  1. Ok I tried the eas choc. pre mixed shake today and it was nasty. the first drink was ok but after that it went down hill. I do not like milk so i am trying to find some shake that does not compare to milk in any way. I would like something pre mixed if possible. I am afraid if i mix it myself i might add extra cals, carbs and fat to it. if anyone knows of any shakes that are not like milk or has any recipes please let me know. thanks

  2. i have this game too. now i am new at starting to exercise regular but i am a active person. this game kicks butt, i started sweating after the first couple of activities. and if you are doing them wrong it will let you know... I have wii fit too and must say it is not a challenge. the wii active is so much better. and cheaper then the wii fit was.

  3. I got my surg date today. it is june 30th. I meet Dr Woodman today for the first time ( before i only meet his staff.) He seems to be really nice, He tells you, you have to diet and exercise and the surg. is not magic. But if youy have been doing the research you should already know that.... But in all I think he seemed nice.. Hopefilly thing will stay the same.

  4. I spoke to my Dr. Office today and they told me they do not require a and diet before surg. I asked about the different liq/ Protein diet and she stated " no" they do not give their Pt's a diet to follow before surg. she said if I wanted to start on a diet then eat healthy and aiming for 800-1000 cals a day to get used to what my life will be like after surg. and if I drink coke then try and stop that now will help. but it was not required until after surg. I guess this is good but it does make me wonder why they are all different.

  5. I just called the ins company after my free seminar and ask if it was covered.. they told me Dr woodman was a in network provider and yes it was covered 100%. So i went to the initial visit April 1st and only paid the $20 co pay. at that visit they went over everything uhc wanted to cover it. but at that time nothing had been sent in. My paperwork was just summited to uhc 4/20 and on Friday i called uhc and they told me they received all the paperwork from Dr Woodman's office and I was approved. The Approval letter went out 4/23 in the mail. I have been amazed with uhc being so quick. I work in a dental office and have been dealing with ins company's and they like to give you the run around but i will say i have been impressed with UHC

  6. My plan covered my inital visit with the midsouth bariatrics. the only thing i had to pay was my $20.00 copay. There office did all my paperwork and sent in for the approval , my pcp did not do anything except write me a letter and refer me to them. I was told the only out of pocket cost would be the my $100 ded to the hosptial. The office and ins both told me this. with that said I may have to pay a $500 to the office for ongoing support with psych and nutl. They told me all clints have to pay this because the ins will not. I am checking into this because I can have twenty psych visit a year and now my nult visit on the other hand i have to pay for my ins will not cover this cost. they did cover the inital one with on the $20 copay but stated anything after that i would have to pay for. So at most i am looking at $600 out of pocket cost. plus any copays for fills.

  7. I got my approval today from uhc. I have not got the letter yet but I called today and they told me I was approved and the letters went out yesturday. my Dr office summitted my paperwork elet. at the beginning of the week and they made a approval in the same week. GO UHC for being on the ball.....

  8. Ok i my be jumping the gun. But i have been reading that two weeks before surg. You go on a diet that reduce liver size? So i am trying to make sure i can aim for a week my husband is on vaction to have my surg done. As long as all my test come back ok for the preop testing then it should not be a problem. So i want to go ahead and start this diet so there is not reason why they cant do the surg in this time frame. Can anyone tell me what it is. My doctors office has not said anything about it yet. But they dont tell you much before its time to have the next step done. So i wanted to know if anyone can tell me what it is? And if i should start it prior to the pre op testing or will that effect the test in some way? I am having my pre op testing done next week. Also can anyone tell me what it is. I have already done the phych and nutr. Assessment. That had to be done before it was sent into the ins comp. They have approved me. So the lady at the dr office said i would get a call monday to set up my testing and lab work for the surg. So does any one know what it is?

  9. I CALLED THE DOCTORS OFFICE TODAY AND THEY TOLD ME THEY SUMMITTED MY PAPERWORK AT THE BEGINNING OF THE WEEK. SO I CALLED TO CHECK WITH THE INS COMPANY WHICH IS UNITED HEALTH CARE SELECT PLUS PPO WITH THE CITY OF MEMPHIS. AND THEY SENT ME TO ANOTHER DEPARTMENT THAT HANDLE THE LAP BAND OR SURGS. AND SHE TOLD ME I WAS APPROVED AND THEY MAIL OUT THE LETTER TO ME AND THE DR OFFICE YESTURDAY. GO UHC FOR SUCH A FAST TURN OVER. NOW I HAVE TO WAIT ON THE MAIL MAN...... BUT I ALMOST CRYED I WAS SOOOOO HAPPY.

  10. i have uhc with the city of memphis, I was told all I need was the five year weight record and a letter from my doctor. The surg required me to do the psych and nult eval. My paperwork was summitted friday and I like you am stressed out trying to make sure they get it and dont sit on the pre approval ( or denial). I called today to the ins company and she told me it could take up to 30 days. But everyone that has it at the dr office says they get a fast response from uhc. I am given it till friday and calling the ins comp agian on friday to make sure they have everything. I have a control issue and hate that its not in my hands. I promise if I could take the paperwork down in person hand it to them and wait I would . its sad I know! :crying:

  11. Well I had my first visit with Dr Woodmans Office yesturday I had to watch this boring  video and go over what else I need before we send in to the ins comp. for approval. I thought I would have at least got to meet the Dr. But I only saw him on the video. My hisband and friend have both worked with him at Methodist Germantown but I think it would make a better impact if he meet his patient on the first visit I myself would rather ask him about any concern then his staff before I putting all this time into it if I had doughts. Anyways It went good alls my ins request is medical record ( which i took with me), a letter from my dr (which was faxed to them while I was there) the pshch and nutr. eval.:scared2: I have psych set up for wed. 4/8 but I am having a hard time finding the nutr. assessment. Anyone know of one in memphis or around the area that I can get into fast. I set up a appt with Dr Rice's office to find out once I got there that she did not do the assessment for psych because she was only a social worker and the Dr in the office that did it did not take my ins. I was so mad I asked every question and told them what I need when I mad the appt. So I went home and just started calling everyone on my ins list till I found Dr Amos. :cool2: He said he does this assessment for about all Dr woodmans pts. And I got a appt. for right away not weeks down the road. He spoke to me and set the appt up himself and email me all the 26 pages of paper work you fill out to do before the appt. which I thought was great. I hate sitting in a office filling out paperwork. He also told me he would have it to Dr woodman on that monday following my appt. I hope to find a nutr. soon my goal is to have everything I need to get sent off by 4/13. MY b-days in May and that would be the best b-day present ever to be able to have a date.. better yet have it done.... :tt2:

  12. Hey everyone! I just took my first step in this long journey. I went to the seminar at Baptist Memphis for Dr Woodman. My hubby and BF worked with him @ Methodist Germantown and say his is a Great Surgeon. My First office visit is 4/7. I have all my medical record and am setting up the phych and nutritional now. I call my ins. UHC they say it’s covered if medically Ness. I have a select plus ppo plan. Dr Woodman’s office said UHC does not make you do the 6 month sup. Diet. I have been on and off diet pills before and I would lose maybe 10 pounds in the first month and nothing else. It would keep me up for days until my body said STOP GET SOME SLEEP!!! Once I stopped taking them I would put the pound plus some back on. Anyways I am right at the 40 bmi and that worries me. I keep thing they might say I am borderline. I think I have some co health problems. I am insulin resistant, PCOS, I have anxiety/ depression ( like everyone who is over weight). Reflux and have to take meds for that. This past year my B/P has been up and down. sometime normal other time high. My good cholesterol is low but my bad is ok and my total is ok, oh and on top of it I have a small goiter and "borderline" hypothyroidism. I love how Dr's tell you, you are BORDERLINE on everything. I guess will see in a couple of weeks. I would like to know if anyone else has this ins. plan or works for the city of Memphis. Thanks :cursing:
