That is super!....and a lot of weight in a short time. I am thinking I need to be more agressive with my fills. I only have had a 2cc and a .5 cc fill and I was bandedon 9/8. I am down 23 pounds but it is so VERY slow. I have an appointment Monday and I am goign to push for a decent fill. It seems a waste to go thoruhg all of that for .5cc. Good news is I uped my exercise yesterday and plan to stick with it. Got my eliptical up and running and now there are no excuses! Congratulations all you BIG LOSERS!

Hi everyone....and Happy Turkey Day! I am glad to see someone else with a 10cc band. I just found out this week that I have a 10 cc band. I got a 2cc fill last month and a 1 cc fill this week. I only lost 1 pound during the month between fills. They said sinc emy band is small, my fills will be small. I am feeling liek I stay full longer with the 3ccs I have now but wow, when I am hungry--I am HUNGRY! I have another appointment in ealry Decemebr abnd I am going to schedlue another fill right away...won't wait a month this time. I am happy with the 22+ pounds I have lost and since I told NO ONE that I had the surgery. No one has even noticed that I have lost any weight at all!

Gee, I have never heard of a 43cc band. Of course, I have no idea what mine is. Need to ask at my second fill. I am happy with mine so far. The loss is slow but that is OK. I didn't tell ANYONE I had a band put on so slow is good.

That is a sahme you have to pay for each fill. Today my Dr. pre-authorized me for up to 7! Yikes, I hope I don't need that many! She did confirm that the limit is 2cc for each one. I asked why and told her I had seen many poeple post fills of 4.o and 4.5. She said tehre are too many complications and people ending up coming in under emergency conditons, etc. I guess I am OK with that. I set up another for 11/23. She didn't mention anything about my rate of loss, I guess it was acceptable to get another one...20 pound in about 7 weeks. Now I need to focus on a plan of attack for the holidays!!!

That's great news! My Dr. had me on the GI x-ray machine WHILE he did the fill. It was pretty cool, you could watch everythign on camera. Your lucky you could EAT. I have to go back to one day liquids and then 5 days pureed after every fill. Realloy makes the timing important! Keep up the great work!

I have heard that too - about the restriction starting a few weeks after the fill. But, I just don't see how that would make sense. They claim there is swelling after the fill and you would THINK that alone would make you feel restricted. I was told to eat the pureed diet for 5 days after my first fill. I was starving within 18 hours! It is a week today and I still do not feel any different than I did before. My doctor said I can call again in 2 weeks. I am headed to Greece in a little under 2 weeks so I don't want to do anyting before my trip...maybe when I return. I guess it is still Ok, I am still losing...just 1 pound this week but I guess it is better than gaining! I have always lost weight so quickly (the time I have actually tried!) so it is disappoinitng how slowly it is coming off. I have been losing .7 - 2.7 per week. I guess I was unrealistic, but when I read the big numbers others are posting...I feel like a slacker. NEED to exercise more!

Hi everyone, Had my first fill last week. Didn't seem to do anything at all. I WAS surprised that it hurt when they stuck that needle in but I guess I should have expected it. I have had no trouble with any foods, only general GAS. I nhad a 2cc fill which is the LIMIT at U of P for a first fill. I have lost about 20 pouinds since my band 9/8 (about 6 weeks) so I do fill up more quickly, but WOW within 3 hours I am hungrt like a bear!

    Does everything make you gassy?

I am having the same problem. I bought some Gas x for work, etc. It seems like the gas is continual....not related to any special food or drink.

I think it really helps to keep a food log. I even kept one when I was all liquids. It is a pain, but it works. There are many online but I have had more success with the little book you carry with you. Calorie King makes a great little one that they sell at Barnes and Nobel. It is the perfect size.

Wow, I thought I read a lot before my surgery but now I feel like I know nothing. What are the "foamies" and this "slimming" thing people talk about. I am 4 weeks out and had 1 slice of pizza one night this week for dinner and felt fine. Maybe it is becasue I have not had a fill yet. I feel like I eat MUCH MUCH less than pre-band days and fill up quickly but I ahve had no trouble with any kind of food. Maybe I am getting over-confident. Are things different after the fill? I am losing 2 pounds per week, sometimes a bit more, sometimes a bit less.

welcome to Sexy Septembers! I think you are losing pretty much that same as me. What type of exercising are you doing? Thanks Dee, Good point, I have not started my exercise yet. I was pretty sick after surgery and stayed in the hospital 2 nights. Then I came home and we had 2 deaths in the family. Enough excuses! It's time to get moving with some physical activity.

So glad to find this thread. I was banded Sept. 8 and will get my first fill 10/19. I have lost about 17 pounds and have no trouble with any kind of food or drink. I do feel like everyone else has lost more weight than I have...only losing about 1.5 to 2.5 per week.
