Sorry guys, I just need to vent and feel like you guys are always so easy to talk to....So thanks in advance for listening! So, I have basically not much restriction at all, after 3 fills. I was scheduled to see my surgeon about it on Monday. I get all the way there, it takes 30 minutes, and they messed up my appt and did not have me in the books. This is the 2nd time they have done this to me. The first time being they screwed up my surgery date! They couldn't get me in next until OCTOBER 22nd! I was so mad. Now I get a call today saying that he will be out of town the 22nd and they have to push my appt back to the 26th now. He's only in office 2 days a week as it is, and when you go, you always end up waiting an hour in the waiting room. Aside from that, his office staff is not good at all, they are not caring or comforting, they are harsh and quick. The surgeon himself is good, his office is so tiny, there are only 6 chairs in the waiting room, I always end up standing waiting. Anyway, I'm just super frustrated. I am even considering changing surgeons for follow up care, but I hear that that is like pulling teeth. I just don't know what to do!

Thanks Marie! Wow, sorry to hear that you are in the same boat. I have come to realize that the doctors office should have someone else on staff to handle these "emergencies". It's unacceptable to have to keep postpoing fills. Good luck to you as well!

Hi everyone, I was wondering if someone could give me some more info on Dr. G? I currently have a surgeon in Warren area and am really unhappy. I need to find a new doc for follow up care. Could you just tell me where he is located, a phone number? Is it easy to get in for an appointment? That kind of stuff. Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks for the advice Ann! I'm definitely going to follow it. As soon as I find another doctor, I'm definitely writing a review on here about my surgeons office. And they are supposed to be a Center of Excellence! Yeah right. All I want is for this band to aid me in my weight loss, I'm doing it all pretty much on my own right now, and I want that extra push that the band can give. I don't think that's too much to ask!

Oh no, Ann I'm so sorry. :w00t: I really hope everything goes ok at your appt today. I hope you are able to resume eating solid food without dealing with that and hope your reflux goes away, I know how awful that is. Let us know how it goes.

Ugh, isn't that the worst! If you had the fill Tuesday you should've been fine to eat solids Thursday...but maybe it was because you did eat too fast? I know that happens to me! Hope it doesn't happen again for you, but like you said, at least it was your first one in 5 months!

John, I'm so absolutely frustrated! They finally called me back yesterday and they cannot get me in any early, they are absolutely refusing to squeeze me in stating that he's too busy. I have to find another doctor, asap. I can't live like this and I cannot believe that an office staff would treat someone this way. I am going to put in a call today to speak to the doctor directly, but I'm dreading it because the staff is so rude! I know he won't call me back this weekend though, so I'll probably have to wait until monday. :smile: Rebecca, I feel the exact same way as you as far as the restriction goes. I am changing up my diet and seeing results, but it's still hard for me to stop eating when I know I should. It's mind over matter at this point still, and I'm upset about it. Good luck to you with your restriction.

Hey everyone, I was banded 4 months ago, but the last 2 days I've had pretty bad gas pain, (caused by my massive consumption of wheat I think ) and was just wondering what everyone uses for gas pain? Just gas x or something of the like? I would call my surgeon, but well, his office sucks. So thanks for any suggestions!

Thanks John, you are right. I called them this morning to tell them I needed to get in asap and they said they have to call me back. I'm just really stressed about it all! Thanks for letting me vent. HappyHomeCC, I realize this is something I have to deal with for the rest of my life, that's why I am considering changing surgeons.

Thanks Ann! You are right. I'm going to look into it. I will start on here, like you suggested. It's so frustrating, and I hate to make the change to someone who didn't do my surgery, but honestly, I can't keep going on like this. It's just unfair!

Thanks kiz. I can't imagine I'm the only one either! I will definitely say something to him though at my next appt about how I feel. It just really stinks that I have to wait so long.

I have a Hungry Girl cookbook and saw that they use these noodles quite often in recipes. I have a recipe that I'm going to try this week, but was just wondering what people thought of these "noodles". I haven't ever tried pasta since being banded, and since these were made from Tofu, I fugured I'd be safe. Has anyone tried them? Like them? Dislike them? Thanks!:biggrin:

Thanks for the replies. I just tried them the night after I made this post. I really liked them alot and didn't have any problems with them and my band. I did rinse them well and boil them for a few minutes to get the excess out. They were quite good!

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has moved since being banded and had to switch surgeons. The reason I ask is because I am moving from Michigan to Illinois in the spring of 2010 and am a little worried about getting a new doctor. I've heard that some people really have a hard time finding a surgeon who will take them on. Just wondering what some of your experiences were! Thanks!

I have another! I have a wedding to go to in 2 weeks and I've been dreading dress shopping. So I finally went this weekend, the first dress that I saw that I really liked I tried on. It was a size 18. I didn't think it would fit because I haven't been able to wear a size 18 dress in I don't know how long. Anyway, I figured what the heck because it was on clearance for 10 freaking bucks! So i tried it on and it fit PERFECTLY! I didn't even have to suck my stomach in, lol. I was thrilled.
