    Tighter band with smaller me

Hi, I had my lapband in 2006, and lost all my weight except 20 lbs, but was ok with it. Then I found out I was pre-diabetic (runs heavily in my family) and that prompted me to drastically reduce my carbs, with the byproduct of losing 28 lbs. I had been steady prior to losing this weight, and hadn't had a fill in over a year. After losing the additional weight, I became a lot tighter, which really surprised me. It was so drastic that for a while I thought I was going to have to have some taken out, but it loosened up some, although I still am tighter than I used to be. So this must happen to some people.

    Trying not to worry...

Hi, by now you have probably checked with your doctor, but the same thing happened to me and all it was is that I suddenly needed a small unfill, even though it had been almost a year since my last fill. After the unfill, everything was fine.

Good fill DR. in San Jose, Ca...?

Dr. McKeen, 408-402-9911 is a wonderful, wonderful doctor. I'm not sure what their policy is for filling patients that he did not perform the surgery on, but you should definitely give him a call. He is located near Good Samaritan hospital.

Suggestions for Dr. in Nor. Cal.

Hi, just to let you know that Dr. Robert McKeen at South Bay Bariatrics is one of the best doctors you could find. He is my doctor, and I very highly recommend him. He is extremely caring.
  8. I have what is probably a silly question...what kind of doctor does a panniculectomy? Is it only a plastic surgeon? I am going to attempt to see if I can get it covered by my insurance due to really bad yeast infections, and need to find a doctor on my plan. Thanks!

Happy with McKeen / fill / Utah

Dr. McKeen is my doctor, he also does fills in San Jose, CA (he travels back and forth between there and Utah). He is absolutely fantastic. I have had a lot of trouble reaching a proper level of restriction, and he gone above and beyond in working with me on this. I also would highly recommend him.

Oprah Today: Weight Loss and Obsessions

Just to let everybody know my lap band is a revision, I had a gastric bypass in 1998. I never did develop any other kind of addiction as I lost 150 pounds. But then again, I obviously did not lose my food addiction, since I gained a lot of the weight back!

HELP!!!! I have lunch in one hour!!!!

You can tell your friends that your stomach is queasy today and you don't feel like eating much. Then you can go and have some mashed potatoes, and anything else they may be having that looks soft.
  12. Hi, I have seen many posts that say that somebody just got a fill and now know what restriction is. My question is, does this mean that you are feeling restriction on the 24 hour liquid diet following a fill? I just got my 3rd fill, and definately do not feel any restriction from liquids. I am getting frustrated at not feeling real restriction. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
  13. Hello everyone, I would really like to know, what is the feeling you get when you know you have had enough food and are full? I feel something, but it is not fullness. I would like to know your experiences. Also, why is it that bandsters cannot eat dry things. I have had the "golf ball" twice now, one when I ate a piece of Melba toast, and another time when I ate some fish crackers. Quantity wise it could not have been too much, so it must have been the dryness. Thanks!
  14. Hi, I was banded on 7/6/06, and have not had a fill yet. I have no restriction at all with liquids or very soft mushies, but when eating anything more solid I feel something but it is very different then what everyone else describes. I will suddenly feel as if a balloon has been inflated in my upper stomach, like severe gas feels. I do not feel at all as if I am going to throw up. This feeling lasts about 30 minutes to an hour, then goes away. I have not once since the surgery felt as if something is stuck in my throat, or as if I am going to throw up. Has anyone else experienced this? I am curious. Thanks! Melinda
  15. I have been reading posts from people who were banded on July 6th saying that they are not the slightest bit hungry, however I was banded on that day and am starving! I am having Protein shakes as well as other liquids. How long did it take any of you to feel hungry after having surgery? Thanks!
