How often do you poop after your rny?

Everyday, usually in the morning, usually multiple times and it’s usually pretty loose!
  3. 3 meals per day and 2 or 3 planned healthy snacks so you are not going too long without food. Also avoid high carb and sugary foods as these cause reactive hypoglycaemia. If you do get a drop you need to manage it the same way as when you are diabetic. Something to bring your levels up quickly and yes that might be juice followed by something healthy to keep it stable. A small quantity of juice followed by something like a banana or whole meal crackers with protein should help.

    Heartburn

Hasn’t your Dr prescribed you meds? It’s pretty normal to take them for the first couple of months
  5. lol that’s funny. I find trying to sell clothes too hard. I have given some away to friends, donated some to op shops and swapped some at clothes swaps. Some I may alter or repurpose if I ever get around to it

  11. How far out of surgery are you, has your dietician told you to stick to 600 calories, that is very low https://www.peta.org.au/living/vegan-foods-crazy-high-protein/?gclid=CjwKCAiAluLvBRASEiwAAbX3GaoOUMxfDnds7f67sTV5HqykziMzoNmCXQJU1BbXpPh4UXGvJuVnzRoCPN0QAvD_BwE
  12. You should be on soft or normal foods by then. Is there some medical reason why you are delaying progressing your diet? If you wait too long before reintroducing proper foods you can end up with issues e.g a stricture.

    No F#$ckin BMI Way

It would be interesting to see what the insurance companies take on this is. They have presumably paid a lot of money for people to have this surgery to help them get to a healthy weight range. I wonder if they would be happy paying that money out if they knew people were going to give up before they got there. Yes BMI maybe flawed but until we have something better to replace it it works quite well. People forget it is a range. and the range is quite vast which allows for “ big” bones. The exceptions seem to be elite athletes that have lots of muscle, I’m guessing that most of us here are not in that category. Choosing a goal weight is hard and it needs to be something that is healthy and makes you happy. It shouldn’t be something that is chosen based on fear and other people’s perceptions. If we stopped losing weight because other people told us we were getting too skinny most of us would still be in the overweight range!
  14. So sorry to hear about your losses

    No F#$ckin BMI Way

So many people think they will look too thin at normal weight because being overweight is so normal that we have forgotten what normal weight should look like.
  16. Some people that knew i had a band I told. Others I haven’t. It’s none of their business how I lose weight.
  17. I could be you , I had a band in 2009 lost all my excess weight, kept it off for ages and then it stopped working. I had a band to bypass revision in Jan and haven’t looked back. All my excess weight has come off - I now sit around 49kg and my diet is so much healthier. I can eat steak and chops and salads and there are no stuck episodes. I no longer waste nights out in restaurant loos because my first bite of food got stuck. To me my RNY does what the band was marketed to do. I know when i’ve had enough, I don’t get stuck, full is in my stomach not my throat and I can eat small amounts of healthy food and be satisfied. Sugar causes me issues if I’m not careful but that is a good thing. Good luck with whatever you decide to do but when deciding don’t write off the RNY, it is so much better than the band.

    Post Op Sex

This question “comes up” all the time. I think the best response I have read is that generally they prefer you to wait until you are home from hospital
  20. You shouldn’t need to cook seperate food. The whole family should be able to eat the same healthy meals. The main difference is that you will be eating smaller meals with less carbs. What are you eating that makes it so difficult?
  21. Could it be possible that food is triggering the issues. Some foods ( generally high sugar items) give me the most horrendous palpitations and fatigue. I agree that you need to go for ests but while you are waiting to get in keep a food diary and see if it is possible to pinpoint food/s that may be triggering it. If you were female ( guessing you are a guy but I could be wrong) I would also suggest getting your hormones checked. I got awful palpitations when I started being menopausal.

    Straws

They are bad for the environment 😂
  23. I don’t think there is a non invasive option other than using filters when taking selfies! The only thing that will really work is some form of face lift. But I would be incredibly happy if someone can prove me wrong.
