The questions as to why I can't feel any restriction has been answered:confused:. Not the answer I wanted, but sometimes life hands you problems that you just have to deal with. Anyway after being filled to 8cc in a 10cc band with zero restriction my doctor took a closer look. Its seems that somehow my band has eroded:scared2:. Why no ones sure, but he removed all the fill liquid until further tests are performed. There is a strong possibility that my band will have to be removed. Since I never had any restriction I won't miss the band, but after all the money I paid I just feel like I've been cheated (I financed it through a medical loan). I'm not sure just what happens next but I wanted to share this with you guys. Apparently erosion happens to only a small % of banders, but what do u know I'm in that percentage. The band somehow becomes infected and attaches itself to the stomach instead of surround it. That's why I never felt it. Pray for me and I'll keep u posted.

cpawelko, my doctor had a hard time filling my band which he found strange. Then I was also very sensitive again after I had thought I was already healed. He filled my band to its capacity & I had zero restriction. Then he removed all the fluid and had me get x-rayed. I'm very disturbed about having my band taken off, but I have no choice. Thanks Yukiko, but I listened to everyone including my doctor saying just give it time, when I knew somthing was wrong. My advise is if you don't feel right & if you have at least 4cc in your band & no restriction get it checked out. If I had persisted, my infection probably would not have gotten so bad. Because with an erosion you cannot heal without the fluid removed. So me waiting for my "sweet spot" only made it worst. Just be safe everyone my removal is scheduled for July 23rd, say a prayer for me:)

OK, I found out why I had no restriction. My band has an erosion. I'm so sad. I had 8cc in a 10cc band and nothing. So my doctor checked it out and it seems i have an infection. He removed all the fluid so now I have zero but I don't miss it because I never felt it anyway. Just so disappointed that after all I've been through I have to have my band removed before seeing any results.

So it's been about 3 months since my surgery. I have barely lost any weight & I am due my second fill tomorrow. I have zero restriction even after my first fill. Whats funny is my doctor put me on an appetite suppressant:rolleyes:. I've been working out and eating better since then, but it leads me to wonder couldn't I have done this without the band & $10000 debt, lol. I'm not complaining, I just pray that I feel something, anything after this next fill. I have kind of forgotten that I'm banded & just try to be healthier. My total weight loss in 3 months 10lbs.:crying: I'll let u know how it goes...

I am going to be patient and pray that I feel something after this one.

Ok so it's week two. I moved on to soft foods and I have started cheating:crying:. I have zero resistance in my band and so I take a bite here and there and the result I've gain 5lbs. I had lost 9lbs after being on the liquid diet. Then I strated eating and I'm in trouble. I still have 4 weeks before I can get a fill, but by then I don't know how much I will have gained. I know I can't work out now so maybe once I heal and can work out things may be a little better. I feel like such a loooser!!! This is why I got the band in the first place. What am I going to do?

He's my best friend. I've given in and I'm ashamed but so hungry all the time. I've been banded 3 weeks now and I have zero resistance. So after starving on my liquid diet for a week and a half I just started a bite here and there. Now I eat full meals. I can't wait to get filled I need HELP!!! But Good Luck to you, lol...

Thanks for all the advice and I feel a little better knowing I'm not the only one with no restriction. I have started the journal and even though my intake is really not much I'm still gaining. I just have to wait another three weeks for my fill. By then I don't know how much I will have gained. Also I have this weird pain in my navel does anyone else have this? Most of the tenderness has gone and my scars are almost healed but there's a permanent sore spot in my navel. Anyway I'm kinda pretending I never got banded just to maintain my sanity in the meantime. Thank goodness I didn't tell anyone I would feel even more like a loser,lol...

If you already have kids or don't plan on having one anytime soon go for the sleeve. I have the band and I wish I did the sleeve. The waiting for fills the adjustments etc. is just too much. With the sleeve it works without all that after care. Good luck and research research, I wish I had researched more. I would have gotten the sleeve.

I agree. I didn't do the pre-op liquid diet my BMI was 34 so my doctor said I only had to do it for 24hrs. Anyway this is day three after surgery and the liquid diet along with being sore and swollen really sucks. I just want to chew, so I chewed some gum not sure if its allowed but I needed to chew somthing. Anyway my surgery went well I'm healing fine, but I'm so hungry:(

I did mine 3 days ago in the Dominican Republic through Global medical services. Its been a good experience and I'm still here at the hotel healing. The services were great and the price is pretty low. I can give you details if you like.

I've never had any sugery before so I didn't know what to expect, but my pre-op tests came back excellent and so my doc said lets do this. I caught a cold so it was double trouble. I thought I was dying I was hurting (still am) all over. Today, day 1 post surgery: I finally got to sip on water and apple juice and I'm starving I would do anything for just a bite of anything. Anyway we'll see how things go. I didnt think it would be this hard:frown:

Hi everyone! I'm not a blogger but I need to share so here goes. I am going on monday April 13th,2009 to the DR to get banded. I'm doing this in secret and everyone thinks I'm going on vacation( I've only my sisters ). Anyway I'm so nervous & so ready. I didn't get approved in the US because they didn't think I was heavy enough, but after 32 yrs of yoyoing and having an unhealthy relationship with food, I need this help. I've been a size 2-18 and everything in between. I've done every diet, taken every pill, lived at the gym, but it always comes back:sad:. This is my last straw. WISH ME LUCK!!!:w00t:

Rhonda thanks for the warning. I am aware that nothing is 100% safe, but I have researched the facilities in the DR & I feel comfortable with my choice. I just have to have faith that I will be ok. And Sandy thank you & please keep in touch I will let you know how things go & you do the same.
