    Bypass a laugh!

Reminds me of my first caesarean, there was a lady in our ward that was a natural comic. She had everyone in fits of laughter which may be good for those who have had vaginal births but it’s not when you’ve had a Caesarean
  2. Perfectly normal to be nervous, I am always terrified of anaesthesia. Thimk not long now and you will be a postop patient and on your way to the new you

    Yuck

So what did you end up buying instead?
  4. I think not weighing and measuring everything is because she is trying to get you to develop a more healthy relationship with food. There will be many situations and places where you will be unable to weigh or measure so being able to know by sight what is an appropriate portion is is a more useful skill.
  5. The risk of reflux with a sleeve is very high. Most surgeons won’t do a band to sleeve revision if you have a history of reflux
  6. I just put Ortiz in the search bar and 7493 results came up. Have fun!
  7. I think there is a forum for Drs, try there. But also try doing a search on this site. I live in Australia so I really have no idea if he is good bad or ugly!
  8. I remember back in 2009 when I got my band people on the boards would talk about him all the time. I haven’t seen anything recently. Have you tried doing a search either on this site or with Google?
  9. My issue with pixie cuts is they show off too much of my face. I have just spent a year growing my hair after a couple of hairdressers went scissor crazy. I hated being able to see so much face. Maybe if it was thinner I wouldn’t mind but my worry is that then it would show off my wrinkles!
  10. You have the same date as me but I am revising from band to bypass. This time around I haven’t got to do the liquid diet, I have just been told to stick with “ clean” eating.

Dietician Stuff...help me not be a jerk...

At this stage of the process I would be listening to what they say and not trying to second guess them.

Lap band January 2019 surgery date

Which is how the boys end up straying into the ladies room and vice versa. So easy to do

    Recreational Drugs

I'm with you. Food is something that is legal and every person needs to live. Cocaine, Heroin, ICE etc are all illegal and are not required for survival.

    Backhanded compliments

It’s not a good thing to say but if you think about it he just verbalised what you yourself think. You felt good and felt that you looked good which presumably you didn’t before. I know when I’m carrying extra weight I feel as though I look horrible. So accept it as a compliment and just realise that not everyone is tactful. Sometimes things come across as rude that aren’t meant that way.

    Jan 2019 bypass buddies

All the best, hope everything goes really well
  16. Difference. Your phase 2 is one week. Mine is two.🤦🏽‍♂️. I want to chew something dang it. What is the issue with citrus fruit?

    2 weeks today!

Hasn’t your Dr recommended any products that you should be using? Most programmes require a meal replacement shake diet. The fave in Aus is Optifast but there are lots of others that may fit the bill. Priceline ( which is the Aussie equivalent of Clicks) has an own brand product called Celebrity slim, I imagine that would be available there as Clicks is a South african company. Other items are sugar free jelly, stock cubes e.g oxo etc I would call your Dr’s office to clarify, it is ultra important that you know what you will be allowed in the liquid phase after surgery even more than the preop phase. I am having my RNY on 17th, 2 days after you.
  18. He's talking about a revision without first finding out why you are so nauseous. That seems really strange
  19. You do know that being tight generally causes weight gain rather than loss? Because you can’t eat the satisfying foods you subconsciously eat sliders . You need to go and see a Dr. You may need tests. However you may also need to accept that your band has come to the end of its lifespan and will never again do for you what it was intended to do. It might be time to start researching other options.
  20. Even without surgery everyone's norm is different. Some people go multiple times a day others only a few times a week

    Worried Sweet-Tooth with question

I haven’t had the op yet so can not say with any authority but I think sweet foods are less likely to cause an issue if combined with other foods such as protein and fibre. Quantity probably also makes a difference. So eating a chocolate bar as a mid morning snack probably wouldn’t be a good idea but having a bite of chocolate at the end of a meal ( if you have space) might be ok.

    I’ve got my date

Clots in your lungs, that is scary, how did they pick that up?
