    Exercise Today

If this is a private question I understand....but what do personal trainers charge for their services and what do you get in return? I realize it will vary a lot but just curious. I'd like to have someone to kick my butt during workouts.

    New diet i found

Vidalias are common around here...of course I live in Augusta Georgia....so Vidalia Georgia isn't so far away. They are a much tastier onion than any of the others I have tried....IMHO anyways. The soup isn't a miracle...you can't live on it forever.....you won't keep the weight off if this is the only method you use to lose......we've established this a hundred times in this thread already.......I don't know why some posters have to come on and preach despite the fact that in numerous previous posts many of us have already made it crystal clear that it is only a part of our overall plan. Human nature I guess. PS....I second the smaller hunks of tomato...the stewed tomatoes are too big for my liking.

    Walking / Jogging

The Pros...FAR outweigh the cons in my opinion and I have never heard of a trainer recommend not lifting weights. That is mind boggling. :faint: I think some people are looking at this issue at far too deep a level....if you are a competitive athlete who is hardcore training and looking for maximum lean muscle gain then trying to cut fat while bulking is very difficult and not efficient at all. If you are a fat person looking to lose weight and look better then lifting weights is an essential part of your routine and anything you do will be better than nothing. Tissue repair, ideal formulas, cell reconstruction...etc are all much more advanced topics than the average person needs to deal with until a very high level of fitness is achieved. It's one thing to be informed....it's another thing to suffer from paralysis by analysis. Eat good, Lift stuff, exercise. It will work.....as always....JMO and YMMV.

    New diet i found

To each their own but I am using the soup as a regular meal and skipping the rest of the diet plan and I am losing just fine. The diet is too restrictive for my tastes so I am just using the soup as a meal.
  12. Yes we could see the concern in your post. It's not that you are a condescending snob...but rather you are simply an angel looking out for everyone's well being. Yes that was apparent to everyone who read your post. :devious

    Road to "TWOterville"

15lbs here.....upped my excercise dramatically in the last 2 days including weights and cardio. Minus 16 lbs in a little over 2 weeks.......trying to avoid the first plateau until after I am in Twoterville.
  15. Dude...file for pain and suffering, lost time from work...etc. You will probably never collect but at least get the judgement and go from there.

    New diet i found

It's good. I am a meat and potatoes kind of guy (aren't we all I guess)....and I never used to eat soup and even I like it. The best part of it is you can eat it until it's coming out your ears and it will still only be a couple hundred calories if you follow the recipe.

    Strengh Training...YES OR NO ???

I am not sure of your calculations but somehow you have to figure in that if you do not lift to gain or retain lean muscle that you resting calorie rate will eventually decline. This is effect can be magnified if you factor in that if you are able to gain lean mass it would go up....so you can double the effect in theory...instead of going down .1 it goes up .1 for a net gain of .2 calories per minute. I don't know if these numbers are correct but rather the theory behind it I guess is my point. I think we could probably agree that the best thing to do is give in and do both. :nervous

    Strengh Training...YES OR NO ???

If you design your lifting regimen correctly you will burn as many calories lifting as you will with cardio. In fact you can do circuit training and make the weight lifting an aerobic event if you so choose....it's all about what you are trying to accomplish. The added benefit of lifting weights is that once you start to develop muscle you will burn more calories all day long...even sitting on the couch. It isn't such a delicate balance in my opinion......Eat good foods and work out hard. Your body will take care of the rest.

    Strengh Training...YES OR NO ???

Some truth to what the trainer is saying however......weight training is still a good idea. The benefits are endless in that you will become harder, more flexible, stronger, have more endurance etc....even if you don't pack on lbs of muscle. You can burn fat and gain muscle at the same time....you just have to be very smart about what you eat and how you exercise.

    Why does cold food/liquids hurt?

You could also put the ice chips in your mouth....let them melt and then swallow so they won't feel so cold. Just a thought.....good luck.

    Road to "TWOterville"

I am on the road to Twoterville as well. I have debated the surgeries and the issues that come along with it and I guess I am not ready to accept that I cannot beat this issue with my mind. It's all a head game....and I refuse to lose......so I guess I will be flying solo to see how I can do. 331 was my heaviest...weighed in at 321 today after about a week of dieting. So -10lbs in the first week is not too bad I guess....21 more to go and I will weigh Two Something instead of Three something...that will feel good.
  25. Wanted to share..... 1. The Funnyduddy Soup is awesome! If you haven't tried it then you are missing out if you are a soup fan. Check the food Forum for more information. :hungry: :clap2: 2. Crystal Light (actually bought the Wal Mart brand) is also awesome! No calories...and it tastes great! I've been looking for something to replace my Diet Pepsi habit and I just did. :clap2: That is all. :heh:
