I guess its better than watching TV?

Beans are probably the cheapest most nutritious food available...I eat them every day. I'm no chef so I soak the night before and then put them in the crock put with whatever else I have!
-
I just use one cup glass bowls...

Stalled! Need Suggestions
xavier replied to Lakeshia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had two long plateaus and each time I thought well this is it or I have to start dieting (which I no longer believe in!). I went for a fill both times and started losing again! -
I cannot for the life of me imagine what your doc is thinking! If you are eating around the band (sliders) emptying and refilling the band will have no effect at all! Seriously, how could it?

I Had Lap Band Surgery 8 Days Ago And I Still Feel Iky...do Others Feel This Way?
xavier replied to mjp33's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Totally normal and you are still healing! -
If I deprive myself, I end up wanting to binge later...
-
Very normal, I usually have a protein drink in the mornings. Just like my wedding ring, my band is very tight in the morning and actually too loose in the evening. Not because of calories but because of heartburn I have to really work not to snack at night...its all good!

Travelling After Lap Band Surgery On Puree Diet?
xavier replied to Fabsab's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I dont think it should be a problem. I think take your protein powder to toss into whatever you eat (smoothies, soups etc) and youll be fine! PS: I dont think I have seen anyone on this site who got staples! Any idea why your doc used them for such small incisions? Just curious... -
I guess i have done plenty of vomiting in the 2.5 years since I got my band but my doc sews his bands in place and has never even had one slippage...
-
Mine looks like a golf ball these days and I'm pretty proud of it! I just dont have any fat there to hide it anymore!
-
I definitely eat A LOT less. I used to eat all of a regular restaurant meal and now I bet I barely eat 1/4th of it...those portions are for NFL players! But over the 2+ years since I got my band I have kind of naturally shifted to a much healthier diet! I dont eat any meat but fish and I really focus on the good kinds of proteins like beans and fish because I dont have room for the junk...one 100-calories pack of something like cookies or chips and I'm full so I really cant waste the space with stuff like that...but sometimes I do eat some junk and I dont worry about it. Sometimes I just want cake so I eat it!

There is clear liquid protein called isopure...tastes like crap but it might help fill you up. I got it at GNC.This part of your journey just sucks...hang in there! -
Weight has magically drifted to 139! When/if I get to 135 I will do a new after photo...this one was at 145.

Getting my Lap Band REMOVED today - And here's my story behind it(pics included)
xavier replied to jessicakolman's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I really hope this solves the pain problem but it sounds like no one will know until they see how you do after the removal. If it doesnt help you, what will be next? Anyway are you also considering vertical sleeve? Please keep us posted on how you are doing! -

Eating With Others Who Don't Have The Lap Band
xavier replied to helen098's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am also amazed at how much people eat and how big the bites are...I guess I used to be like that! I had a hard time letting go of worrying what others thought of me that I eat so little now. Some people might think I'm judging them for how much they eat or that I have an eating disorder because my meals are so tiny, but more than two years banded, I just no longer care what anyone thinks! Sometimes when I am eating with friends and having fun I get distracted and dont chew enough...but I am not going to avoid friends because of it! I just have to learn to pay attention so I dont get stuck! -
Starting Stage 4 Lap Band Diet Soon Need Suggestions Please
xavier replied to Lola184's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am wondering how many calories you are getting now...it doesnt sound like enough. One pound a day is not good for you as I'm sure you know. Yes, you will plateau or even gain as you advance the diet but this is for the rest of your life, its not a diet, its a lifestyle. Its not a race, take care of yourself nutritionally and the weight will come off. -
Is there anyway its that you just hate your job and have stress? Or could it be tight fitting clothes or a tight belt or something? Can it be your chair is putting you in a bad position?

Only 2 Days Until My Tummy Tuck!!
xavier replied to spoiltmom's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Twinkles you look great in your gallery...would love to see how the TT and BL turned out if its not weird to ask. I just cant decide whether to spend the money or not... Spoiltmom, glad you are recovering well! -
Mine and my friend's fell out like crazy from about 3 to 6 moths post op and then started to sprout back. A year later she had to have her GB out and had the exact same thing...its temporary! On the other hand, you need half your ideal weight in protein every day (if you should weigh 120 lbs, you need 60 gms of protein a day)...this is critical to your overall health!

Diet Guidelines for Lap Band Patients ?
xavier replied to BeautyLarue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think I was told protein grams should equal half of your ideal weight. So if ideal weight is 120, you need 60 grams a day. If I eat my protein first, at least 20gms at each of three meals, I dont have room to get myself in trouble with sugar ,carbs etc. Protein is the only think I (sort of) count.
