  1. Have you changed your name?
  2. Generally looser bowel motions are quite a normal consequence of gastric bypass. It is all to do with the different absorption post op. The first thing you should look at is what you are eating. Too much fat/sugar are going to cause problems.Lactose also causes issues for a lot of people postop If you have checked your diet and there is no obvious cause then you should speak to your Dr. There are drugs they can give you that slow down the rate of gastric emptying. You should also consider how bad the problem is. If you are passing loose motions all day long then yes you probably need help. However if it is just that they are unformed and more than previously but at a certain time of day you may be able to adjust your lifestyle to accomodate it. I have accepted that looser bowel motions are part of my new normal. They tend to be mainly in the early morning which means that it is best to be at home at this time. I don’t really have issues the rest of the time.

    so scared

That’s that’s not good. How far postop are you? Can you think of anything that may have triggered this e.g food getting stuck? What colour is the blood, bright red is usually from the upper digestive system, pink and frothy from the lungs, dark and looks like coffee grounds from the stomach. Hopefully it’s something minor and they are able to fix it quickly

Where did my menopause symptoms go?

I just spent a week on the GC and was cold in the evening. Hubby kept telling me it wasnt cold but I don't believe him. Could be my meds are working or less body weight means less heat

    Chest pain after a year?

Chest pains are not to be messed with, always best to see a Dr

How do I cut the candy?

Find something to replace it with. Eat a handful of nuts or some dried fruit. Make your own sugar free jello snakes. Get strawberries and dip them in a tiny bit of chocolate.
  7. It's not the scars you will be trying to hide when you wear a bikini, it is more likely to be the loose skin.
  8. That was a long stay. I was in for 5 nights but that was because I had a complication. Glad you are ok. Were you able to get someone to pick you up and drive you home?

    Reaction to incision glue?!

I react to the glue on the dressings, I have to make sure they use hypoallergenic ones. Call your Dr and see if you can get a script for some strong antihistamines
  10. This is quite common after major surgery and a general anaesthetic. You and your body have gone through a lot. As the GA works it’s way out of your system things should improve. The other thing that helps is when you start seeing the weight drop off! Dont worry about it too much, it is really normal. Just be gentle with yourself and don’t try to do too much

    Pins and Needles

It could be a vitamin B deficiency. Are you taking your supplements?
  12. Glad you are ok . No one leaves after 1 night in Aus, I can’t imagine even wanting to, our surgeons like to make 100% sure that everything is ok before they let you go home.
  13. 12 year olds don’t buy and cook their own food. If they have severe weight issues it is usually ( but not always) the fault of the parents. A whole family focused solution that focuses on shopping habits, food preparation and healthy habits such as exercise should be used before any form of surgery is considered.

    Trying Contrave

I have no knowledge of Contrave but having to take that many pills on a daily basis sounds like a heck of a lot. Have you seen a food psychologist? It would be better if possible to know why you are eating and develop strategies to cope with it. Hope you do manage to find a solution that works for you in the long term .

    I think I dumped

Probably the watermelon. Late dumping which is what this appears to be is usually caused by low blood sugar - so your bs would have spiked and then dropped. The best thing to do is to try and get your bs back up the same as a diabetic would. You may need to have a small glass of juice ( even though it sounds wrong) or a glass of milk. Then follow it up with protein and or a low GI carb. When I have early dumping I try to drink my way through it. I find the more water I have the better as it seems to flush it through quicker.

    Dumping

Yes its horrible while it lasts, do you know what triggered it?
  17. It doesn't cover the cost of repairing the vehicle you hit. If you hit a Merc that could be very expensive, just because you haven't had an accident yet doesn't mean you never will. Best to make sure you are properly insured, that you are not on any narcotic pain meds, that your surgeon is happy for you to be driving and that you could brake suddenly if necessary.
  18. You shouldn’t be driving without 3rd party insurance, what happens if you hit someone else?
  19. Check your insurance. You may not be covered if you have an accident if it was deemed that you were driving sooner than you should be.

    tropical smoothie sadness

Smoothies and juices are just fast delivery systems for a heap of sugar. Drinking them is not healthy, they are no better than milkshakes. I would be to scared to try one as the pain and palpitations would be horrific
  22. I wouldn’t have gone to sleep with mine that low, I would have called a Dr immediately. aI would have been scared that if I went to sleep I wouldn’t wake up
  23. That is really low , you need to see a Dr urgently. Mine dropped to 75 over 45 a couple of hours after my surgery and it was awful, I thought I was going to die! I got taken back into surgery and was given 4 units of blood. It turned out I had a bleed from a relatively minor blood vessel. All the best, keep us updated
