  1. I started at 215 and I am 5"4". I was higher than that bfore getting banded which was May of 09. I had my surgery 5 hours from home so I had a hard time getting down there (LA) for fills. That, and the slackfulness of the last three months really slowed things down.I am not mad at myself now because I am back on track.I got to perfect restriction with my second fill in October and then the slacking began I guess.I am at 181 today and at 180 I will be halfway to goal...at 175 I will no longer be obese...yay!!Still lazy on the exercise though!

  2. I bet you still look and feel great! As tall as you are, I bet thirty pounds isnt too bad...and of course well worth it in exchange for a child. Do you feel confident in the band and in yourself that you know you'll never be that girl at the lake (before photo) again? Thanks for the info!

  3. Splash is just a block down the hill from SLO high School so I think my daughter is there every day! Let me know when you are up here...it would be really fun to meet. I work about half time (every other week) in Sacramento so if I am here, lets go eat chowder! My profile pic is the view from my deck. Its really Shell Beach.

  4. Oh, I forgot to answer about the calories...I run right around 1000 to 1200 when I am doing it right. I mean eating only when hungry, stop when not hungry (not in pain or even full!) and NO liquids around eating time!I probably eat 5 or 6 small (less than 1 cup) meals a day. I have been doing good for almost three weeks..LOL!

  5. I am curious how you would compare the pain/recovery of your TT to the lap band surgery? You really look amazing!!!

  6. Hey Baby, six more days...let us all know how you are doing as soon as you can!!!!

  7. Hey! Hows it going? I think I am levelling off around 140 and I think that's ok. I'm happy here. Of course I would like to see 139 but I'm not making any effort!

  8. Im doing good...kind of stuck at 176 which is great but 174 will be out of the obese range so I cant wait to see it! I am curious although its none of my biz, exactly what your revision will involve? And when was your original GB? Will they hook you up lower down the intestinal road, so to speak, as I think they go lower on the more recent procedures?anyway I hope you wake up in one of those abdominal binders...a lot of people didnt get one and I think mine made a huge difference in pain level...I tell people to go get one at the drug store...it really holds everything snug..I think I wore mine for two weeks and whenever I took it off to shower things hurt because of gravity!!Oh,also you must be staying over night right? Thats good I think...even for my little ol band, I wish I had!

  9. Hope you'll be blogging soon...the LB world is dying to know how youre doing...

  10. Ooooooh! 199 is onederland baby!!!Congrats! You must be doing great!! Do you follow band_groupie's blog?...you would probably love it!

  11. The truth is I CANT remember a size ten at least since college (20+ years!)!!Well congrats on your date...do you have a tough preop diet to do? Its a great birthday present to yourself....and next year's will be even better!

  12. I think you're really going to do great because you have the whole thing (life I guess) in good perspective! One tiny piece of advice, Make sure you are geeting an abdominal binder..mine was on me when I woke up and he said keep it on for two weeks. You can get one at a drug store and it will make your first week a piece of cake. Otherwise your tummy kind of pulls whichever way if youre standing or lying down or whatever and its quite painful...the binder just keeps everything snugged in! Its just a big elastic thing with velcro but it really helped especially with post op sleeping...good luck, you wont need the luck!

  13. Hi! I saw your message to SanDiegoUberMom and thought I would chime in. How are you doing in the decision process? My opinion is if you can and have lost a significant amount of weight in the past but never really kept it off the band may be right for you. At this point I would say its 50% band 50% my effort.

But if you are morbidly obese and have many other related health problems then a major procedure may be more appropriate.Thats just my two cents...PS I went to Dr. Oliak in Orange and I LOVE him and his staff!

  14. That 'article' about the 301 pounds and the fast food diet should be removed from this site. If you are responsible for it please do so. Its a piece of crap..."evasive surgery"???I think the author means 'invasive' and its inappropriate on this site! Thanks

  15. I now know why they called the '70s the 'me' decade...because Im livin' there!!! Woo, hoo!!!

  16. Hey, Chooky, what's up down there?

  17. I'm ten pounds overweight, yay! (was once 70!)

  18. Hey! I saw your post in a thread about a bad xperience with a donut. Why not go to Sacramento for a fill? I had my surg done in LA and I live in Pismo beach(4-5 hours or double if bad traffic) well that's just my two cents...good luck!...I finally got hooked up with a doc in Santa Barbara (90miles) and I can do it in a morning.

  19. I am three pounds overweight...yay!

  20. Yes those seashells had to be made a bit smaller but I liked being a skinny mermaid! Today is candy day!

  21. I havent told anyone except my liitle family. I am still gurgling on liquids from my fill even at 12:30 in the afternoon but I could eat a little soft food last night at dinner...I'm GLAD to be tight so far!

  22. You are one 'head' away from half way!!!!

  23. Just curious...what do you mean when you say you have a 10cc band tht holds 4cc? PS You have really done great...

  24. Oh I really feel for you. You might want to consider going to another pharmacy (you'll pay a lot more) for just one or two months if you can afford it to see if it would get you through this beginning part. It seems to me any extended release pill would also have a regular one with three times a day dosing which you could just chew (with a flintstones vitamin for flavor!) like I do! Good luck, fri

  25. You look like one of those skinny girls who has never known what its like to be or feel fat...I mean that as a huge compliment! You have worked hard and it really shows!!!
