  1. ESV, I know its not as healthy but I put kind of a lot of mayo in the egg salad and in my tuna or I cant get it down...I know its a lot of fat and cals but I am eating such small portions I dont think its that bad. I have tried lite and low fat mayo and I just cant stand them!! I really want to pick up that premade quinoa salad today...I love that stuff and its very easy to eat. Do you also eat falafel and hummus?
  2. I have not heard any bad stories from the LA area. Of course, I am wondering who your doc was. Mine was Oliak but I know it wasnt him because he doesnt use Realize. These docs make big money and certainly dont want bad word of mouth on them...I might mention that in my next e mail or call to their office! As I said in your thread...1. ALL records 2. Lawyer 3. Good luck friend!!!

    My Dr. ruined me financially.

PLEASE!!!! Before you do anything to indicate to the doc's office that you are planning to do something...get ALL of your records. Go through them and make sure nothing looks like it has been altered. Pay them whatever you have to to get copies of EVERYTHING! You are legally entitled to all the records and you are going to need them but they may drag their feet if they think you are talking to a lawyer or whatever. Also have your primary doc request ALL of your records because they may be more cooperative/forthcoming and less suspicious with a doctors office! Good luck to you. AFTER all the records are in your hands find a nice lawyer who wont charge you just to hear your story...I highly recommend starting your lawyer search with women lawyers...Prob not PC to say so but I think statistically less likely to see you as a place to make more $$$....good luck!
  4. Yes, I am leaving myself a message...actually I just wanted to say that my new Avatar is an idea stolen from Lellow...if you dont know her you should!!! The first pair is a Levi's 16 and they are totally stretched out probably to an !

18!! The current pair (yes, they ARE snug!!) is a size 10 Levi's!!

  5. Hey Lellow, Hows it going? Loving life at goal!?! I stole your jeans idea for a picture for my avatar! The original pair is a stretched out Levi's 16 short...the newest (yes they are snug!!!) is a Levi's 10 short...well the short part doesnt change....I had a couple of months of plateau where I needed a fill but was out of town for work...I felt lucky to maintain but now I got a couple of fills and I am back in the game...

  6. Ok heres the rest...

To your question about not getting too skinny, thats the great thing about the band. Right now mine is preventing me from eating more than about 1/2 cup of food at one time so I eat about 4 to 5 tiny meals and I feel great. Full and really never hungry. But if I was at goal, I would have a little taken out because long term I want to eat more of a normal meal but only at lunch and dinner. The band really works great when its filled right and you can have it how you want it!I hope that makes sense, good luck and let me know if theres any thing I could answer!

I started the whole thing at 215lbs (I'm 5'4") and in the first three months got to 190...then travel plateau!!!Diane

  7. Not sure how I ended up seeing your post in the October thread but I wanted to message you since our stats, goals are similar. I was banded in May and I lost weight really well with my band empty for a couple of months. Then it loosened up and I needed a fill but I was working out of town for another couple of months and I was lucky to just maintain. Now this month I got two fills only about a week apart and I feel I am perfect now in restriction and can start losing again.

Sorry, note too long, second message...Diane

  8. Oh, good luck on your surgery and MAKE SURE they are giving you an abdominal binder for afterwards...otherwise go buy one at a drugstore!! It holds your sore tummy in where if you take it off gravity pulls your tummy even in bed and you are miserable! Let me know if you have any other questions....Diane

  9. I got the whey protein powder from GNC and added it to vegetable soups. I like those soups in a box kind of like a milk carton...they're made by V-8. Tomato and butternut squash were the best. Cottage cheese is good if you like it.

    Vegetarian

I also eat fish.I love those new thai spice and sun dried tomato tuna cans!! I eat some eggs, and egg salad, lots of cheese, some tofu, and hummus and other beans. I didnt know quinoa was so good I'll have to get more of that. They have little premade salads of it at New Frontiers which is like Whole Foods if you have that. I limit the tofu/soy products because of the estrogen.I do love that Eggplant tofu thing at Panda express. Otherwise here in CA its pretty easy to get veg or even vegan stuff everywhere.
  11. Thought I would send you a little message of support. If you are not filled to the sweet spot you are struggling too much. Yes there is work and behavior change but the worst of it is in between needed fills. I needed a fill for two months and couldnt get one due to work travel and I feel I really suffered just to maintain my weight...I could eat ANYTHING and if I had good willpower well I prob wouldnt have had to fork out a ton of cash ( yes, self pay!) for this band!!Now I got two fills just about ten days apart and I am so thankful to only be able to eat tiny meals...otherwise PAIN and slime!!! Also, I really dont exercise much and when I am good on the fill I still lose...hope this is helpful, good luck..Diane

  12. Dear ESV, Just hang in there!I consider myself a vegetarian but I do eat fish...I am curious if you do? Anyway I also eat a lot of cottage cheese (with salsa on it, go figure!), hummus, egg salad, cheese of any kind, and lots of tofu and veggie/mushroom stirfry. I also LOVE the regular Boca burger although I still have some difficulty chewing it enough!I dont eat any low fat or diet foods but my restriction keeps me from eaing more than a small portion...

    Seven Months with my Band!

Glad you're back to blog...I have had a couple of months of needing a fill but couldnt travel all that way to get one...I guess Im just happy to not have gained! Anyway I got two fills this month and now I am nice and snug!! I dont think I could eat a full cup f anything so I am just doing four or even five tiny meals and its good so far...I really envy you your 60lb loss but I have to just be happy with what I have so far...hope you can blog once in a while for us!!
  16. Hey! How is it going???

  17. Jigglypuff...where are you...???

  18. Anything new down there? I am just now getting back on track I guess after a couple of months of needing a fill and not being able to get one...I was just happy not to gain during that time! Now I can only eat tiny meals or get a bitch-slap from the mistress of bitch-slaps...my band! Let me know how youre doing...

  19. Hey what's new? Well I lost my good restriction a couple of months ago and the was out of town for weeks and weeks so anyway I finally got two fills this month and I am in a good place...I can only eat a little bit so hopefully I will start losing again...let me know how you are doing!!

  20. Hey how is it going???

  21. For me now that I have good restriction I seriously cannot eat more than a half cup of food at a time. I have to eat really slow and that has taken the fun out of it...that's a really GOOD thing for me. Part of it is getting the right level of restriction and part of it is your own mental will power...I think its the combination of both that makes so many people successful long term. Stay on this site to keep yourself focused and read everything by people like jachut, band_groupie, and imaluckydog...they tell it like it is!!
  22. I am hoping you're doing well, post procedure. Was it done for cosmetic reasons or was your port flipped or inaccessable? Let us know how you are feeling...

    Breakfast Issues

I am too tight even ith hot coffe first so I have a protein shake in the morning. I think if I just waited a couple of hours I would be ok and sometimes I can eat eggs but I dont see what the crime is of the shake. It start off a good day in terms of protein because I am a vegetarian I have to keep good track of that. Then I am eating healthy, real food, the rest of the day!

Finally, the scale is moving faster!

Those words, "eat on time, enjoy every bite, and be in control" should be embroidered on a pillow...they are words to live by...thanks!!

    First Week - Liquid Diet

The more solid your food is it will stay in the pouch longer and keep you satisfied longer. Even now though, I get a crazy growly stomach but when I really think about it I'm not actually hungry. Its weird! By the time I can say I am actually hungry, the growling has usually stiopped. I am trying to train myself to really look for real hunger before I let myself eat...interestingly, my husband has always done that naturally and I guess that's why he's thin! Good luck, it sounds like you are doing well.
