. My weight has caused me a great amount of depression but I don't know if that makes me a candidate. I take medication for depression, my thryroid which is slow, and a prescription water pill for swelling. If anyone has any advice or input for me I would greatly appreciate it. Christine :tongue_smilie:

    Hi I am new

My BMI is probably about 37. I think I will probably have to have co-morbidity. I will have to see how my consultation goes. Thanks for responding.
  3. Maybe the way I see it will change after I have the surgery, but right now I can't even talk about my weight with anyone. I have been married for 20+ years and my husband has never seen the number on the scale when it comes to me! I guess it's my own little psychosis.
  4. Wow! I never thought anyone felt EXACTLY the same way I did. I never talk about my weight with anyone either. I come from a family of 5 foot 2 100 pounders! I on the other hand take after my dad who was 6 foot 3 and weighed 275 pounds. I am the misfit. I soo know what you are feeling. I too have decided not to tell anyone except my husband that if I get the band. I am just in the beginning stages of getting approved. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
