Hey slim, I am doing great. Still eating a bunch but just for today, my abstinance is just not binging which would put me into a gaining mode, so since I am doing okay in that department, I am feeling really good. I am trying but not always making gallbladder healthy choices which is better all round in many ways except for the puzzling dilemma of not eating chicken. That is pretty hard to get out of when you have been taught for years that it is the most healthy of all meats. I am eating fish when ever possible and some red meat which is a no no. Some meals I just don't eat meat, but eat a sweet potato which is very satisfying. I do eat a good bit of cottage cheese and yogurt but since they rapidly go through the unfilled band they don't do much to slow my appetite.
I had sushi at Greenlife last night and it was soooooo good. Really fresh. I don't eat raw fish so mine had crawfish in it, which was cooked, nice and spicy. I am going to try some other kinds (of their sushi ) soon before I get a fill because it was very filling. After a fill I probably won't be able to eat it. I am also able to eat peeled apple now, and am enjoying that, but probably won't after a fill. I like those bags of precooked salmon filets. I hate cooking fish for some reason. I could also get prepared fish at Greenlife's deli, but it is a bit pricy to bring home and heat up. If I pay that much I like being served, lol!
I am getting some sense of equilibrium now with the OA meetings and starting to interpret the steps as they apply to my compulsive eating and insanity with food. That is taking some of the stress off me. I really give myself a hard time because I have not been able to do a clean food abstinence and I am learning that abstinence is a tool, not a goal, and that is helping me a lot. I am a long time member of 12 step programs and I will continue to say food is the most diffiicult of all the "isms" for me anyhow.
