I was also banded on the 7th. I had a rough first three days, but yesterday I felt alot better. Enough that I overdid and had a rough night. I am just on a liquid diet with lots of protein drinks. I can only drink small amounts at a time and it takes a good hour and a half for one 10 oz glass to go down. Haven;t had any nausea unless I drink to fast. But am taking reglean every six hours for nausea. Maybe you just need more protein in your diet, I know if I don't drink mine I do feel light headed. Hi was banded on the 7th and I feel the same way, can't stand the smell or sight of food. I can barely get all of the protein drinks in. Maybe at the most three a day. Other then that I ma feeling pretty good today. Hope it stays this way, so the pounds will drop off. (FAST)

Today is my preop diet also, I have to be there at 7:00 Am and I am really excited. Can't wait to get started on my diet and shed some much needed weight. Good luck to everyone having the surgery in the next few days.

Mine is May 7th and I am so excited. I have been on the high protein diet preop and I have lost 7.5 pounds in 4 days. I hope it is this easy after. Good luck to everyone....

Congrats... I just got my approval today also, should here about date in next couple of days. She told me it would be in May. I can not wait for that day and the new me to come out.

Hi, I am wondering if anyone has had a hard time losing weight before surgery? I have been dieting and excering for 8 weeks now and have not lost a pound. My concern is this: If I can't lose weight before on diet and excerise can I lose it after with the band? I am really concerned about this. The weight lose program I do is through a doctor and he also leads the excerise class, twice a week and I walk in between them times. What am I doing wrong and will the band actually help me. Guess I am a little scared.

I eat about 1000-1200 calories a day and the excerise that we do are stretches, and low impact cardio work out. Plus I walk about a mile to mile and half a day around 5 days a week. I just got my call I was approved by my insurance company, surgery in May but will know the date in a day or two.

I was glad to hear what you wrote about your research on year about the low BMI, I hope that this is true that the lower the BMI the faster you lose weight, I can't wait to start shedding these pounds and to start feeling better.So glad this site is here to help us out and to discuss all the things going through our heads before and after surgery. Hi I am also at 215 weight and would love to lose 70 lbs, I have everything done, waiting for insurance approval. I am really excited to start my new life. I also have high blood pressure and just found out I am a borderline diabetic. I am 54v years old and am 5'41/4". So i am also at the low end. What scares me is heart problems are bad in my family, my mom was 49 died with massive heart attack and brother was 46 and died the same way. Me I want to be here to enjoy my grandkids and live a long and healthy life. I am so excited to get this show on the road and work hard at losing this excess baggage. On to a much better me. Hi, I am new to this site, had my pysch evaluation today and was approved, now waiting for insurance company approval. I can't wait for that to come, this should all be going fast from here on out I hope. I am ready to lose this weight, today I found out I am a borderline diabetic, that is so scary for me. So see my health is all pointing to getting my weight undercontrol. Keep me in all of your prayers as I will all of you also.

I haven't had my surgery yet, just went today for psych evauation and was approved, now waiting on a date. I am very nervous. We have heart problems in my family along with diabeties. I was called this morning that I am a borderline diabetic, and that has put the fear of God in me. I feel like crying. So this surgery can not come fast enough for me. I am ging to work hard on losing this extra weight that I have been carrying around for 28 years. So I hope that evrything goes as I have been told about surgery.
