WHAT am I doing wrong ?

I’m British although I now live in Australia and have also lived in South Africa so I don’t think that’s it. What you need to do is relax. You had a big initial loss and now it has slowed down. That is normal. You are still healing, your body is in shock it takes time for everything to catch up. Just keep following the diet that you have been advised to follow and the weight will come off.
  2. Is he talking about using an actual lapband or placing a minimiser ring. If it is the ring it supposedly has less issues than the band. It is now commonly done at the same time as a bypass op although as an exbander it wasn’t something I wanted, I’m too wary.
  3. I’m struggling to decipher what you have written. You had the band removed and thought you were sleeved but you weren’t ? Is that right? You are struggling to eat or drink. I find it hard to believe that a surgeon has diagnosed you with a twisted stomach and not fixed it. Normally a twisted stomach would be a medical emergency as the loss of blood flow would cause necrosis, infection and ultimately death. And this has been going on since 2018? Please tell me what I’m missing.

    Post 21-day leak

Hopefully you are now on the route to healing and better health and no more complications

    Pudding okay to eat

Sugar free jello/ jelly is usually considered a liquid and allowed both pre and post op. They even give it to you in hospital

13 years later and - I Love my band

Why would you if it’s doing what it’s supposed to and not causing issues? Fingers crossed that it all stays that way
  7. Is not quantifiable. I find different things cause different issues on different days.
  8. My ears and throat were affected after surgery. I felt like someone had stuffed my head full of cotton wool. It took about a month to resolve. Yours has been going on for a long time so I would be going back to see your Dr. You may need antibiotics

    Complete lap band failure

I had a revision to RNY and it’s like the difference between day and night. No more getting stuck, no more chest pain and I can eat a lot healthier. Steak, chops, chicken, salad etc. I still have to be careful of sliders and grazing but those are issues that we have to take individual responsibility for , they are not something any WLS will sort out. Bands have fallen out of favour as they cause too many issues and also trying to find the correct balance between reducing hunger yet still being able to eat healthy foods is too hard.
  10. That’s really good. It must be time for you to post some comparison photos

    Osteopenia

I was diagnosed recently. No matter dear what caused it or if it’s just normal for my age. I take my multi, 2 vit D caps and I had to have a prolia injection
  12. Weight loss always slows down as you get closer to goal. You have done really well so far don’t stress too much if the last bit comes off slower. You shouldn’t need to go to IF or similar at this stage. Rather focus on getting in protein and good healthy carbs in small portions and keep moving. Also staying away from mashed potatoes may help, they are very easy to overeat. What is your BMI now?
  13. You run a high risk of causing ulcers, necrotic tissue, not healing properly. You need to stop now, why go through life altering surgery to get healthy and wreck it all with the cancer sticks
  14. The alcohol is likely causing the GERD. Can you try a12 step program like AA? See a counsellor that can help you with your issues and alternative ways to deal with them. You have been through a lot, you need to look after your health.

    Could i smoke after 1 month ?

Why have an op to make yourself healthier and then wreck it by resuming the death sticks again? Stroke, heart disease, diabetes , cancer , is it worth it?

    Issues still...

It sounds to me as though you may have a stricture. Hopefully your Dr is able to see and diagnose the problem quickly so you can get help
  17. I wouldn’t be aiming for a burger with the bun, that is way too much food. I would rather just eat the patty and maybe a couple of chips or bites of the bun. But be warned I can eat a lot more now than with my band. A lot f control has to come from your head and wise choices.
  18. Generally a sleeve after a band is not recommended because of the extremely high risk of severe reflux. Also former band patients do not do well with a sleeve as they are both only restrictive procedures. A lot of surgeons will recommend an RNY as it has both restrictive and malabsorption components and a much lower risk of reflux. I went band to bypass last Jan and couldn’t be happier. All excess weight list, diet much healthier and no more stuck episodes.
  19. It might be time to consider a revision. It has been discovered that bands have a limited lifespan and that there are very few that continue doing what they were designed to do after approx 10 years. They also do a lot of unseen damage.
  20. I was revised on 1 surgery. Life with an RNY is so much easier than with a band. I don’t get stuck and I can eatlots of good healthy foods. I just have to be really careful with sugar but that is a good thing

    This should be Fun CUBA

You are there for a week,I am sure whatever food they have it will be fine. Just keep the portions small and focus on proteins first. https://www.baconismagic.ca/cuba/cuban-food/ Im sure the food is no more unhealthy than in other countries such as the USA!
  22. It’s always best to check with your Dr when you have unexplained pain

    I have another question

I would do whatever you feel comfortable with. If you can’t have full on sex there are plenty of other ways of achieving satisfaction, get creative and experiment. Use some toys............
