2nd/Third - Follow Up Fill Experiences

I had my 2nd fill today. He put in another cc, so now I have 4cc's in a 9cc band. I am really hoping this help with restriction, because these past couple of weeks, I've been ravenous. I have been watching my portions and staying in control, but the hunger has been unbearable!

  4. Hi everyone, I was just curious to see how everyone is doing weightwise. So, I'd like to know, what is your surgery date, and how much have you lost SINCE surgery, not including the pre op dieting. Thanks and best of luck to everyone! My date: May 20, 2009 Weight loss since: 10.5 lbs
  5. Ok, so I'm doing really well with the amount of food I eat and all of that, nothing like that has been bothering me, I'm not even tempted by other peoples "bad" food anymore. BUT, I am having a really hard time getting used to not drinking before/during/after meals. Especially, during. Anyone else having this problem? I just felt like venting a little bit because for some reason, it seemed really difficult for me this weekend. I didn't give in, but it's been hard.

Anyone move and have to switch doctors?

Wow, that's alot of money. Was it something that wasn't covered by insurance?

Anyone move and have to switch doctors?

Really? what was the $400 for? An initial consultation or something?

Anyone move and have to switch doctors?

I know, I am. I was just wondering what others experienced....
  9. Glad to hear everyone is successful! I had a minor setback 2 weeks ago with getting a staph infection in one of my port sites. That has since cleared up and I'm healing well, knock wood! Otherwise, I'm doing pretty good. I've noticed and so have other people, my weight loss. I love shopping for new clothes! I had my first fill but don't really feel restriction yet. I have my 2nd fill on the 23rd, hope that helps! I'm down 35.5 pounds since May 4th when the preop diet began and I'm down 20 since surgery May 20th. Which compared to most of you, isn't that big of a loss! But I'll take it. Best of luck to everyone!

Can you ever eat 'regular' food again?

I just started eating salad a week ago and it's been fine for me so far! As for sandwiches, pasta, etc, I was told to stay away from doughy carbs. So I haven't tried any pasta or breads other than thin pita, which works for me. I have had chinese food, went to PF Changs yesterday and had some chicken and eggplant, which was great. I'm not sure about egg rolls though. I guess it depends on how your body will handle everything. Some people can eat pasta, some say their body rejects it. I'm not even going to try. I also love to make tacos. That's been a life saver for me, turkey tacos. So I guess when it's time for you to go back on solids, it'll just be alot of experimentation. But just remember you won't be able to eat like you used to! Best of luck!
  11. I know what you mean. As you said every lb is one closer to goal! I know that it seems like a far way off, but look how well you've done already! You'll be there in no time. Hopefully I won't be too far behind, lol.

OH awesome! Have a great time at the concert! That's bound to be a great time!

    Not drinking before/during/after meals...

Oh my goodness, 1 1/2 hour-2 after eating???? YIKES! I would not do well with that at all! When were you banded? Are you going through bandster hell do you think? I'm sure your 3rd fill will help! Good luck!
  13. That sounds like a really nice 4th! Very relaxing I'm sure. What beach did you go to this past weekend? It's been so long since I've been to a beach! LOL

Oh no, I'm sorry about your weight loss...BUT at least you're still losing right? Good for you! You are doing great. I'm sure you'll make that goal for 6 weeks. Haha, I would probably have the same reaction as you to what your doctor said. Even though we know that's ok, we still want to lose a little more! ;) My loss is going alright. I have 3 cc's in a 9cc band. I have my 2nd fill next Thursday. I'm looking forward to it because I'm still not having any restriction. Everything is will power still. I lost 5 pounds last week and only half a pound this week. Oh well, I'm happy! My 4th was nice, it went by too fast though!

I'm really glad that you are having a nice summer! I heard that it's supposed to be super hot later this week, so maybe you'll enjoy that more! Have a great week!

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that. How awful. And I agree with the others, you shouldn't have to pay that $300 because it is NOT your fault. I'm really sorry you are going through this. We are all here for you!

    Not drinking before/during/after meals...

Thanks everyone! I will try that tip about something wet at the end of my meal. I haven't done that. I will try that at lunch! So far I haven't really given in to sipping anything before or during, but I have the toughest time AFTER! Ahh.. Oh well, if this is the worst of my problems, I guess it's not that bad! Cheers everyone!
  16. Hey Heather, just checking in to see how you are doing? How was your 4th of July? Are you having a nice summer! TTYL!

Mayo Banditos / Friday Weigh In !!!!

Well this wasn't the greatest week, but at least I didn't gain or stay the same, and I'm finally out of the 260's! July 3rd- 260 July 10th- 259.5 I'm going to attribute this to it being that time of the month and I'm really bloated.... GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WEIGHING IN TODAY!
  20. Gosh Holly, that is so hurtful! Thank God is right that you aren't with him anymore. He sounds like a real ass.

    Lapband Friendly Restaurants

I am also embarassed about using the card, so far I haven't used it. But I am going away this weekend and will be dining out more, so my nurse suggested asking to to order off the senior menu as opposed to the childrens because the food tends to be healthier. Also, some other banders have said macaroni Grill will accept the card, Red Robin, Fridays, etc.
  24. I'm glad that you are doing well. Oh, are you having the left shoulder gas pains? Don't worry it will go away soon. I know, that was really hard for me. I hope everything goes ok for you! I'm doing well thanks!

    Bra question

I actually got a staph infection from my softcup bra in one of my incisions! My boobs are really big, and the softcup was rubbing against the incision and I suppose bacteria got in there. I think most people say wearing sports bras for the first month or so. If the bra touches any of the incisions, cover them up while you have the bra on. As for the pain, I'm not sure what that could be. But I did wear an underwire bra the other day for several hours and found that it irritated me pretty bad, it kept pressing into my flesh and hurt.
