    Pb2

LOL. That was not how I read your title. Whenever I see PB written on this site, I immediately think of something else.

    Can Anyone Tell Me?

The 4cc is definitely the older band. I know a lot of people that have this band and have had lots of success. Most of them were able to achieve restriction sooner than a lot of us seem to be able to with the new larger band. However as the band has now been updated there would be no reason to use this band unless the Dr was trying to get rid of old stock(generally in Mexico). I don't know about you but i would want to make sure that whatever they put into me was the newest most up to date version.
  4. Those threads are not posted in this area. They are generally posted in the appropriate place either Powder room gone wild or Rants and Raves. Which was my exact point. That everyone should feel free to post what they want so long as it is in the appropriate place. I have no problem with religious threads so long as they are not classified as general lapband support. It is important to have some kind of order and also to stick to the rules and guidelines. If we ignore these then we could end up with anything anywhere and that could cause further problems. Question: Would you be happy if someone started a thread about sex, drugs etc in the General Lap Band support section?

    Post Op Pain

The biggest incision is the one where your port is located. The hard thing you may be able to feel is your port. You cannot actually feel your band.
  6. I agree I don't have to read things but I still think that there is an appropriate place. There is a forum specifically for Religious bandsters, I still think that this is the most appropriate place for these type of posts not General lap Band Discussion. I think that we should aim to keep things in the correct place and that we should respect all beliefs as not everyone will believe the same stuff as you. BTW if you wish to inspire there are ways of doing it that can include everyone whatever they believe. If that is your aim then why not try to post a thread that inspires everyone.

    Painful Fill

The lapband site used to say that autoimmune disease were a contraindication for getting banded( I don't know if it still says it) , maybe your experience is an example of why?
  8. I have no problem with you posting religious stuff. BUT I think you need to show a little respect. Not every member of LBT believes in the same God as you. Therefore if the post is made in the appropriate place it will not offend anyone. Please keep posting but put it in the proper forum.
  9. Apart from the clothes which are obviously too big I can also see a huge difference in your face. You look like a different person. Well done.

    Surgical Glue On Incisions

You are not supposed to be scrubbing it off. You should leave it until it starts to come away naturally. If you are not careful you could cause problems around your incisions. the last thing you want is to end up with an infection.

    Banded Today

I had one of those when I had my hysterectomy and it was brilliant. If the pain does start once the "ball" is finished then you just take the oral meds that your Dr has prescribed. To me it sounds as though so far everything is going great. Well done and good luck with the rest of your journey.
  12. You do realise that this is a lapband site don't you? The majority of your posts are extremely religious. Now if you believe in God, Allah,Jehovah, The Christmas Bunny, whoever that is fine. If you want to talk about it fine. But do you think you could try to post it in an appropriate place. This kind of post would go far better in the Religious Bandsters forum , it is hardly a General Lap Band Surgery Discussion type of post.

    Despetate Newbie

You should have been given instructions pre surgery. Yes I think you went far too quick. Generally you should be on liquids for 2 weeks, mushies for 2 weeks , soft foods for 2 weeks and then "normal" foods after that. You should concentrate at this point on things that you can drink. Soups, juices, veggie juices,Protein shakes etc. Custard may not be the best thing for weight loss but it is one of the foods that is recommended at this stage of the process. Yogurt is another good option. Dig out the paperwork and instructions that you were given and start following those. They are given to you to make sure that everything heals properly after surgery. Eating things that you are not supposed to be eating at this stage can lead to problems at a later stage.

    Why Is It....

I was reading your post and wondering what exactly you are allowed to eat? Sorry that you are still having so many problems. You should be "better" by now and it sucks that you aren't.

    Alone

Has he ever had a weight problem? If not then he will find it hard to understand how difficult it is to lose the weight and KEEP IT OFF. He is also probably scared that something might happen to you. You need to do what is important to you. It is your body and your health. Hopefully he will come around, if not then you may need to do it without his support.

Congrats, glad you are happy. Please pop back in in 2 or 3 years to let us know how you are going .

7 Out Of 7 Cc Hop Will Get Restricted!!!!

I don't think many Dr's in Aus use Midband. The majority use the Lapband or Realize Band. I think Midband is made by a French company.

7 Out Of 7 Cc Hop Will Get Restricted!!!!

Maybe it shouldn't but unfortunately it is. It doesn't matter what kind of WLS you have you still have to do your part. None of them will make good choices for you and none of them will make you exercise. The problem is that you are likely to end up with a band that is too tight and too tight bands lead to slips, reflux, aspiration and other complications. Unfortunately even a band that is tight enough to do this cannot stop you from eating "bad" foods. Foods such as crisps, chocolate, icecream, crackers etc will still slide right through. You will be hungry as these foods are not satisfying and you will probably gain weight. It seems to me as though you were not educated about how the band works before getting it. Lets go over a few things. It doesn't stop you eating the wrong stuff. It doesn't make good food choices. It doesn't guarantee weight loss However if you work with it properly it is a very powerful tool that will assist you if you make good choices. Next time you get a fill follow the Dr's instructions. Generally they require you to stick to liquids for the rest of the day, then soft foods as tolerated the day after. Skip the pizza. If you want to see if your band is working then have a meal of firm Protein (beef, chicken, lamb, fish) with some veg and a good quality carb. Take small bites and chew well. Your aim is not to eat until you feel ill or stuffed but to eat until you are no longer hungry. Then see if you can go a couple of hours without needing food again. Note I did not say without wanting food again as there is a huge difference.

7 Out Of 7 Cc Hop Will Get Restricted!!!!

I am sure I could still eat a whole box of chocolates. If I keep going to get fills to try and stop me then I am going to end up in trouble. We all need to remember that we have to play our part too - the band doesn't do everything.

That is quick. Think yourself lucky.

    Choking In My Sleep

Yes , too tight. You need to go back and have some fill removed as otherwise you risk all sorts of serious complications, including possibly losing your band.
  22. elcee

    Confused?!?

You haven't read anything bad about either?

    Lapband Vs. Sleeve?

If you use the search box you will find hundreds of threads dealing with this same question. Read through them so that you can get more perspective from people who are currently active on LBT and also from others that may not be so active anymore. just be prepared as it can be a very contentious issue.
  24. Your title and the content of your post do not seem to go together. Usually the title reflects the content so that people know what they are going to be commenting on. You do not sound sorry that you have cheated on your diet. It is hard but it is important to stick to it. The Drs didn't devise it for torture, they devised it so that the surgery will be as safe as possible, by cheating you are putting that at risk. Make sure that you are ready for this. Maybe you are also thinking that you are not overweight enough for surgery and have decided that is sufficient excuse to cheat. If so then it is time for a reality check. If you go into surgery feeling like that then you are likely to fail. In order to make this successful you have to be 100% committed. The band does not make you lose weight. the band only helps you by controlling your hunger. You have to make the good choices, you have to exercise etc. Please feel free to ask more specific questions as that will make it easier for us to answer . Wishing you all the best .

    Feeling

I assume you have just had surgery? Once you start getting fills you will notice a difference with what you can eat, how much, how fast etc. If you are not careful you might get stuck and then you will really know that you have a band. Other than that it shouldn't really be noticeable. It is part of you and you shouldn't be any more aware of it than you are aware of something like your liver or your kidneys. You know that they are there and they do their job but they do it without calling attention to themselves.
