Gastroplasty Reversal Lap band Installed
elcee replied to Saww62's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think she wants to know what a gastroplasty is. -
Brussels Sprouts - Soft Foods?
elcee replied to jaxjen11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They seem to be very strange instructions but presumably they know what they are doing. What are you allowed to eat? -

I had veggies while I was in my liquid stage. I had precooked and frozen lots of different healthy veggie soups. -
Brussels Sprouts - Soft Foods?
elcee replied to jaxjen11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Brussel sprouts should be banned - they are gross. -
Non painful band slip?
elcee replied to texas-bandette's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You probably felt the food moving through the band. It is highly unlikely that it is a slip. If you start having problems then go and see your Dr. -
Second thoughts are normal, most of us are terrified of making such a big change. Most people that say they are not that big, carry their weight well etc etc are just deluding themselves. My BMI was "only" 32, not that big really. Well I can tell you now that I looked like a baby elephant. A stomach that was about 12 months pregnant, huge sausage arms, a big round face with multiple chins - yet i "wasn't that big". If you can do it on your own then kudos to you, most of us can't.

I know how you feel. The last time I took an Endone pill I felt like death. Nausea, dizzy etc etc. Hope you start feeling better now that you have worked that out. -
Well as far as I know you can't donate blood after having a tattoo but I have never heard of not donating after having a band.I live in Australia and am not allowed to donate blood . Is it because I am a drug user, promiscuous or something similar? No, it is because I lived in the UK before 1980 and therefore I might be a MAd Cow......................!

I've tried them and they haven't helped me at all

Did he say anything about the stuff you were throwing up?

Forget the cup measurement and look at what is happening. You are losing weight(a large amount of weight) every week. Why would you want to mess with that? Save the fills for later when you need them, just keep doing what you are doing as it is obviously working.

Why can't you have milk?

Bad bad bad nausea - help would be appreciated!
elcee replied to lellow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found homemade veggie soups helped. I also felt nauseous and I think it was because everything else I was "eating" (shakes etc) was sweet. The soup tasted like food and made a huge difference. -
Black stuff sounds like "old" blood or partially digested blood from the stomach. This sounds pretty serious , best you see your Dr ASAP

I could eat the whole tub of popcorn without an issue. It is a slider food. Unhealthy, full of fat, high cal, low nutrition. If you want to eat it that is your choice but remember the band is about losing weight - you should be basing your choices on what will best help you to achieve your weight loss goals.

Could of had a May Surgery date...
elcee replied to moorecr's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Who was it the wrong choice for ? You or the surgeon? -
Try babying your band. Suck crushed ice to reduce swelling and stick to liquids. If you can't get those down then go to ER. A lot of bandsters are too tight to eat in the morning so they have a Protein shake instead. Scrambled eggs can be a difficult food to eat.I think maybe they put too much back in 1 go and you have not adjusted your eating style accordingly. Small bites, chew well, eat slowly. Work with your band and you should be OK.

Good luck, have a great time. -
Can anyone feel their band in their stomach?
elcee replied to jennbrenna's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you mean through the skin? It is highly unlikely you can feel the band, you may however be able to feel the tubing. -
Contemplating Lap band surgery, A lot of Questions and concerns
elcee replied to nursechick77's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Those people that never get stuck amaze me. I am obviously the worlds slowest learner because I still get stuck sometimes and I have been banded almost 4 years. -
went for a fill today-didn't get one
elcee replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is generally why I give up with MFP too, when you actually cook it is too hard.Seriously how many people that cook weigh and measure every ingredient and then portion it out exactly? I think it probably works best for people that are too lazy to cook and just eat out all the time. -
Suck crushed ice. If that doesn't work GO to emergency.

Fingers crossed here

1 tspn on apple slices is a really healthy, satisfying snack.
