    Does the fill hurt??

I have a fear of needles also. Got my first fill on Monday and started talking about the interesting post on this site to occupy my self. I had my arms over my eyes the whole time and continued talking about the wonderful site about the lap band. It was uncomfortable, but it did not hurt at all.
  3. Hello everyone, Had my fill appointment today. I was worried about how much weight I lost, I didn't think I came down at all. Well, I actually lost 8lbs. I told my self that on this visit I wanted to be under 200lbs. I am now 198lbs and loving it. Now about the fill. It was really uncomfortable, not really a pain thing, just the thought of what was going on was the issue for me. I had a 3cc fill today and I really feel the difference. I felt the difference when the fluid was going in and really can tell now that I had some broth. I am now comfortable, not full, with 1/2 cup of broth. Now I am hoping to loose about 8 to 10 pounds before my next visit. Thanks for all the advise, it really helped me.
  4. I had a so called really good friend stop talking to me for a couple of days. I decided to treat her the same way I have always treated her with kindness and nothing less. She is the one with the problem, I am getting healthier and progressing. She has to deal with her health and progress. She is the only one being mean to me, everyone else is very supportive and interested in my procedure. The men are really being nice and that is funny to me. I am the same person no matter how the outside looks.

    1st fill

I need some advice. I had my band placed on 2-24-09 and I am not scheduled for a fill until 4-13. I am hungry every hour on the hour now. I follow the high protein meal plan and also utilize the protein shakes. I am wondering should I request an early appointment for my fill, it is getting hard not to eat every hour on the hour. Please help with any suggestions  !!!!!!!!!

    Confused with terminology

Thanks everyone for helping me out with all the information. I can fully understand what I am reading now. Smartiegirl the link was a big help and I printed it out, posted it by my computer for future use. As for the carrot issue, I have no problem with cooked carrots or any other foods right now (fingers crossed) but I have to remember not to drink and eat at the same time or chew my foods really good.

    Questions after first fill

I was banded on 2-24 and scheduled for 1st refill on 4-13; I really think I need to go sooner than I am scheduled. I am hungry every hour on the hour now. I can eat maybe the same amount as if I did not have the band. I am trying to watch what I eat, but the hunger is really bad. Do you guys think I should get an earlier fill appointment if possible or should I continue watching what I eat and keep the scheduled appointment. It is getting hard not to eat enough to kill the hunger, HELP :smile2:
  10. Hello everyone I am a new bander. I have been looking through some of the post and I am trying to understand some of the words or abrevations. I am going for my first fill on 4/13 and I would like to know what you guys mean by restrictions? Also I have seen pb or pbed and I do not understand what it stands for. I enjoy reading the post and a lot of them have answered some of my questions; but I need to fully understand what I am reading. Thanks HONEYDIVA33 Banded 2-24-09
  11. I had my surgery 2/24/09 and lost 16 pounds so far. I was not able to exercise as much, but I have the go ahead to start a good exercise program now. I feel hungry all the time. I eat 3 meals a day and it seems like every two hours I am hungry again. I go for a band refill in April, but I would love suggestions on what to do about the every two hours issue.
