    Exhuasted

I dont really like chinese and I dont eat meat but the DH does so heres what I eat. Egg drop soup (good protein I guess) and rangoons (more protein but like most chinese food greasy). Oh, and I had half of a veggie egg roll. (the egg roll might be a risk for getting stuck if thatis your concern...bring your papaya enzyme!)
  2. I cant even believe your pictures! Part of me thinks you are some european supermodel who killed that poor heavy girl in the Pizza Hut uniform and has her in the crawlspace...never to be heard from again!!! You are so beautiful!!! (Thanks for osting the pix of the tuck...you know were all considering it but also scared!!)

  3. Sorry, the username is ThomasSpencer and the most recent one is today, "why custom wedding dress is..." Its just an ad and not even a person who has anything to do with us! He has done at least four blogs! Thanks!!

  4. Hi! Since you are a moderator can you get rid of some guy who's trying to sell wedding dresses on his blog? It really bugs me for some reason!!!

    Itchy Feet

I got drunk a little quicker but probably only because I hadnt had any for a month preop and a month post op! Now I'm back to my usual self...I do love an ice cold martini!!! Maybe I should hang the shaker in front of me on the treadmill...
  6. Hey how are you doing? Feel free to whinge!!! (does it rhyme with binge and hinge?) I cant think of any good slang for you but I will...some I may have to PM as it may not be PC!!

  7. Your body is usually in a good balance and it has bacteria all over it and in every orifice. They are kind of like good soldiers on patrol. But when the doc runs in those antibiotics (to keep you from a bad surgical infection) it can kill some of your good soldiers and let yeast (everywhere, its even in the air) grow in your mouth and vagina (vajayjay!LOL!) way more than normal. Its usually white and in the V, its itchy!! Anyway the yogurt with active cultures usually gets you back to normal but for now, if it is thrush (oral yeast called candida) the 'swish and swallow' antifungal is probably the way to go!Good luck!!!

how did your first week go?

The pain meds cause major constipation but you also have to remember you're not putting much in the system, So not much to come out! I felt pretty great by day three (gas and surgery pain pretty much gone)and then the fatigue/exhaustion came over me...I napped every day for two weeks! I guess I lived on Slim Fast and some thin soups...now they both make me want to gag! I added protein powder to the soups because I knew part of the tiredness was the nutritional deficiency of the procedure and the days after. I never had any appetite at all for more than a month...now I see how lucky I was! Good luck!!!

    8/3/09 Head Shots

WOW! HUGE difference and by the way, there is no double chin in the after smiling picture...there isnt!!! You went from tired mom to hot LA mom who has eight nannies and nothing to do but get manicures and go to the gym! Kind of hating you, Love, D
  12. Yeah, I can really eat anything...if I get stuck its not the specific food, its me not chewing or paying attention!!

Lunch with Dave, I'm so FRUSTRATED!!!

I hope this isnt rude, but it sounds like Dave's more concerned about himself when this is really all about you. He cant have failed you because he isnt you!We can really only fail ourselves as we are entirely responsible for ourselves...I would have wanted to say, "You didn't fail me, let it go, this is NOT about you!"

those of you with ideal restriction

Dear Airkuhl, It sounds like you have it down to an science, or maybe an art! Congrats...but..do you agree that its still a struggle?

those of you with ideal restriction

I am almost three months out and have had, I think, perfect restriction since day one with an empty band! Its weird because I have never had a fill but I know I'm lucky. I dont eat meat so I am always looking for protein (cottage cheese, fish, beans, eggs etc). I imaging my one-cup bowls and try to eat that, mostly protein three or four times a day. I let myself have literally anything after the atleast half cup of protein....no regard to fat, cals, etc. I am not on a diet, I just eat less and focus more on protein. I cant eat a cup of anything at breakfast because I am tighter then. I can eat any food and not get stuck but get stuck on anything if I dont chew...good luck! This is very hard work, harder than I thought! (In the evening I know I could eat a whole giant bag of M&Ms but I usually just let my self have the small one and only once in a while when I cant get it off my mind.)
  16. I LOVE my left shoulder pain..its a warning that if I take two more bites of food I'll REALLY be in the hurt bag! If the pain is made worse or better by eating, then I think it has to be diaphragm/band (referred) pain!
  17. I cant really believe that's you in one of your 'before' pix! Now, you look like one of those skinny girls who doesnt even know the word diet! Seriously you are BEAUTIFUL!! You have done great and I'm sure it wasnt easy!!

  18. Awesome...YOU are long and lean...I'll be happy to be short and lean! LOL!
  19. Miss your blogs!!

  20. PS Did you see Wendytip also is in onederland? I'm nagging her to do some more pix too!

  21. Half your heads are gray!!! And half are the Marilyn Monroe ones...nice!!

Time for a new set of the spandex pix!!! (I nag!)

7/30/09 Celebrate Good Times, Come On!

Thanks for the stats...I guess we all compare ourselves to others but sometimes you see someone who seems to have lost a lot more than you a lot faster but when you break it down...well you know! I saw a guy the other day with my same band date who's lost twice as much as me...grrrrr!But: A. He's a GUY! B. He may have had a much higher BMI than me and C. He may have lost a lot before surg if he had a 6 month preop diet!

    7/29/09 Restriction; an Urban Legend?

I am so happy and excited for you...overweight, onederland, and restricted! Sounds weird but its all good to those in the know!! Sometimes I think I'm a freak to have restriction with an empty band but I guess its the good kind of freak! I just got painful/stuck/ gag/foam/slime on some pecan halves...I was on the computer and that spells distraction! I can still feel it but now that its little more than uncomfortable I try to kind of enjoy it (band working) and learn from it (brain not always working). PS: THRILLED for DD!

I'm In THE Club: Club Bandster

Seems like most are same-day...once you can drink and keep down fluid you're gone. The truth is, I wish I could have stayed the night. If your procedure is late in the day you often do stay and some docs just keep all their lap banders over...
  25. Welcome...this is such a great site! I think we are very supportive but also brutally honest when its needed! I got my band on May 6th and only wish I had done it sooner. I really decided to do it when somehow it dawned on me that I have been fighting this battle for 20 years and I realized I was losing! Let us know what we can do for you and ask ANYTHING you want...good luck! Cali
