Hi, I'm 7 days out from my abdominoplasty (9lbs of skin removed) and I have a vertically incision. I had talked to my surgeon just before they took me in for my surgery and asked not to have staples put in. She agreed because of the tracks they leave. To my surprise I have all staples. I am very upset/disappointed. The surgeon said they had to use the staple because of time. I go tomorrow and have my staples removed. Has anyone else had all staples and had a good result with the scarring Angie

My surgery was June 2009 and I have lost 140lbs so far. My surgeon still wants me to lose 50 to 70lbs more. I am only losing about 1 to 2lbs a month and can't seem to get back on track. We can do this!! Don't give up!!

How do I break through a plateau?
Angie65 replied to caricap's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I keep losing and gain the same 2lbs for 2 months. I finally broke through my plateau by mixing up my calories and exercise program. I added 2 Protein drinks daily and I lost 5.5lbs in one week! Good luck! -
I go to Zumba classes four days a week. I love it. It's a 7 to 8 for me. I have the best teacher that really pushes you. :smile2:

I'm down 100lbs. Starting 364lbs now 264 I still have a long way to go. I go to the gym five days a week plus walk 2 miles a day. I'm so happy that I had the LAP-BAND® done. It has changed my life.

Hi, June Journeys I am glad everyone is doing well. My life has changed so much since my surgery in June. Working out is now included in my daily routine. I love my new life as a LAP-BAND® person. I'm down 82lbs. I feel so much better and I am off all my meds. My goal is 100lbs lost by my 45th birthday in May.

I love Zumba! It's the only exercise I do right now. I started classes at 320lbs. Yes, its hard at first but, the class goes by so fast and then your done for the day. Don't get discouraged just because you don't know the dance moves. It will take awhile to get them. Everyone started off just like you, have fun and enjoy it. I take classes five days a week and I hate to miss. I can't wait to the next class. I have made a lot of new friends at the age of 44. We have gone out dancing at a club and to lunch. I wish you the best of luck. I say go for it. :w00t:

Hi June Bandsters, I just was wondering how everyone was doing with their band? How is your weight loss going?
-
Hi, I just got banded, June 1st by Dr. Siddiqui. Has anyone else been banded by him?
-
Becky, My doctor wanted me not to get the lap band because, he said," I weigh too much and will never loose more than 100lbs with it". I told him it was the lap band or nothing!! He finally agreed and I was banded on June 1, 2009. My starting weight was 364lbs and today 340lbs. I am not going to give up!! I am so glad to see stories like yours and everyone else. I am so proud of you! Keep up the fantastic work!!

8 days post op and excrusiating pain
Angie65 replied to monica28's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Monica, I'm 7 days out and I still have some pain. I am having trouble sleeping and being comfortable at night. I think it takes longer for some to work the gas out. I think it is normal. -
did you request your info card from Lap Band?
Angie65 replied to amberd910's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got mine at my pre-op check up just before surgery. The nurse gave me a surgical information kit that is yellow. In it contained two books. One was A New Beginning and the other one Living Healthily Ever After. The card was in the back of one of the books. It was a post card to mail in to Allergan or sign up online. I hope this helps. -
I was banded on June 1st. I am still having a lot of pain and very sore. I have been sleeping in a chair and I need help standing up. I have had five other surgeries before and this is the worst so far. I am still taking my pain med every couples of hours.
